Apartment at good location for short stay

The apartment is on the first and second floor. It has a small bedroom, kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet. The living room has quite some space. The location is very close to the Noorderplatsoen park and about 2 km from the Grote Markt

If you’re wanting a nice romantic weekend in a lovely apartment then your partner might be looking for a divorce afterwards. However, if you’re a casual traveller willing to live in what is effectively student accommodation then it’s fine. Herman, the owner is a very nice chap.

Herman was a great host, giving tips and recommendations. The apartment is approx. 20 minutes by foot from the city centre.

Nice place for short stay

The apartment is cozy, but I would say too expensive for little comfort. Nevertheless we liked it and the district of Oranjebuurt a lot.

Safe spot

Family like neighborhood that made us feel safe walking everywhere. Bus line (that we didn’t use) and grocery store down the street. It was nice to have a small kitchen to prepare and eat our breakfasts as we watch the neighborhood come alive in the mornings. The kitchen could be a bit cleaner, and I did some extras for my own sake. Beds and bedding were clean, and that was important to us. Shower and towels could have been better. We didn’t use the living room space other than to keep our luggage. We spent our days exploring Groningen, and this apartment served us well as a safe base.

One-month stay in August

I was very satisfied with my stay, and I'll be happy to return if the opportunity arises. This is a very comfortable apartment in a great neighborhood, and Herman was an excellent host. Things were in very good condition, except for a couple of normal maintenance problems that arose during my stay, and which Herman addressed politely and promptly. The kitchen is small, but very functional (with a pleasant view of the street below, as in the other rooms). Noise from the street or from neighbors was very minimal, never a problem. There is a bus stop very nearby; very convenient, if needed. It was August, so the weather was occasionally quite warm. That was ok, as several windows can be opened, a fan is provided, and there's even a skylight that opens for ventilation.

Moved after one night

I booked this accommodation as I thought it was in the old town (this was not the case). The host, Hermann warned me of the stairs for access, but as I was used to stairs in a similar property in Amsterdam, I thought that they would not be a problem. However these stairs were, in my opinion, extremely dangerous as were the stairs/steps within the apartment. The access to the apartment was through the first floor flat passing by a kitchen and toilet beside the entrance door. We stayed only one night of a five night booking. In comparison with previous stays elsewhere, in my opinion, this was little more than upmarket student accommodation.

Convenience and price

I stayed here while getting my daughter moved in for her study abroad semester. I picked it because it had the amenities I wanted and the price. It does have quite a few of the steep stairs, which is a Netherlands thing. The layout is odd and the place is very small, but it worked for me. The bed was comfortable. The outlets were minimal and in the middle of the walls, making it interesting to charge electronic devices. The towels had a terrible odor - not sure if they need replacement or it was the detergent, but it was not pleasant smell either way. Coffee maker and coffee grounds, however only enough grounds for 2 pots of coffee. I didn’t ask for more - it was nice he provided them. It is a 20 minute walk to city center, and a beautiful walk. A grocery store is about 5-10 minute walk away, but other than that, not many options that I saw.

Der Gastgeber war freundlich beim Check in ich hab mich gleich willkommen gefühlt. Das Apartment ist zweckmäßig ausgestattet man findet alles was man braucht mir gefiel die Küche und das Apartment insgesamt gut.Ihr müsst nur top zu Fuß sein weil die Treppe zwischen Küche und Wohnräumen sehr steil ist.Mit einiger Übung hab ich den Teller Bolognese aber auch hochbekommen ;)Super idee das oben im Wohnzimmer Wasserkocher und Kaffeemaschine sehr annehmlich.Das einzige was nicht so top ist das ein Regal in den Wohnraum ragt und man die Tür zum Badezimmer nicht komplett öffnen kann und so immer nah an der Treppe vorbei muss.Insgesamt hab ich mich schnell "zu Hause" gefühlt und wohl gefühlt. Bushaltestelle direkt vor der Haustür und die Innenstadt auch zu Fuß gut zu erreichen

Fijne gastheer, denkt prima mee. Locatie niet geschikt voor mindervaliden. Je moet rekening houden dat je twee trappen moet lopen. Alle basisvoorzieningen waren aanwezig, ruim ingericht keukentje. Creatieve indeling van ruimtes.

Die Wohnung liegt sehr gut, nahe zur Innenstadt und absolut gut für Ausflüge mit dem Fahrrad.Der Zustand der Wohnung ist jedoch grenzwertig: sehr steile Treppen, Bad im schlechten Zustand.

Es war o.k.

Die Fotos passen; etwas in die Jahre gekommen gepaart mit niederländischen Improvisationen. Die Angabe zu den Parkplätzen sind sehr positiv formuliert, denn man muss schon ca. 25min laufen (genauso weit wie zum Grote Markt in die andere Richtung), nur Ent- und Beladen vor der Türe, was Herman aber sehr gut unterstützt durch persönliche Kommunikation, bezahlte Tickets für jeweils 30min bei Ankunft&Abfahrt und einem Plan zur Dauerparkmöglichkeit. Für 4 Tage war es o.k.
