Lovely place to stay

Our family really enjoyed staying here, going to the nearby grocery places to get food to cook and then voyage into the city core. On weekdays it can be a 18 minute walk to any tube station, and on very hot days the nearer bus was too hot to want to use. On the weekend the closer Kensington Olympia station is available - so be aware you may have a longer journey on foot with luggage on some days. The main bedrooms are in the lower floor, which makes for wonderful, cooler temperatures for sleeping in the summer heat. Overall, we thought the place was great.

Lovely house, super location

The house is perfect for a group of friends as it offers plenty of space and three bathrooms. It is located just a few minutes from a bus stop or the next tube station.

Great location for accessing sites but the road is very busy so the front bedroom can be noisy. Recommend a better hot water system as we only had warm water.

Many Positives; a Few Negatives

If the room arrangements work out for you, this can be a wonderful vacation rental. The location is on a quiet street. Walk out the door to the right and enjoy the Crown and Cresant pub. Walk out the door to the left, to the end of the block, and then right ½ block to a Costa Coffee, or better yet go left at the end of the block for a few blocks for better coffee and breakfast treat choices (in our opinion). The place is clean and well cared for. Everything is modern and in good shape. There are ample kitchen utensils etc. Everything works. We had substantial communication delays with the host, but these improved immensely when we started texting instead of messaging via VRBO. We had two couples and two twin 17 year olds, so the reference on the VRBO site to “bunkbeds” was critical. That was not correct. It is two twin beds which are mulled together and cannot be separated. The equivalent of a queen bed. We would not have rented had we known that. Also, the reference on VRBO as to two showers is correct only if you agree that sitting in a bathtub and using a hand sprayer is a shower. Also, there is a step-down in the master bath, and if you forget it you will do a face plant into the toilet, so we put something at the bottom of the lower level to remind us when we got up in the night. I don’t want my negative comments to detract for the generally positive aspects of this unit. But it wasn’t right for us.

Plumbing & electrics warrant a review !The dishwasher flooded, extractor fan was broken.The issues remained unresolved , although acknowledged by the hostA number of electric sockets were loose & not fixed to a wall. One of our party received an electric shock from one of the sockets . The extension cables had a number of defunct sockets.Nil fire blanket, nil fire extinguisher in the flat.A couple of tea towels / additional kitchen rolls , more glasses & a teapot would have been appreciated .On a positive note : clean, comfy beds, fluffy towels, ample hot water& a central location .

Decent Place to Stay

The hosts were very helpful, and that was great. I did find the property to be dirty, however. It was TIDY, but there was a lot of dust on the faux plants in the house and quite a lot of black mold in the bathrooms. There is clearly some water damage in the building. Also, the piano is out of tune and the outdoor area is not as pictured. I had hoped to have a friend who lives in London over for dinner outside, but it's just an old, dirty picnic table so we ate inside instead. In terms of the neighborhood, it's about a 12-15 minute walk to the tube and I don't know if it's located near a police station, but there were sirens every evening about every 30 minutes on the busy street. I was disappointed, but again, the managers really tried to make the best for us. I think with some serious mold removal, water damage corrected in each of the rooms, and the outdoor cleaned up a lot, it would be an adorable place to stay.

Perfect base

Perfect base for 4 adults and 2 young children, a few minutes walk from Olympia tube or 15 minutes walk to Earl’s Court tube. Short walk to pubs, restaurants and cafes. Small Sainsbury’s supermarket a short stroll away. We were able to park our car outside the flat and because it was a weekend it was free until 8.30am Monday and then it was pay and display. The flat had enough space for all our needs. The outside space could be so lovely just needed a tidy up. Vincenzo the host was very helpful when contacted with some small issues, he responded immediately with a solution. Thank you.

Good news and bad news

The apartment was very clean and spacious. The two and a half bathrooms were a huge plus. The kitchen and living area was large and the kitchen was well equipped. It was conveniently located to a tube station and restaurants were within walking distance. The big negative was the beds. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. They were little more than a pads spread over springs. Every morning, we got up sore and stiff. I had read reviews that mentioned the uncomfortable mattresses but I thought, “how bad can it be?”

Kensington Apartment

Poor communication from host. Instructions sent less than 16 hours before check-in. I had to contact Vrbo to contact host for check-in instructions. Apartment space was Good size. listing states it accommodates six people, but reality sleeps two couples and two small children. Third bedroom is a broom closet with a trundle bed with pull out squeezed into it. There is absolutely no room to store luggage or to move around. Listing states 3 bathrooms. There is a 1/2 (micro) bathroom on main floor and 2 full bathrooms on lower level. One has a shower and one en-suite with a tub with a shower handle. Very, very small space. No curtain over the bathroom window so very little privacy. Open garbage left on front door step for days from previous occupants. Could not find common disposal bin to clear it. Overall disappointed in property.

Unavailable Property Manager

The property manager did not send arrival instructions and I had to call two Vrbo representatives to get him to contact me. He still did not send any instructions. I had to text him when I landed in London (after a 12-hour flight from San Diego). Guests should not have to use their phone to get arrival instructions at Vrbo properties. We rent vacations properties often and never have had such a difficult and stressful check-in process.

Great Stay

My family of 6 stayed at this Kensington home over Christmas. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen/living room areas were spacious and lovely. Communication with the host was easy and immediate. I would definitely recommend this space to friends.

Beautiful Flat. Great neighborhood.

We had a wonderful month-long stay in this spacious Kensington flat. Well equipped and very close to bus and train. Almost uncountable great restaurants within walking distance. Vincenzo was a pleasure to deal with. Courteous and super responsive.

Perfect

It was perfect - the place was clean and 2-3 minutes walk from the metro. We had some issues with hot water at the first, but our host came the same day and sorted it out. Located nearby lots of cafees and shops, less than 10 minutes walk from the park. It could be great if heating was a bit better, but host is always here to help you here.

Now you have the chance to experience staying in an area of the capital where houses cost 7-figure sums. But, of course, thanks to your hosts and Airbnb, you can stay for much less. This luxury 3 bedroom property is ready to make you and your fellow guests feel really welcome and comfortable. The whole place is presented to a very high standard, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and socialise. The living area features everything you’d expect to find in a modern home. An inviting sofa. A flat screen television. A dining table with room for everyone to sit down together for a formal meal, a quick snack, even a games session. Other features that make a home a home are all here, including houseplants and prints on the walls. You also get a garden, which is a real treat for somewhere so close to central London.
