Very pleasent experience

Clean, comfortable, big houseParking, pool and hot tub all in excellent conditionFunctional kitchen, outdoor kitchen, everything like we wanted.The only thing is pretty noticeable musty smell in few rooms(that is a problem in many houses I assume since humidity is high on the island all year long) we opened all the windows and it aired out, but dehumidifier in bedrooms would be great!overall amazing stay!!!

Wonderful home in a quiet neighborhood, only 15-20 minutes to Ponta Delgada or Ribeira Grande. The back is amazing with pool, hot tub, and ping pong. Bedrooms spacious. New large refrigerator in kitchen. Gated property and plenty of parking. Only suggestion would be more/better towels for our use. Highly recommend!

We were robbed.

Things were great at first - really enjoyed the house and yard. The day before we left, we were robbed. It was unclear who to talk to as the main host is no longer in charge. Many doors and windows on both floors do not lock or even close. Very disturbing to pay for vacation and have your safety compromised on top of losing your things. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

Beautiful but strong mildew smell

The home is absolutely beautiful but it had a really strong smell of mildew. Especially in the bedrooms so I slept on the couch for the entire stay. I tried to open the sliding doors to air the place out but I couldn’t open half of them and unfortunately it was chilly so I could not keep the door open all night long. Communication with owner prior to stay was fine. Never saw them but honestly never tried. My adult sons were able to tolerate smell and the alternative would have been to relocate. We were gone all day and basically just slept there so I also tolerated it. The cleaning crew came early on the last day of our stay. A gentleman had the entire outside scrubbed down before our 11am required exit time and additional cleaning crew where in the driveway waiting for us to leave prior to 11am. Truth be told the place was VERY clean.

Nice property- needs maintenance.

The home is nice and spacious and the backyard is beautiful. We appreciated that the fridge had been stocked with some sandwich items for our arrival- that was really nice. Overall we had a nice stay- as a group of two families with teenagers we had room to spread out (except there isn’t enough seating in the den- only one sofa which can fit 4 people if they sit body to body.) That being said, there were also many maintenance items that need attending. The house smells of mildew- particularly upstairs. Almost none of the locks function on the doors- in the master bedroom the entire handle comes off the sliding door when you use it. The kitchen is spacious and easy to cook in- however a major upgrade in the quality of knives, wine opener, etc. should occur. The host should provide at least one little soap and some shampoo in each bathroom. The house has so much potential, and just a little maintenance would go so far. We do appreciate the opportunity to stay in this home though.

Wonderful house!

We are a large family group with 8 adults and 5 kids under 5 and this house was perfect! Catia was a wonderful host and made the check in and check out process super easy. She answered all of our questions and was responsive—especially for little things like a loose toilet seat and changing the hot tub water. The backyard was perfect with a pool plenty of seating and a hot tub. The only thing we wish we knew in advance is that the upstairs has two bedrooms but no bathroom. We had to do some last minute room switching since we have very small kids with lots of midnight bathroom visits but it ended up working fine for us. There are 3 bathrooms inside and one outside. One of the highlights of our stay was when Catia organized a chef from their restaurant to come to the house and cook for us. The wine and food were delicious and it was such a special treat for us. Highly recommend for anyone else staying at the house! The location was perfect and centrally located on the island. It seemed like we never had to drive more than 40 minutes. All in all wonderful stay and a great house!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property

Everything was as expected based on the pictures and description at the site. The owners were very nice and helpful when we arrived and when contacted during our stay. We would definitely stay again, our local family loved the house as well.
