About the property

There's history in these here mountains! For a short time in the 1800's, Blue Ridge Georgia was a part of the gold rush. At Cabby's Cabin we've tried to capture a piece of that history for you to enjoy with the rustic furnishings and décor, but still offer all of the modern conveniences you love!

As you first pull into the circular driveway you'll immediately be taken away by the serenity of your four acre wooded retreat. Many guests say the first thing they notice is the peace and quiet that only nature can offer. Walking towards the entryway you’ll fall in love with the cabin’s quaint aspects from matching window shutters to the stone chimney. Follow the walkway through the screened porch and you will be welcomed into the screened lanai with your first glimpses of the breathtaking view. The entryway features double French and glass pane doors. With no rear neighbors in view for miles, you will not find any blinds to cover that view. Upon entering, you will immediately want to soak in the open and cozy feel of the three bedroom and two bathroom layout. The living room is adorned with an antler chandelier fitting of a lodge, a real wood burning fireplace, and luxurious amenities from comfortable couches to rustic handmade wood tables. Whether you want to relax indoors or outdoors you are sure to find endless activities. For those who prefer indoors, you’ll love the full reclining sofa and massaging recliner in front of your high definition 50” smart TV. With cable and high speed internet provided you’ll have available connectivity for streaming Netflix, Hulu, or all of your other favorites. For the music lovers, feel free to relax to your favorite tunes or dance the night away by playing your premade vacation playlist through the Bluetooth sound bar. You’ll also find the high speed Wi-Fi password in the welcome book for connectivity to all of your personal devices. In the adjoining kitchen and dinette you will find all of life’s modern conveniences with a breathtaking view out the oversized windows. Amenities include a Keurig coffee maker (be sure to bring your favorite K-Cups), stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and full cooking compliments including dishware and dining accessories. When you’re ready for bed, crawl into the soft fresh linen sheets with warm quilted blankets and plush pillows. The master bedroom features vaulted ceilings, a king sized sleep number bed, walk in closet, private bathroom with a garden tub, and a skylight. Both guest bedrooms share the guest bath and have queen sized beds, nightstands, closets, and lamps. When you wake up from your long nights rest, enjoy your morning coffee on the upstairs deck as the mountain fog and long range mountain views provide a breathtaking sunrise you’ll soon not forget. Make your way to the downstairs viewing deck to enjoy the relaxing rustic rocking chairs, love seat rocker, and bench swing. We’re not sure if it’s possible yet, but should you ever start to get cabin fever, venture down the road to the Benton Mackaye Trail. This four hundred mile trail crosses through three states, intersects with the Appalachian Trail three times, and happens to cut right through the neighborhood as it winds its way back into the wilderness. As you head into town keep an eye out for the white triangle trail markers painted on trees along the way to help hikers stay on the right course.

Whatever your favorite way to relax is, you’re sure to find it here in Blue Ridge. Cabby’s Cabin is a place for friends and family to come together, find rest, enjoy the simpler things, make lifelong memories, and who knows, maybe even find a little piece of your own gold!

About John-Michael Cabot

The "Cabby's," John-Michael & Ivy Cabot are from Tampa, Florida. John-Michael was affectionately called Cabby by his friends growing up. When they became first time cabin owners in December of 2016 the name just fit, Cabby's Cabin!

John-Michael Cabot purchased this cabin in 2016

Why John-Michael Cabot chose Blue Ridge

The Cabot's fell in love with Blue Ridge for many reasons. First it was the small town mountain charm and second was the proximity to Florida. In fact, Cabby's Cabin is just about as close to the mountains as you can get from their home in Tampa! They like to say, "You can go from beaches to relaxing in the mountains in a third of a day!"

What makes this cabin unique

As they sought out a theme for the cabin they found their answer in Blue Ridge's rich history. The mountain town was once a part of the gold rush in the 1800's. The area is also very historical in its American Indian heritage. The result was a turn of the century rustic miner's camp theme.

Amazing Beautiful peaceful vactaion

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time ever staying in a cabin in Georgia and let me tell you it did not disappoint! From the long drive up to the cabin I knew it would be a good vacation. The view once you get up her is just breathtaking!!! Everything is laid out and explained for you in their welcome book. I even enjoyed reading the guest book that past renters have wrote their experiences in. Downtown Georgia is so friendly and has a small town feel which I love as we don't see that much living in Columbus Ohio. There was not one bad experience that we had. Even when the Nest thermostat had gone out which turned the air off. The owners were so apologetic and sent someone out immediately to fix the problem. It didn't bother us we just spent that time outdoors in nature with the deer 😍😍😍

I would highly recommend Cabby's Cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful quiet getaway. I will be for sure booking again next year!

P.s. The reading room is a must check out

Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at this cabin. It just as beautiful as the pictures on line. The view was breath taking. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. I loved all the decorations. I truly enjoyed exploring inside and all around the cabin. I felt totally at home. One of my favorite places was the fire pit. I loved your arrangement, it makes me want to build the fire pit in my backyard. Thank you for allowing us to stay there. We would love to come back.

The view was outstanding!

  • 4 of 5

This was a comfortable cabin with lots of rocking chairs & swings on the porches & around the fire pit. We spent lots of time watching the sunrises & sunsets from the deck outside the kitchen. We were thrilled to see a wild turkey & fox right on the property. The only difficulty was the gravel road which was being worked on because of a broken water pipe. We are from Florida & not used to mountain driving! Our rented Ford Flex got stuck on the way up as we were arriving. (Wish we had rented a 4 wheel drive)!! We called John Michael & he gave us directions for another way up the mountain & we made it! It was worth the scary ride up for the view!!!

Owner's Response: We are so sorry about the timing! It's unfortunate that the road was being repaired upon your arrival. Being from Florida, we can also appreciate that driving up mountains is a different experience all together. Fortunately, we have had hundreds of guests in all kinds of vehicles and have not had any issues getting to the cabin ;) We are so glad you were able to utilize the other route to arrive safely!

Great cabin

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin in the woods. It’s high atop a hill and provides a great view. Very secluded feel. Well stocked with everything you need and a comfortable king bed. Hot tub, fire pit, and grill—what more do you want in a cabin after a day out. My son loved the billiards and foosball in the basement. Blue Ridge is a great little town with more to do than most mountain towns. Orchards are fun to pick strawberries and Gem mining close by. We also did tubing which was a lot of fun. Would definitely return to this cabin.
