Dario is a wonderful and gracious host. He took time to show us Lucca and share some wonderful stories with us. This Villa is like living in a fairy tale, you need to pinch yourself every morning as you look out on the Tuscan Countryside. Monica was lovely, greeted us at check in, and was always available for anything we needed. The Villa is renovated and very comfortable, the pool immaculate and heated which is very nice. Lots of sleeping options and bathrooms for a larger group. The place is great for families with lots of space for the children to play. I can’t recommend this property enough, it was everything we could have asked for. We hope to be lucky enough to stay here again. Grazie Dario!

This property is so special. After a long day of travel, I must say, when I pulled up to the villa and stepped out of the car, the views, the home, and the property took my breath away. They’re better than the photographs, which feels like a rarity these days. The home has been lovingly restored. High end finishes and appliances. Immaculate. Gorgeous pool. The grounds are lovingly manicured. Dario and Monica were a joy to work with and went above and beyond at every turn.Very family friendly stay as well. A terrific family vacation we won’t soon forget.

What a holiday. We had a fantastic time. We were a party of 10 celebrating my father in laws bday. The house is a true home from home. Extremely clean and well cared for. More than enough space for 6 adults and 4 children. You are surrounded by stunning views and vineyards. The pool was fantastic and a godsend in the August heat. Communication with Monika and Dario was excellent and both very responsive and super helpful. 15 minute drive to supermarkets, pharmacy and the train station and around 20 minute drive to Lucca and 45 drive to Pisa so a great location for exploring or doing absolutely nothing! Would love to return.

Great villa in the hillside sorrounding Lucca

We had a great time in stunning villa. Lovely location, with a great view over Lucca. The pool is fantastic. Maria and Dario is very helpful

Fantastic Stay in Tuscany!

We had an amazing stay in 'La Crocetta' ! The property is even more beautiful than in photos, the pool was amazing, and the sunset views were unbeatable. We had six adults and two children stay very comfortably in the home. It is also centrally located, an easy drive to Florence, Luca, the Italian Seaside at Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, as well as Pisa. We loved our stay and hope to go back again soon!

Multigenerational visit

Wonderful time, Villa was perfect for our group that spanned 8-78 years old. Pool was perfect. Monica and Dario were welcoming and helpful. Sad to leave!

Lucca hills vacation

Our stay at this Lucca hills country house in late May/early June was magnificent! Dario was an outstanding host and Monica the house manager was incredible. They were very helpful and replied promptly to any questions. We loved this part of Tuscany and will definitely be back. Grazie mille Dario and Monica!

Our high expectations were exceeded

We were so excited for our stay. The pictures on the listing were gorgeous and somehow the home and views are even more breathtaking in person. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The caretaker Monica was so kind, gracious and is an incredible cook! We cannot wait to return soon.

Just Wow! This house was more than we could have hoped for and more. We were first time travelers to Italy, a family of 6 with kids that ranged from 5 years to 13. It was the perfect set-up for our family. Monica and Dario were amazing and answered any and all questions we had. They also helped organize someone to come into the home to cook us dinner. Isa was amazing and it was a highlight of our entire trip! We still have dreams of the view and sitting outside eating dinner every night. The location was perfect, up far enough to have the view, but not too far that the drive was challenging. It was the perfect home base for us. We did rent a car, which I am glad we did because we had the flexibility to explore the area. This house and the stay there will always have a special place in our hearts and hope to be back soon!

Five star rating

House was super clean and comfortable. Assistant Monica was incredibly helpful and kind and spoke some English. She not only gave great information but dropped off a cake for my daughters birthday. The home had all the conveniences of home along with much more. This was super conveniently located and close to Lucca and Pisa. An hour away from a few more line Florence and CinqueTerra and more. Comfortable for ten. Great little restaurant close as well. We really enjoyed our stay. Cheers We will be back.

Quite Frankly, One of a Kind

It is hard to describe how incredible this stay was. We stayed as a family of six adults, and the home was a great space to be together while allowing each person to have their own space. Location-wise, you are at the base of the quintessential Tuscan hamlet, San Gennaro, and then close (5 min drive) to Collodi, a bit larger and hidden mountain village. The views from the home are unbeatable as well. Dario (owner) and Monica (property manager) were two of the best hosts we have ever encountered. If you are debating whether or not to stay here, consider the decision made.

