The Country House, situated on the hill of Bargiano, is an integral part of an area of more than 10 hectares of unspoilt nature, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and wheat.
It was originally a manor house, in which bread was baked in the large wood-burning oven that is still there, for all the farmhouses in the area.
Carefully restored to its original splendour, with the recovery of ancient materials combined with all modern comforts, the structure is entirely in exposed stone, wooden floors, terracotta tiles and artistic handmade floors. Inside, exposed stone walls surround fireplaces lined with handmade terracotta tiles.
It is spread over two floors. On the lower floor, in addition to the kitchen and a dining room, there is a living area with a fireplace and a billiard room. The upper floor is divided into seven double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, five of which also have a small living room.
An additional small flat, equipped with a double bed, masonry kitchenette and private bathroom, is located on the ground floor, garden/pool side.
The entire house is equipped with heating, TV and Wi-Fi. Guests have at their disposal a wonderful 16 x 8 metre swimming pool.
What was once a place of gathering and deep rural culture has now become an oasis of tranquillity surrounded by greenery, overlooking one of Umbria's most evocative panoramas.
It is the ideal starting point for nature walks, mountain bike excursions or horse riding. There are numerous places of historical and cultural interest that can be reached in a day trip: Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, Civita di Bagnoregio, Pienza, Perugia, and various natural spa resorts such as Bagni San Filippo.
The Country House is located near the protected area of Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana and can be reached from the A1 motorway exit of Fabro just 14 km away along a stretch of unpaved provincial/municipal road.
