Very very basic

Three coffee pods provided for four adults for three nights, one towel per person, not enough toilet paper, very foul smell in hallway and were asked to leave 25 euros cash in mailbox.

Positives: The location could not be any better! The bedrooms were very large and would accommodate 4 easily. Negatives: More than 50% of the communication referenced another individual so I didn’t start off (or continue) to have a positive feel from the beginning. When you enter, the entire building smells terrible. The overall cleanliness was well below expectations. The bathroom was covered in mold, the entire apartment smelled musty/ moldy, and there were bugs in the refrigerator. We took sponge baths the first day because the water heater wasn’t set properly. The owner did offer to come correct it, however, it would have taken a long time for them to come at an inconvenient time. I would not recommend this VRBO as the owners are not organized are not on site so they cannot address issues.

Ribeira is the best place to stay

My sweet Ribeira 1 has all of the basic needs for a good stay in Porto. Very centrally located (we didn't know how important this was when we booked), it gave us access to all of the sightseeing and food options we wanted. We did have to purchase coffee and other essentials (toilet paper) that were not stocked in the property. And, finding the location of the property was a little bit of a challenge for us. The walk up the hill from the taxi stand with our large suitcases was a little challenging with all of the pedestrian traffic in Porto (just something to be aware of). The location made up for any small inconveniences and we enjoyed our stay in Porto. The hosts were very communicative which was very helpful.

Fabulous Apartment, poor attention to detail.

We were greeted at the front of the building by a begging homeless man and graffiti on the front of the building. When entering the elevator lobby it was very dark & dingy. The apartment was sorely lacking in attention to detail. Don't let the picture of the nice place settings fool you. Most of the items in the kitchen were mismatched and looked like they came from a second hand store. There was a dirty sponge for our use and the top drawer would not close. The decor was a mish-mosh ranging from a small faux poinsettia plant to a small canvas of a Dalmatian wearing a top hat and bow tie. Esthetically, this apartment was not pleasing. I spoke with the host once to let her know that they apartment smelled of smoke so I wouldn't be assessed a surcharge for smoke removal. I was told that it did not smell of smoke because it is a non-smoking apartment. There were posted placards for a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher, but these were no where to be found. It was wonderful to have the washing machine. If you are unconcerned about the apartment not being up to par, but are looking for a fabulous location, this is for you. If you enjoy pleasant surroundings in your rental, there are probably others to look at.

Will man alle Möglichkeiten in Porto ausschöpfen, dann ist das eine hervorragende Lage. Nahe am Fluss, nahe am Bahnhof, nahe an der Innenstadt. Tolle Verkehrsverbindungen und alles fussläufig. Die Wohnung ist nach außen gut schallisoliert, aber Porto hat viel Autoverkehr (überall). Man ist in einer Stadt. Zum Einkaufen war das Geschäft direkt nebenan. Für einen Urlaub ohne Auto ideal.
