The flat is located in the Sixth District of Paris in an 17th century building on the Seine which has been completely restored. The building was originally a private family mansion. Even today it is maintained in much the same manner by my family and the only two other couples who share the building. This arrangement makes the building very quiet,secure and private. allowing antiques and engraving to line the circular stairway.

My flat is located on the third floor. There are approximately 70 steps with three landings spiraling up from the court yard with antiques and engraving lining the circular stairwell. There is no elevator.

There are 90 square meters of living space featuring two bedrooms, a comfortable bathroom, a large living and dining area and a modern, fully equipped kitchen. All the windows in the flat have a view of St. Chapelle, but just off the living room is a writing desk with a view of the Palais de Justice and St. Chapelle looking out across the Seine.

The flat is sunny and bright with modern and antique furnishing throughout including the original hand made brick floor, original oak ceiling beams and restored linen covered walls. It has been newly decorated throughout with 18th and 19th century prints and modern double paned windows in a style to mimic the original windows and which eliminate the occasional street noise.

The master bedroom has a comfortable 160 cm bed (larger than a queen-size bed), the room is warm and welcoming and except for the wall mounted TV is furnished with period pieces and paintings, all accented by soft lighting.

The 2nd bedroom, has a queen size bed which converts into 2 twin beds and looks down into the courtyard and out over the river.

The bathroom has a teak and glass shower, warm wooden floor, wall mounted toilet and stone sink for easy cleaning and in additional to the mirror above the sink, a full length mirror. The bathroom walls are covered with elegant and striking hand made tiles from the south of France.

The building is located on a very quiet, safe little street which pours a few feet away offering views in one direction of the Louvre and the other Notre Dame. It is a pleasant walk to many famous destinations such as Notre Dame, The Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Quartier Latin, Saint Sulpice Church, Jardin du Luxembourg, Musée d’Orsay, Invalides, Concorde, Madeleine, Grand Palais, Champs Elysées - and of course the walking paths along the Seine River going toward Jardin de Plants and the Natural History Museum and Zoo.

It is in very close proximity to two main subway stations: Saint Michel and Odeon which also provide direct access by rail to Versailles , Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. Numerous bus lines can be found nearly to take you conveniently all over Paris.

You can call all over France and certain other countries for free (except for cell phones [any number starting with 06 in France] and numbers starting with 08 for which there is a charge) from the telephone in the apartment, and there is a WIFI connection if you are traveling with your computer

I want to share my apartment with people who will love and cherish it as much as I do. I live with my family here in this apartment during the year and I rent it during some vacations. So you will really feel at home!

For a confirmed reservation, I require the payment of 50% of the rental fee by wire transfer. I also need the day of arrival 500 Euros as deposit refundable the day of departure.

This is a non smoking apartment and no pets are allowed.

Awesome location, quiet and very comfortable apartment.

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay for us. Very quiet yet centrally located. The beds were extremely comfortable and the full size kitchen allowed us to have dinner in a few nights. We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we are in Paris.

The Perfect Apartment

My mom, sister, and I stayed in this wonderful apartment for a girls' trip to Paris. The apartment was stunning and served us perfectly for our entire stay.

Everything we needed was there for us, and we were very comfortable. When the day was hot we opened the windows and a lovely breeze kept everything cool and fresh. The winding staircase is lined with antique prints all the way up, and we loved the exercise after our sumptuous meals.

One of the best features is the location. Being one block from the Seine and close to Notre Dame and some of the best shopping in St. Germain allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to and feel like we were a part of the city.

I would recommend this apartment anyone wanting to have a fabulous vacation in Paris.

Great apartment, great location, great assisting staff...we had a great stay!

We have stayed at many apartments in Paris and this is our favorite. We stayed there 3 weeks. First week with my mother who is 80 years old and the apartment was well suited for her. The neighborhood is fantastic and the apartment is elegant, quiet (it faces a pretty courtyard) and we felt we were in Paris even inside. It is located in the center of the 6th, you are a stone's throw from the Louvre, Blvd. St Germain,Notre Dame, etc. We stayed with our daughter and her friend, both 15, and felt completely safe with their being out and about. Near outdoor markets, shops and transportation, there is no better location in Paris (I lived in Paris for two years). The rooms are light and airy, the decoration is soothing, and the large TV and internet worked perfectly. The kitchen is very well equipped and we had some very good meals when we didn't want to eat out. The outdoor market ,supermarket, butcher, boulangerie cheese and wine store store nearby made our stay so pleasant and really Parisian. The reception upon arrival was excellent. We can't say enough good things about this rental and hope to be able to stay there again soon

Less quaint and charming. More quirky and tired.

