Family time, peace, great views and private swimming pool!

The Moinho do Marco offers you the best view over one of the most beautiful bays in the world, the Setubal Bay. The Moinho do Marco is surrounded by nature and just 3 Km away from the old part of Setúbal, where you can enjoy its restaurants, the fish market, the beaches...

There are two different accommodations in our property completely independent: the mill, intended for couples, and the family apartment for up to 5 members. The owner lives in the property but there is a 100% respect policy so all of us enjoy its privacy.

The apartment offers a calm environment for a family of five seeking time together in a relaxing setting. To reach the apartment there are some stairs but the apartment itself is set in one level.

The fully equipped apartment has been completely renovated in January 2020. Its 56 m2 are displayed in two bedrooms: one master bedroom with a queen-size no-end bed (160 x 200 cm), another with bunk-beds (90 x 200 cm.) and an extra bed/baby cot in main room, bathroom with large shower cabinet, fully equipped kitchen and a living & dining area. You may also opt to take breakfast outside, in your private terrace or by the pool.

In front of the apartment you will enjoy your private garden you may find the swimming pool, the shaded terrace and the sandbox.

Surrounded by vegetation, the shaded terrace has wooden chairs, tables and deck chairs to hunker down comfortably to read, relax or just to see the wonderful views over the Sado River estuary and the Tróia peninsula as well as to observe the flight of the birds from the Arrábida Natural Park. It is a perfect area to make "family time". There are always toys available.

The sandbox is placed by a peach tree, under its cool shade kids spend a lot of time playing in their own paradise. Buckets, shovels, cars, trucks... all is provided! This "private beach" keep children very busy.

When the dawn comes, it is simply fantastic to lean under the stary sky in which we can see clearly the constellations. Summer nights even offer us the meteor shower.

Ich vermisse diesen Ausblick - wir müssen wiederkommen.Unser Aufenthalt war wunderbar. Die Menschen in Portugal sind aufgeschlossen und freundlich. Unsere Gastgeberin war nicht nur hilfsbereit, sondern hat uns unseren Urlaub mit ihrem tollen Humor versüßt.Das Haus hat uns positiv überrascht. Die Ausstattung ist neu und hochwertig. Hier wurde der Landhaus-Stil perfekt durchgezogen. Ich war beeindruckt, wie perfekt hier das Platzangebot genutzt wird. Alles perfekt sauber.Die Miete wird eindeutig ins Objekt investiert. Ich habe noch nie so weiche Handtücher berührt. Ohne auf Marken fixiert zu sein, habe ich mir für zuhause jetzt auch Shampoo und Conditioner von Rituals beschafft. Die Nespresso-Maschine ermöglicht einen leckeren Kaffee am Morgen. Wer keine Lust hat, Teller zu spülen, für den hält Setubal viele Alternativen bereit. Wir haben uns viel selbst versorgt, haben uns aber vorgenommen bei den nächsten Besuchen, die noch nicht besuchten Restaurants ebenfalls auszuprobieren.Die Fahrt mit dem Taxi-Boot zum Glapinhos Beach war ein Abenteuer. Meine Tochter möchte jetzt einen Bootsführerschein machen. :-)Tatsächlich konnten wir am nächsten Tag bei einer Rundfahrt auch Delfine sehen. Bei den Buchungen hat uns Guadalupe geholfen, sodass es gar nicht erst zu Unsicherheiten kam.Sportliche können den Berg sicher auch zu Fuß erklimmen, wir waren froh, einen Mietwagen zur Verfügung zu haben.Wir waren zu viert, inkl. 2 Kinder 15 und 16 J. altVielen Dank Guadalupe!