Our family of six (five adults and a baby) just returned from a truly unforgettable 7-night stay at this extraordinary country house north of Lucca. The views are simply breathtaking...rolling hills, ancient churches, and a medieval hamlet stretch as far as the eye can see, and no photo can capture the magic of sitting by the infinity pool at sunset.The house is a beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse that blends authentic Tuscan charm with modern luxury. Every corner is immaculate and thoughtfully designed. The living spaces are spacious and inviting, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the bedrooms are elegant, comfortable, and serene. Staying here feels like inhabiting a true Tuscan mansion.Our hosts, Dario and Monica, were beyond welcoming. Their warmth, attentiveness, and helpful guidance made everything effortless and enhanced every aspect of our stay.From al fresco meals on the patio to peaceful strolls through the nearby medieval village, every moment felt magical. This property is the ultimate Tuscan retreat, perfectly combining beauty, comfort, and authenticity. We cannot recommend it highly enough and are already dreaming of our next visit.

Det smukkeste sted og et virkeligt fantastisk hus med den smukkeste udsigt. Ro, afslappet luksus, saltvandspool. God stil - har alt hvad du behøver. 4 badeværelser og et ekstra toilet. Super udeområde, hvor der også lufter sat overdækket loungeområde ved poolen. Rigtig mange små kroge og nok læggestole til alle. This is a truly beautiful property in a tranquil setting with breathtaking views. The property has all the conveniences you could wish for, which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We received a warm welcome from Monica and Dario who also provided some tips on local attractions and restaurants. I cannot recommend La Crocetta highly enough!

Wow! Just wow! We loved everything about this villa. It was even better than described. The villa was in excellent condition- high end finishes, so well maintained. It had a beautiful lawn for kids to play on, the pool was amazing with beautiful views of Tuscany. We had a family of 9 and we had plenty of space for all. The hosts provided wonderful recommendations for local attractions/activities. Highly recommend the restaurant at the top of the hill in the little village. It’s rustic and charming - order the tortellini and steak- you won’t be disappointed! Also, the larger town of Lucca isn’t far and is adorable! Really great shopping, restaurants, and bike rentals. Biking the walls of Lucca is a must do! Overall, can’t say enough wonderful things about this stay other than I wish we could have stayed longer. When you dream of time in Tuscany, this is it!

Een fantastisch huis op een prachtige locatie. We werden heel fijn welkom geheten en na een korte rondleiding was duidelijk dat we ons hier prima konden vermaken. De woning was brandschoon en zeer compleet. Naast voldoende slaapkamers en sanitair is bijvoorbeeld ook de keuken voorzien van alles dat je nodig hebt. De tuin is aangelegd in meerdere verdiepingen met een prachtig uitzicht op het dal en omringende heuvels/bergen. Het bijbehorende zwembad ligt op zo’n verdieping.Parkeergelegenheid is er meer dan genoeg.Supermarkten en eetgelegenheden in de nabije omgeving.Niet alleen de woning en de tuin hebben bijgedragen aan de positieve ervaring. Ook de property managers hebben dit. Zeer vriendelijke mensen waarmee heel goed gecommuniceerd kan worden in het Engels. Ze hebben dagelijks voor ons klaargestaan.

Heaven on Earth

My family (we were 9) had the most amazing time at this gorgeous property. The place is very special and you truly experience the magic of Tuscany. In addition of the beautiful Villa, Monica, who manages the property is a jewel, always attentive to our every need. Grazie cara Monica. And Dario is just someone you want to keep as a friend forever! I can't thank you both enough. The only bad experience was having to leave! A pronto!!

Wunderbare Villa

Die Villa ist wunderschön inmitten eines Olivenhains gelegen mit Weitsicht bis nach Lucca. Das Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt, mit einem grossen Garten und einem schönen Pool, und das Haus ist hochwertig und modern ausgerüstet. Dario und Monica waren sehr hilfsbereit und haben uns mit guten Tipps für Restaurants und Ausflüge versorgt. Wir können die Villa vorbehaltslos weiter empfehlen.
