About this property
Spacious two bedroomed acccommodation in idyllic rural setting
The Loft is situated within the grounds of our family home in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan. It is in a private and peaceful location close to the award winning village of Pendoylan.
The spacious self-contained holiday cottage consists of two bedrooms, full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with dining area, ample seating to relax in and full use of our beautiful gardens.
The two bedrooms in the Loft are roomy and can comfortably sleep 5 - the ground floor bedroom consists of 2 single beds with a large double room upstairs including a single bed. There are two charming Juliette balconies to this property giving guests wonderful views over The Secret Garden and the surrounding countryside. Puffy duvets, crisp cotton bedding and fresh fluffy towels are provided as a matter of course in all our cottages.
The open plan kitchen/living area has recently been refurbished with new carpets and comfy sofas. You will find books and games for you to enjoy on the shelves and freeview TV for your enjoyment. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your self catering needs with ample crockery and glass wear. There is a fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster, washing machine, iron and ironing board for your convenience.
Guests have full use of The Secret Garden full of twinkly fairy lights which light up the trees, patio areas, bbq, fire pit and garden furniture (subject to availability). There is ample safe off road parking.
Our accommodation is pet friendly and we enjoy meeting our canine guests also. We do however politely request they do not sleep on the beds !

About the host
Hosted by Rosie
Simon and I have lived here at Duffryn Mawr since 2001 and have quietly built a friendly self catering haven for our guests. We renovated the main cottage first which was built in the 15C and moved in March 2001 with our one year old daughter Izzie. Our son, Paddy, arrived in December 2003 so our family was complete. Once we completed the cottage we started work on the stone barn and it evolved into our lovely holiday cottages which we opened in 2005 just in time for the Wales v Ireland 6 nations Grand Slam decider. What a fabulous weekend with the cottages filled with Irish fans - such a blast! Over the last 16 years we have built up a lovely, relaxed atmosphere for all our guests but boy could I tell you some stories - it has been a colourful ride and we have made some long term friendships with our returning guests. We strive to give a very warm, Welsh welcome and whilst we encourage guests to have peace and quiet we are on hand should you need any assistance with anything during your stay.