Semana santa en el apartamento

Hola, somos una familia con 2 niñas. Hemos viajado a Setubal para pasar la semana Santa en el apartamento. Nos ha gustado mucho el sitio, el apartamento se encuentra a las puerta del parques natural Do Arrabida, está a la afueras de setubal pero a 3 mn en coche. Tiene una vistas muy bonitas de la bahia y mucha tranquilidad. Es un sitio muy bueno para ir con niños ya que tiene piscina, jardin y los hijos de Guadalupe y Laurent son encantadores. Es un buen sitio para visitar Troia, Lisboa, Portinho etc... hay playas impresionantes y restaurantes estupendos. La casa está muy bien, muy limpia y con todo lo necesario. Hay que saber que la habitacion de las literas se encuentra en una alcoba pero está bien aislada con cortinas gruesas. Los propietarios nos pusieron a disposicion una trona, una cuna y una bañera. Nos facilitaron tambien mucha informacion sobre los alrededores...Y hasta nos regalaron unos huevos frescos de sus gallinas... Quiero resaltar la amabilidad y disponibiliad de Guadalupe y Laurent y desde aqui les mando un beso muy fuerte y tambien a los niños. Y esperemos volver pronto para disfrutar esa vez del molino!!

Die Gastgeber sind super-nett ,durch die liebevolle Atmosphäre und Hingabe zum Detail fühlt man sich rundum wohl. Die Ruhe auf dem Hügel , der Blick in die Bucht und das gelegentliche Rufen des Esels von nebenan , machen den Aufenthalt zur Erholung pur. Ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis sind die in der Bucht lebenden Delfine. Danke an Guadalupe und Lorenzo und die Kinder

Super Urlaubsziel einmal anders

Super Urlaubsziel einmal anders. Schlafen unter Mühlenrad mit toller Aussicht. Tolle Ausflugsziele in kurzer Zeit erreichbar, 1/2 Stunde nach Lissabon. Sehr schöne Strände in nächster Nähe, aber Auto von Nöten. Steile Steintreppe zum Schlafzimmer und Bad sind für Kleinstkinder und ältere Personen ungeeignet. Alles in einem sehr gepflegten sauberen Zustand. Gastgeber sind sehr liebevoll und hilfsbereit in jeder Hinsicht (Tipps für Ausflüge, Lokalitäten und Einkäufe.

Nous avons passé un séjour magique dans un endroit préservé et calme. Si vous recherchez le calme, l'authenticité, la beauté des paysages, vous serez comblés. L'émotion est présente dés que l'on quitte Sétubal pour "grimper" dans le Parque de la Sierra de Arrabida en empruntant le chemin sinueux vers le moulin perdu sur la colline et la découverte de la propriété ........un petit paradis! Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement par Guadalupe et Laurent , nos hôtes, qui se sont coupés en 4 pour répondre à nos demandes d'informations sur les activités et visites dans la région......très attentifs à notre bien-être tout en restant très discrets et respectueux. A good romantic place for a honeymoon!

We had our honeymoon at the mill at Moinho do Marco. The mill is absolutely faboulous. I can't imagine a more romantic place to sleep. We enjoyed staying there. The view is wonderfull. Because the terrace of the mill is above the appartment and the owners house you almost feel like youre alone on your terrace. There is a possibility to have a barbeque and there is a small house without walls to sit with rain. The mill looks very clean. They keep everything (mill/appartment/garden etc) in a good condition. Nothing looks old or dirty. The owners of the house are really friendly and helpfull and know how to give the best hospitality. When we had a problem they did everything to solve it. The Wife Guadaloupe knows good places to visit and can give you a lot of information. If you want to know something that she doesnt know she will take care that she will get the answer. I will recommend this place to all family and friends. The mill not with children or for disabled people because of the stairs. But the mill is absolutely great for couples. The appartment is good for people with children. There is a small swimming pool to cool down. This pool is not deep so it is safe for your children. I did the tile painting workshop. I enjoyed doing that. Florbella takes her time to learn you painting it and she is really friendly. If you are not really artistic it is also a nice workshopt because you can use a standard picture if you want. The environment is great. There are really nice things to do and see. Guadeloupe can give you a good advice.

