Misleading Overview
Property was listed as a few steps from the beach. How about more than one km or a little more than 950 meters. We had asked to be let out of the property as my wife had recent hip replacement and the distance was way too far for her to walk.
More linens would have been nice, no shampoo, and bath tiles very slick if slightly wet. Shower leaked some and that was dangerous for my wife and even myself. We left after two nights and the manager would never make time to visit with us. Very unfortunate and very costly as we went to a hotel by the beach. I have copies of all the communications, on the app, or lack thereof with the manager as we tried to communicate with her on the VRBO app.
Here is the text of my message to the manager on Sept 12:
Guisy and Alfredo,
We have decided that we cannot stay here and will check out on Friday Sept. 13th. Your house is not as described in your VRBO advertisement and communications. Although it is clean, etc., it can't have been rented much prior to our visit, if at all. It is not within walking distance to the beach as advertised, we were not aware of a dog on the property and the house lacks may conveniences you would normally find. No napkins, paper towels or shower soap or other just basic necessities such as salt and pepper that most VRBO properties contain and we have stayed in many and have rented houses in different areas.
The instructions for garbage and trash disposal do not match the bags provided. We came to Italy to relax and be close to our friends and they are close, however the things I have mentioned have forced us to look for better accomodations. Also there was not a hair dryer, (we had to call to get one), nor is there a iron or ironing board as advertised. (manager said in later text that she had informed someone on arrival...we never even saw or talked with her) Therefore we have booked a place to stay that can provide what one would expect. Your house is very clean but consider more rughs as the floor is very slippery especially in the bathroom even if feet are just damp...dangerously close to slipping, as well as the above amenities.
My wife can barely walk around outside as it is steep and even difficult to walk to the bus stop. We need to be somewhere that is more convenient and accessible. If we do not hear from you we will leave in the morning and leave the keys on the kitchen table.
