The Solaris Suite is the main floor of the Salish Sea Beach House B&B it boasts ocean views from every room. (we call it paradise)
800 Sq ft of private tranquil open concept living. Lotus flower front door.
Newly redone original oak floors and beams.
A fruit bowl, bread, granola, milk, cream, butter, yogurt and a well stocked kitchen, custom mahogany cabinets, fridge, convection/microwave oven, kitchen basics to get you going.
One bedroom is separated by Shoji screens and has a custom mahogany queen size bed with floating night stands, Bamboo mattress, Luxury Bedding, Quality egyptian cotton sheets, Room darkening blinds. Cable TV, Netflix, Prime and WiFi.
Gorgeous Bathroom with safety in mind, adjustable hight shower, raised profile toilet, Plush Turkish bath towels and robes, deep soaker tub, In-floor heating.
Living room has a comfortable sofa bed (double) for extra guests (2 max) and a Single chair and a half sofa bed (sleeps 1)
BBQ, Private beach, English Garden, Private entrance, Free guest parking.
This spectacular property is divided by Lochside Dr. and while the Beach House itself
is situated across the road from the Salish Sea there is 10,000 square feet of park like property with walk on beach access for you to explore. The ocean side has two levels, both levels have large picnic tables for your enjoyment. The lower level is accessed via the driveway and gives you direct access to the beach and is for the exclusive use of Salish Sea Beach House guests. I am sorry but the Solaris Suite is not pet friendly.

All We Hoped for and More!

My friend and I were looking to have a relaxing and fun short getaway. It was all that and then some. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. Shelly had left many incidentals that made it feel like home; some delicious breakfast items, charging dock, interesting library, comfortable bed and other accommodations, heated bathroom floor, a beautiful view with beach access, a lovely garden to sit and have breakfast, and the best bread ever!! She even helped us book a massage :) It was just great. We will see you again, Shelly.

Great location, wonderful host, beautiful property

This was the last leg of our BC journey, and we were very happy with the clean and cozy, beautiful, first floor loft style house, and an enchanting garden. Shelley is such a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful host! The little details were so pleasant to discover :) The bed and the bedding were super comfy and very clean (Virgo mom approved hehe). The heated floor in the bathroom was a very pleasant surprise during a quick barefoot nighttime washroom visit. My nine-year old enjoyed the beach combing and her lovely chats with Shelley. Seaside shopping area and restaurants were a quick 5 minute drive away. Overall a wonderful experience, and would definitely stay again and highly recommend the host, the property and the location! Thank you Shelley!! your visitors from LA :)

Pristine spot on the Salish Sea

This spot was lovely in every respect. The garden was carefully tended and quiet lots of birds, hummingbirds in particular, interesting artwork and a cat. Inside there was interesting artwork everywhere the supplies for breakfast were delicious and Shelly was very accommodating.

Perfect home base

It had all the essentials and more - very clean, well-equipped and a comfortable bed. The robes are a nice touch. The water's edge is just across the street on a private lot - a lovely way to start or end the day. I enjoyed the trail along the water, away from the road. Just a mile up the trail is Tulista Park, with an art gallery, platground, etc. Feels very private, with garden in the back. My second time there and I'm sure I'll return.

Peaceful yet spectacular retreat

What a luxury for me to stay in this beautiful and relaxing B&B! Everything here from the breakfast items provided ,the heated floor in the bathroom, and very comfortable bed has been thoughtfully selected for her guest's comfort. Shelley is a very welcoming hostess and available if needed. Of course the setting on Vancouver Island is magnificent I look forward to staying here again.

Peaceful & relaxing

Such a quiet, relaxing and peaceful getaway. Shelly was very nice and welcoming, and there was no pressure to socialize, something we appreciated as two introverts. The bed was soft and comfortable, there were dividers to offer more privacy between the sleep area and the windows, lots of seating. Loved the soaker tub! Kitchenette had basic amenities, and we were provided with fresh fruit, bread, milk and other dry goods, enough that guests can prepare basic meals if they choose to. Across the road the property goes down to the waterfront, and both myself and my husband enjoyed some relaxing hours down here. Very close to Sidney, and it's a very calm and chill town that we enjoyed exploring.

Beautiful place to stay and tour the island

The outside is a bit dated, but inside the groundfloor apartment and the beautiful, mystical garden in back were perfect. New everything. The property includes beachfront, but it is across a busy two-lane highway. We intend to come back and stay here again.

Beach getaway

What a great place! Far enough outside the hustle and bustle of the city but still close to plenty amenities and day trips to the gulf islands. We loved the private beach access full of rocks, baby crabs and beautiful views as well as the walkable trail to Sidney. Shelly was such a great hostess and her place has the most beautiful garden. She was very knowledgeable of the area and provided us with great personalized service with a busy toddler. Thank you so much Shelly for a great few days!

Treasure of the Salish Sea

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Salish Sea Beach House. Every time we turned a corner on the property we found a new delightful surprise. Our host, Shelley, was kind, professional and very helpful. We spent time combing the beach for treasures and just relaxing. The accommodations were beautiful and cozy. It was obvious that much care and thought had been exercised to make sure our space was perfect. A bowl of fresh fruit awaited us on the the dining table, there were multiple selections of coffee and tea, wonderful staples for breakfast, and the bed and bedding were beyond comfortable. We felt pampered and well cared for during our stay and when we return to Vancouver Island our first priority will be to check on the availability of this hidden gem.

A lovely home away from home.

What a lovely home away from home. The cottage was well stocked. It was within walking distance of Sidney By the Sea, and close to the airport. Very relaxing and clean. The view was amazing and the yard was a “hidden gem”.

Quiet, friendly, great location

We enjoyed the breakfast supplies fresh bread, yogurt, fruit, granola, coffee options kuerig pods/pot. Lovely walk along the water to Sidney, less than a couple km. Beds comfortable. Fabulous water views from kitchen window.

Salish Sea B&B

The accommodations were spacious and very well equipped with separated kitchenette/dining area from living/sleeping section with great views of the Salish Sea and on bike/walking path to Sidney centre. The hostess greeted us on arrival, providing local information. We stayed a week, rented bikes and very conveniently travelled by bus to Victoria.

Beautiful properly, close to popular destinations

Shelley is an excellent host and her property is lovely. I wondered how the open concept and proximity to a busy street would be; it is not a problem. When the doors and windows are shut, you barely hear traffic, which slows substantially at night. The view of the sea, as well as the garden out back and front are lovely. Shelley even greeted us with the kitchen stocked breakfast items! I mentioned we are GF & DF so she found bread and yogurt we could have! What a lovely surprise that was. Parking is on sight and getting to Butchard Gardens, the butterfly conservatory and a grocery store were easy. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Salish Sea house and would plan to stay again. Thank you!!