Séjour d'une semaine en février, par très beau temps (un adulte, un enfant de 10 ans). Le site est exceptionnel (même en cette saison particulièrement venteuse!). Le moulin est aménagé avec beaucoup de goût, avec le souci de garder le cachet. Il propose toutes les commodités (coin cuisine bien équipé, belle salle de bain, coin lecture à l'étage intermédiaire, chambre féérique). Le panorama est magnifique, le site est très calme. On est à cinq minutes du centre de Setúbal en voiture. Les maîtres des lieux (on parle français, portugais et espagnol) sont sur place et proposent dans le tarif le petit déjeuner; ils sont très dispo pour tout renseignement ou requête. Beaucoup de visites à la clé (la presque-ile de Troia juste en face, ligne chdf pour Lisbonne à 45 minutes, randonnées dans la serra voisine, castel, plages... Je reviens rarement deux fois au même endroit, mais là je ferai certainement une exception à la règle..

This was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The characteristics of the old mill are kept perfectly, whilst not compromising your needs of an apartment in any way. The surrounding area is very nice, the beaches that are close too. The owners were wonderful people and made us feel very much at home. Don't forget to take their breakfast, so you can try some of their amazing homemade jam!

Ya conocía el Molino y repetí en el apartamento.

Ya estuve con mi marido en el molino y como nos encantó, me fuí a principios de septiembre con mis hijos al apartamentito. Qué buena decisión!! Qué monada!!! Todo cuidado hasta el último detalle. Todo me ha gustado desde las vistas, la piscina, el ambiente, los dueños y sus educadísimos hijos, los bancos de azulejo portugues que decoran todo el exterior de la casa y el molino, todo. Dentro el apartamento tiene todo lo necesario para pasar una buena temporada, asdemás de lo limpio que está. Volveremos con los niños al apartamento porque nos ha encantado a todos. Una experiencia es ir al mercado comprar pescado, quesos, vino y poder tener un sitio, con vistas increibles, donde poder disfrutarlo. Muy recomendable.

Hemos estado una semana en este lugar y nos ha parecido maravilloso: la tranquilidad, las vistas, el jardín, la piscina... No olvidaremos las tardes mirando al mar, los juegos de los niños en la piscina, la visita guiada al mercado, el paseo por el bosque, las playas, las recomendaciones de los propietarios sobre la zona. Nos ha encantado la experiencia de alojarnos en un molino de verdad. Muchas gracias por todo.

La excelencia

La experiencia ha sido desbordante, una experiencia de reencuentro en pareja en un lugar delicioso con vistas a la desembocadura del río Sado. Los despertares en el silencio sólo roto algunas mañanas por lor trinos de los pájaros, prepararse el desayuno en mesita bajo la pérgola y charlar, estar en silencio, sentir el fresco del aire limpio, hacer pereza, linda desidia y el esfuerzo recompensado más tarde de bajar a Setúbal, pasear las calles de su mercado, disfrutar con todos los sentidos de sus verdura, frutas y pescados de todo tipo, y lo más duro de todo : decidir qué comprar para la cenita a la suave luz de la farola con la copita de vinho verde, preparar las almejas, el pez espada, los berberechos ...en esa impoluta cocina, con todos los elementos necesarios para su preparación, dispuestos con todo mimo, para luego tapaditos con una manta en la tumbona practicar el visionado de las estrellas luciendo en todo su esplendor en un silencio gozoso, que no requería adivinar el estado de ánimo de ninguno de los dos, ha sido una experiencia más recomendable para reencontrarse sin presiones en un espacio de ensueño!!!

I could not live without sun, I could not without the little things of everyday life, I could not live if there were no such meals culminated with an eternal conversation shared with friends and family, if I had not invented wine I think I at least , I would have tried, and of course my family ... that gives me life!
As a hostess I try to make our guests feel comfortable, free, welcome, independent and generate enough confidence that they can come to my door saying ... "Guadalupe, would you give me a garlic clove, please?" Of course! :)