I would not recommend this property. I have stayed at other Paris apartments and I thought this would be up to the same standards but it wasn't. The apartment was ok - nothing really great, kind of tired. The bathroom and kitchen need an update for the price charged. Delphine, the owner, only contacted me when money was due. I contacted her a few days before and asked for her contact info (not just the homeaway email) and the address of the apartment. She replied that she could send a driver to the airport to pick us up for 55 euros and he would bring us right there. I agreed and never got the address or any phone number - my bad. The driver never showed up. It was kind of a panic situation with me there with my two kids and husband trying to figure out where we were going (we just had that little map and pictures on the homeaway website) and hoping we weren't shammed. We took a cab for the same price she quoted and he got us right to our door based on the map. I recognized the outer door from the pictures. We found her name and buzzed in but no one would let us in for about 15 mintues. And then it was just into the outside courtyard but this was better than the little street. Did I mention it was raining? It was raining. I meanwhile am sending Delphine about twenty emails through the only way I know how to contact her - the homeaway email address. I'm getting no response. We waited another 45 mintues in the rain in the courtyard buzzing every few mintutes up to the apartment. We tried to contact Homeaway but their phone system was not recognizing ours ("push 2 to talk to an operator" but when we did nothing happened.) Finally, like an angel from above, a sweet lady from upstairs opened her window and announced that she was Dauphine's mom. She would be down in a few minutes to let us in the building. Delphine had mixed up our days and thought we were coming the following day. A few minutes later we were on our way up and the manager arrived (the mother called him). The cleaning lady was in the apartment. All said Delphine was expecting us the next day even though all my correspondence with her had this day. The cleaning lady took about an hour or so to finish cleaning. Delphine finally replied later that night saying homeaway should have given me the address and contact number - they don't, the owners do. And she blamed the whole thing on her driver and said she fired him. She did give us a bottle of champaign for our troubles. Se la vie!

Perfect Location in the 6th District

As many reviews indicate, the place is charming, a good value, and the location can't be beat! The place was extremely clean, with large living room table and two couches so plenty of space for a family of 4 to unwind. It was perfect walking distance to many popular sights, and on the best metro/RER line for things further afield such as Versailles and the Eiffel Tower. The small kitchen had everything needed for a short stay with dishes/silverware and bonus dishwasher and laundry. The kids appreciated the 2nd bedroom could be made into two twin beds, and the 160cm bed in the master was really comfortable. While we never met the owner, they were quick to respond to emails and made arrangements for airport transport making the process painless. Also, the stairs weren't that bad if you had manageable luggage.

So why not 5 stars? Basically noise. We were expecting minimal street noise since the apartment is set back from the main road and several floors up. The problem is the front (but not back) windows are single-glaze so we heard sirens, people yelling, and motorcycles during the evening/night. I'll just say we were glad it wasn't summer with windows open (remember no AC here). Also, the apartment next door has a shared entryway and a dog that would occasionally go nuts scratching at the front door then run back and forth through the upstairs howling. We're not sure why (to go out? someone came home?) but it was always startling.

Finally, I have some suggestions for improvement. It would be nice to have a guide book, metro/city maps, museum information, etc. for first-time visitors. Local knowledge is usually a benefit of using a rental but the meager book provided didn't even name recommended restaurants to find them. While the bathroom and bed linens were great, the towels were thin and had threads unraveling. Also, it would have been nice if the house was stocked a bit more with essentials. We only had 1/2 roll of paper towels, one small trash bag, and only two small rolls of toilet paper for 4 people for a week. Both soap dispensers in the bathroom/kitchen were empty, and no shampoos/soaps provided. Plus, After a long journey, it would be appreciated to have water/drinks or milk/coffee available (free or for purchase) in the fridge on arrival. Little things like this would go a long way towards the experience.

All in all it was a charming place with well-deserved positive reviews. With a few improvements, it would be amazing.

You sent me a mail to have Champagne and flowers for your arrival why didn't you ask for milk for the kids at the same time?!! There is coffee ,tea and water in the refrigerator. There are plenty of guidebooks in the living room I am sorry you didn't find them. Both rooms have double pans windows so there is no noise while you are sleeping. Paris is not a quiet city and living in the heart of the city makes it fun and interesting.....No?!!! Whatever it was a pleasure to share my place with your family and I hope you have enjoyed our beautiful city.
