We've Rescued, Raised, and Released over 500 Monarchs. Kids of all ages can help us find eggs in our gardens and see caterpillars, chrysalises, and help tag and release Monarch butterflies.
We've Rescued, Raised, and Released over 500 Monarchs in the last 3 years, and we can teach you how, too!
Plus, no matter what time of year you join us, we can show you our video clips of a caterpillar turning into a chrysalis, emerging as an adult butterfly, and even a Monarch egg hatching - on request, of course. We're happy to share a little or a lot - your preference. Either way, you'll leave with memories that will last a lifetime!
Wake up to a spectacular view of Emigrant Peak to the east and the Paradise Valley to the south. Our home is 10 minutes to Chico Hot Springs for gourmet dining, swimming in the hot springs pool, massages and pampering at the Day Spa, horseback riding, and the historic saloon, as well as several Yellowstone River fishing access points along Hwy 89.

Monarch Butterfly Enthusiasts
Your home away from home:
If you love wildlife and flowers, this is the place for you! We planted a huge Bio-Hedge that runs the length of our driveway and is filled with trees and shrubs selected to feed and attract birds and wildlife. We later planted a Certified Monarch Waystation, which is a garden with the right conditions to support the entire monarch life cycle. As a result, in the spring, summer, and fall, our home is surrounded by butterflies, a resident bunny family, chirping songbirds, and assorted raptors cruising by for mice and voles. The wraparound deck with table and 4 chairs, propane grill, picnic table in the garden area, and a spectacular view make dining outdoors delightful.
Our home has great views from every window, Wi-Fi, air conditioning (you'd otherwise simply melt in July and August without it,) accommodates 4-6 adults comfortably, with a King Tempur-Pedic bed in the bedroom and Queen sofa bed with an upgraded "air-over-coil" mattress in the living room. It's twice the thickness of a standard sofa bed mattress and oh-so-comfortable! We also have a queen-sized air mattress for the floor if you need it.
The master bath has a 6’ long Jacuzzi tub, stall shower, plenty of counter space, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, bath and hand soap, hair dryer, and soft, fluffy towels. The living room has the upgraded sofa bed, a loveseat, two rocker/reclining arm chairs, and entertainment center with 65” 4K HD Smart TV with Dish service and hundreds of channels and movies to choose from.
The dining room features a dining set that expands to seat 8 people comfortably. The kitchen has granite countertops, microwave, ice maker, glass-topped stove and oven, rice cooker, wok, crock pot, 4 slice toaster, 12 cup coffee maker, all eating and serving utensils, including chopsticks, and a desk that is laptop friendly.

Do you know the best times and places to see bison, bears, wolves, elk, river otters, pika, or Rocky Mountain sheep?
Yellowstone is too big to see in a short trip; there are so many delightful choices to consider! You might be asking yourself, "Where do I begin?"
All our guests receive Free Travel Planning starting a few days after you book your stay!
As a wildlife photographer with years of experience in the park, Leo has prepared an extensive Yellowstone Guide with details on the top places to see, the best routes to take, and how long it will take to drive to each area (including time allotted for possible "bear jams," "bison jams," or "elk jams.")
We will first send you an overview of the top attractions (thermal features and animals) and then help customize a travel route(s) in order of your priorities. Relax and have confidence that you’ll be at the right place at the right time to maximize your chances of seeing your favorite things!
Although you have a private entrance if you want to access your "Penthouse" from the deck, guests normally share the front entry door. After greeting you, we’ll head downstairs, and you’ll head upstairs to your private 1200 sq. ft. upper floor. Each floor has a lockable door for security. Also, the prior owner was a concert pianist and held piano lessons in the basement. The home has exceptional sound-proofing. Noise transmission is not a problem. You won't hear us. We won't hear you.
We’ll also occasionally share the wrap around deck (I need to water the garden and refill the birdbath) and laundry facilities. You are welcome to use the lawn and garden picnic table, but please don't pick the flowers or disturb the monarch caterpillars or eggs.
Interaction with guests
Our home is very easy to find and off a paved road, so you won’t be covered in dust when you arrive. We’ll greet you at the front door, give you a quick tour (if requested), and make sure you’re comfortable. A “Guest Guide” manual will be available with details on the closest restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, post office, bank, bakery, café, and local attractions. Of course, you may also call us if you need help or have additional questions.
Our home is situated on 4 acres in a peaceful, quiet, safe, rural area with only 4 neighbors in sight. The stars are brilliant after dark and the views are spectacular in every direction.
A car is recommended. We have parking for 2 vehicles. It’s only 30 minutes to Yellowstone National Park, 1 hour from the airport at Bozeman (BZN,) 4+ miles south of Emigrant (complete with a General Store, Bank and ATM, Gas, Bakery, Saloon, Bar & Grill,) 30 minutes south of Livingston, and 30 minutes north of Gardiner and the North Entrance to Yellowstone.
Our home is 10 minutes to Chico Hot Springs for gourmet dining, swimming in the hot springs pool, massages and pampering at the Day Spa, horseback riding, and the historic saloon, as well as several Yellowstone River fishing access points along Hwy 89.
