Hillside House, a bright 2-bed, 2-bath cottage in Connemara. Enjoy stunning mountain views from a quiet spot on the Bog Road to Roundstone, just a 7-min drive from Clifden. This modern, comfortable home sleeps 4 and features a cozy stove fire, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private garden. Perfect for a peaceful getaway with easy access to local attractions.



Discover your home away from home at Hillside House, a true gem nestled in a quiet and idyllic spot along the famous Bog Road to Roundstone. This bright and airy 2-bedroom cottage offers modern, comfortable living with fabulous mountain views.



Living Room: Unwind on one of two comfy yellow sofas in front of the warm stove fire. This cozy space is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Connemara.

Kitchen & Dining: The open-plan kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, and a microwave. A large countertop with a breakfast bar and four stools is ideal for casual meals. The dining area, which seats four, features a panoramic window layout offering fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and hills.

Bedrooms: Both spacious double bedrooms feature black-out blinds for a restful night's sleep.

Bedroom 1: Offers views of the famous Ben Mountain range and includes an open-plan wardrobe and a private ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 2: Overlooks the garden and mountains and also has its own ensuite shower room.

Upstairs Den: A perfect hideaway for children or anyone looking to switch off. With a comfy chair, a footstool, and a selection of books and games, it's the ideal quiet corner.

Utility Room: A separate utility room houses a washing machine and dryer and provides ample storage space for wet gear, fishing equipment, or strollers.



Included Amenities: Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, heating, a baby cot/crib, and a high chair are all included in the rental rate.



Check-In: Standard check-in is between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Please contact us in advance if you require a later check-in time.

Check-Out: Please check out by 10:00 AM on the day of departure.

Beautiful home

Beautiful cottage, our second stay here! Spacious, spotless, well equipped with views of the mountains and idyllic peace. So close by car into Clifden, but away from the hustle and bustle in minutes. Amazing!

Excellent Family holiday

We have just returned from a week's stay in Hillside House and it was fabulous. The house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and is so well equipped with everything you could want during your stay. The location is perfect and with having two young kids with us, the big gated garden was ideal for them. It was our first visit to Clifden and we will definitely be back!

Loved our stay here - beautiful property, spotless & well maintained, great location as a few minutes drive to Clifden & all the buzz of the town, to return to the cottage & tranquillity, nothing but the sound of the birds! Comfy beds, spacious & plenty of natural light in the cottage. Will return!

Perfect in every way

Accommodation is to a very high standard. Communication between Connemara Lettings and our Host was effortless and contributed to a very relaxing break. Fabulous building and facilities. Everything you could wish for. Owner is local and available by phone. Attentive to detail and requests for help / advice. —Spectacular views from rear of house fabulous views of the recent “super moon”. —Highly recommended.

Perfect base for exploring Connemara

This house was a perfect base for 2 couples to explore Connemara Park and the scenic driving routes & sights on the Wild Atlantic Way. Spotlessly clean, plenty of room for all of us and a well-equipped kitchen. Especially enjoyed the neighbour’s friendly cows in the back field checking up on us at breakfast! You absolutely need a car to access & stay at this location, but once you find it using the GPS (Eircode) coordinates provided, it is a short drive to the lovely town of Clifden with some good restaurants, pubs & grocery stores. Wish we had been able to stay longer. Excellent value for the money compared to other properties where we stayed elsewhere in Ireland.

Fantastic Stay

This is our second time at Hillside House and it was just as good as we remembered. Warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. Had a really great week. Beautiful walks right from the door, five minutes into Clifden. Just perfect for us. Loved it. Thank you.

Idyllic cottage

The Hillside House has everything that you would want for your stay and is a short ride to Clifden center. Watching the cows graze at our backdoor every day was very relaxing.

Beautiful House in perfect location.

Such a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Stayed for a week and wished we had booked for a second one. Will definitely go back for another stay. The house is amazing and a lovely feeling when you walk in. Everything we needed for a great holiday was provided. Won’t be staying anywhere else.

An attractive, large house in a nice position but lacking the finer details

A lot of thought has gone into building and equipping Hillside House but please could you provide softer pillows, chests of drawers in the bedrooms, more teaspoons, bedside lights that are bright enough to read by and a printed information paper not bits of paper stuck on the appliances. We never did work out the heating system.

Holiday in Connemara

We arrived home safely again. We liked it very much at Hillside Haus. Cleanliness, location, equipment very good. I have two criticisms. The mattresses from the left bedroom were no longer the best. I also think it's better if the bedrooms were equipped with two single beds. The second point is that the toilets in the bathrooms, which somehow did not fit properly and were loose.

Lovely house in great location

We had a great stay at Hillside House. Warm, comfortable, light, well-equipped and very clean. The owner, Martin was really helpful. It’s a lovely location really near to Clifden but also feels like you’re “out in the wilds” as well. A short drive to beautiful beaches and the mountains. We’d love to come back and were very sad to leave. Thank you.

What a house

Thanks for a wonderful week in your house. There was nothing about the house that we could complain or be dissappointed with. Although the house is a little bit outside of Clifden, It is still within cycling distance. if you are interested in social walking go to the discovery point at Derrigimlagh and follow the history trail around the old signal station. Or walk from the house up to Lough Fadda for a walk into the Wilderness of Connemara. Also visit Inishbofin & Diamond Hill. The house itself has everything you need,

Lovely house

A very lovely house inside and out very modern the beds however are not comfortable all the pillows which are very big and not sumptuous which was a shame and I would advise anyone to keep the windows closed in warm weather as we were eaten alive by a midget other than that a lovely house to stay in

Beautiful House and Location for a Summer Vacation

We fell in love with this house and its surroundings - Everything was perfect from start to finish! The house is immaculate and modern and suits our family of 4 perfectly. The kitchen/house has everything you need for a self-catering holiday and is very spacious. We spent most of our time sitting in there and out on the patio, looking out on the gorgeous views. It's also in a super location with Clifden only a few minutes away! It was our best family holiday to date, and even though we were out and about for most of the day, the house and its surroundings definitely added to the overall experience. Having somewhere so lovely and clean to go home to after a long day was the icing on the cake, and we can't wait to return next year!

Excellent House and great base for Connemara

Excellent house and good location to base yourself in. Very clean house which allowed us to relax. No concerns around hygiene. Will need a car but is a short drive to Clifden and Ballyconneely and Roundstone not too much further. Host was friendly and there were no issues on arrival or departure - in fact went out of his way to return items to use that we left behind. Would recommend particularly for family
