Situated in the Heart of the Valleys. Enjoy the local attractions and come home to relax in front of a cosy log fire, or soak in the Hot Tub with a glass of wine. You can enjoy the warmth of the log fire while using the barbecue in the winter months., toast mallows or roast chestnuts. Very near Bike Park Wales, We are only twenty minutes from the Beacons, 38 mins from Swansea, Porthcawl, Barry, Penarth, Cardiff Bay/Marina, Ogmore, Llantwit Major Beaches, Dan yr Ogof Caves, Stunning Waterfalls.
20 mins from the Mountain Railway, and 15 to the Welsh Whisky Distillery visitor centre,

Less than 5 mins away is a New State of the Art Leisure Centre with lots of facilities including snooker, Swimming pool., with babies pool and diving pool., also the Dare Valley Country Park with Horse Riding and laser shooting, amazing trails and walks and stunning mountain views. Aberdare Park is only a few minutes’ drive, with a massive lake filled with wildfowl, large Swan and Dragon Boats, a massive children’s playground, splash-pad., bowling green, tennis and lots of walks. Make sure you take a picnic and plenty of bread to feed the ducks, swans and squirrels.

Great area for exploring south wales. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. So lovely, cosy and clean . The hot tub and play park for the kids was an additional bonus. Beds were comfy and It had everything you need. The owners and House keeping lady were really helpful when we had any questions. Perfect get away and we would definatley return.

We stayed at the house for 4 days in January as a group of 7 with 3 children. From the minute we booked Diane couldn't have been more helpful. Diane, her husband and Emma the housekeeper all welcomed us on arrival and showed us around the house. We had the most amazing stay, the house has everything one needs and more. It was spotless , the kitchen was well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The locals were very welcoming and friendly and everything we needed was close by. None of us wanted to leave. We hope to stay again in the future, do not hesitate to book.

Absolutely amazing! Right from the start, good communication, I asked quite a few questions and they got answered. Emma, the house keeper went over and above for us. She was great. She got us biscuits and milk for when we arrived, she put the heating on ready for us. The house itself wa perfect. It made our stay the best. Hot tub was great and the open fire was even better. Amazing cottage

Lovely cottage with close access to all the main sight seeing spots

Lovely cottage well equipped with all amenities you need for a home away from home . The guest was very proactive and comms were brilliant prior to our arrival and during our stay. The cottage is located close to the major sight seeing spots all within 30 min driving distance - four falls trek , Cardiff , caves etc . Nice hot tub to top off the lovely stay :)

Lovely little get away

Perfect with the children and babies. So much room! We loved visiting the parks and local area and so handy to be able to walk the buggy down to Asda!! Hot tub and play area used every single day. Thank you so much we loved our stay

We stayed here with another 3 friends. On arrival we were met by Di & Bill. Great hosts and very friendly and approachable. Loads of information about places to visit etc. Very clean and tidy and the hot tub was a bonus. Beds were really comfy. Locals were very friendly. Would definitely go back.

Family getaway

Lovely house to stay for a big family , everything you need in the property and more . Great outdoor area for relaxing and for little ones to play . Area good and quiet not far from the town and shops and there are takeaways across the road . Within easy reach of many holiday favourites beaches , parks , castles etc there is great selection of leaflets for ideas . We would return in the future . Thank you Diane for hosting us .

Warm welcome by Diane. She explained how it all worked. Beds very comfy. Very clean too. Shower hot. Hot tub fantastic. Quiet during night but really did not notice as shattered after full days out. Chinese across the rd brilliant too.

New Years Break

We arrived and was welcomed by a very lovely friendly host called Diane. The house was decorated up for Christmas and was so cosy and welcoming. Diane was so knowledgeable about the area and there were loads of leaflets about local restaurants and takeaways along with local attractions. Beautiful place

Everything was perfect from beginning where we had everything explained by lovely host until the very last day. We enjoyed spending time in the cottage and will highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Brecon Beacons area. Great base for exploring, but same time it feels like home. It was 7 of us all together and we had more than enough space. Hot tub and big outdoor play area is a big bonus. Lovely, lovely place. Highly recommended x

South Wales Homes has been renting private homes since 2000. 266 is our first Holiday Cottage venture. We have done our utmost to make this cottage a Haven for your enjoyment. We have been extremely privileged to have lived in this area most of our lives to enjoy the mountains and scenery and the many places to visit which are all close at hand. We live locally, and will always be accessible. We all speak English, but one of our team can converse in Turkish.

Why they chose this property

266 captured our hearts the first time we walked through the door. The charming wood beams, the stone wall and the old stone staircase to upstairs. This cottage was different, and we fell in love with it straight away. Since purchase we have completed many renovations, including new wood staircases, but retaining the 'olde worlde' stone staircase, although you can't use it. We're sure 266 will capture your heart as it did ours.
