Our Stay in Istanbul
The property is big & comfortable and very ideally located in a touristy location where there is plenty to eat, plenty to do and plenty to shop.
However, the roads are narrow and hence taxis do not come all the way. Also it can get very crowded and quite noisy during the nights.
Another thing that is a total dampener is the fact that this property is situated on the 5th floor and u have to take 80 steps to reach the top. What we basically did was come down once in the morning and then go up at night. But Kadir was gracious enough to send us help to assist in bringing the bags n luggages up and down which was totally helpful and I m very grateful for.
On the whole it was a lovely experience as the property is very comfortable and homely!
Spacious apartment with a view of Galata Tower and square
Stylish apartment in a bustling neighborhood with a good mix of tourists and locals. Bustling means that it is somewhat noisy at night. And it's located a block from a mosque, so the predawn call-to-prayer is another sleep interrupter. The location is on top of a major hill and on the 4rth floor of a building without an elevator. So be prepared to climb. All-in-all we really enjoyed our stay (as did our children) and would stay here again.
Lovely apartment with spectacular view
We stayed in the apartment in April 2019. It is modern, well designed and spacious. It has a spectacular view of the Galata Tower and is ideally located for exploring the city. There are lots of local places to eat and drink - we particularly enjoyed the Guney Restaurant just 3 minutes walk away, and the spectacular rooftop bar at the wonderful Georges Hotel. Only downside being that the local area is very busy and at night very noisy. Perfect for young people who want to be in the heart of the city but less so for families.
A fabulous childhood dream realised
Thank you to the very hospitable owner of this apartment ....I grew up with stories of Constantinople ....modern day Istanbul and so with great excitement approached this trip...
We live in the countryside in surrey England ....so asked about noise as we knew this was a fairly central apartment...the owner explained that it would have some noise ...which it did but it certainly didn’t spoil our fun.....and we were there over a local bank holiday ...we loved this apartment....from start to finish...we arrived via the new airport but we had no delays or problems there and Kadir (the owner) had organised a car for us ...which took a lot of the hassle out of the trip from the airport...many people mentioned the stairs ...the owners representative met us ...and disappeared up the stairs with 2 large suitcases like it was nothing and Kadir helped us with them on the way out ....so suitcases and stairs no issue ....the apartment with its high ceilings and no clutter was the most wonderful base for our five night stay in this fabulous city ...the bathroom well epuipped.....lots of towels and loo paper....the windows opened really wide so easy to air the apartment in the morning too....the kitchen and washing machine and tumble dryer were all great too....although we hardly cooked and didn’t do much washing ....the area around the apartment is full of lovely original shops, cafes and restaurants...so not much need for cooking .......we used local trams and walked everywhere ...very very easy from the apartment ...everything is very close....the supermarket is a few steps from the apartment...easy to miss as the front looks like a fruit and veg shop.....beds were very comfy ...the shower in the main bathroom was great and oodles of hot water ...we used the roof terrace a couple of times...but we tended to go to the roof terrace at the House Hotel near the Galata Bridge ....which had lovely views over the Bosphorus....on our way back from a busy day sightseeing ....the Pera Palace an easy walk too does the most gorgeous cocktails .......I have nothing but praise for this wonderful city and this apartment .....enjoy .........
Head over heels with the apartment
My family stayed in the apartment, which has a stunning view of galata tower. The location is easily walking to most sites that are important history sites if the area. There is a great night life around the apartment as well as grocery areas and if needed pharmacies. Every thing you need is inside the apartment.
Given the chance we will stay again in this apartment once we return.
Utilize they service provided by the company for site seeing and drivers. We wish we had, we had previously made other arrangements.
This is a definite place to stay, safe and secure, as well as close to all areas.
Galata Tower Views!
This is a beautifully renovated apartment with Galata Tower views, though you will have to walk up 8 flights of stairs, which is a nuisance taking luggage up and down. The neighborhood/location is superb with access to restaurants and shopping all day and evening but street noise is a factor if you desire a more quiet atmosphere. Kadir was an amazing host, always available when needed. I would recommend this place for adults without children.
In Istanbul, apartments don’t get any more ideally located than this. Walk 100 m North and you’ll be at the southern end of the Istiklal Avenue- the mile-long, popular entertainment and shopping area. A walk along Istiklal will bring you to Taxim Square. Continue walking 100 m in the opposite direction and you’ll find yourself at the Golden Horn and Galata Bridge, where you can catch the tram to the historic district of Sultanahmet. There you’ll find the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi.
