The only but was the stair to go up, a second floor with spiral staircase, not the easiest to bring luggages up, we also had a baby stroller that we had to leave downstairs on the ground floor at risk of someone taking it, but fortunately no one did.The house itself is spacious, and very central.

Great place, great location

Great place, great host. Our only problem was that the pillow selection was sparse, very firm or firm was all we could find… just 2 “soft” pillows in the house. Also, a couple extra bathroom towels would have been helpful. Otherwise great place and great value in a very walkable area to everything.

Convenient location

Overall good place to stay, easy access to Vatican, under 15 min walk, Trastevere neighborhood for its excellent restaurants. Communication was good but slow at times to get responses, having to wait up to 2 days to receive an answer to my questions. We arrived well before the indicated check-in time and host was very accommodating, allowing us entry to leave our luggage in the apartment as opposed to the communal laundry room, which would have been at our own risk. The two rooms we stayed in (1 couple per room) had comfortable beds. One slight negative: based on the reviews of previous stays I inquired about the mold in the bathroom and was told it had been addressed, well, some mold was still present but not excessive, I’m sure they will address this. Finally, VRBO charges a cleaning fee which is not small, to still have to carry out your garbage, 2 flights down and to the street to avoid an additional $50 fee is something I must have missed in the description. Everything else worked as advertised and I would stay here again.

Not quite accurate

We stayed for three nights. The location is very good, and the well functioning air conditioning was much appreciated. The property, though, is not as nice as the online photos suggest. There is mold and lots of disrepair throughout the unit. It was not worth what we paid.

Not accurately represented - needs updating

This was our second trip to Rome staying in the same neighborhood. While the location was ok and ultra cool AC was welcomed after long 99F days of city walking, coming back to a mold-ridden shower was most disappointing. The moldy smell from the bathroom lingered into the main bedroom even after running the exhaust fan. The pictures are much brighter than actual. The advertised Nespresso machine not used due to significant opaque mineral build-up. Note that the laundry as “washer/dryer” is communal, and one of each to share across units.

Great base from which to explore Rome

The apartment was spacious and the 3 bedrooms and respective bed set up were perfect for our family of 5 adults. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable and the 2nd floor stairs and access wasn’t challenging for our group and the luggage we carried. Location was very central for us - 10 minutes from Vatican and 20 minutes other direction to the city center. Lucilla and Marco were easy to communicate with and very available before and throughout our stay. This is a winning property for exploring Rome in a few days

Great Stay in Rome!

My family loved our stay in Rome! The trip was short, so having a good location was key. We found the walk to Vatican City easy, and were able to walk to many of the main attractions across the river. There are several shops downstairs for a quick bottle of wine or snack. Check in was easy, despite our driver dropping us a street over. I had issues with accessing my VRBO app, but a phone call and email answered all questions. We were given a Youtube video that helped. The stairs were tough with luggage, but we managed. We were also thankful to find the laundry in working order. The apartment was clean, and well stocked. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. We did have an issue with the WiFi the first night, but I sent an email it was fixed the next day. Cannot wait to return to Rome!

Great place close to the Vatican

Great stay, 3 rooms, master with bathroom and AC, 2nd room with AC, and 3rd room with two twin beds good for kids. The only negatives I have are the WiFi speed is slow, and the stairs are spiral and difficult to carry larger luggage. Other than that the place is great.

Great Location

It was easy to get there from the train station on the 64/46 bus. We walked to the Trastevere, Vatican City, Campo di Fiori and beyond. When we wanted to save our steps, we hopped on a bus. The spiral staircase was fine. It may not be fun if you have a large suitcase, but it can be done. The photos are accurate, but they most have been taken on the brightest day of the year. I also struggled with this induction stove more than the other ones I found in other Italian locations.

Quiet get away from the noise of Rome

Worked out perfectly for the 6 of us. Location was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Rome. We explored the neighborhood after the days of sightseeing. Great location

Holiday in Rome

Our family enjoyed the apartment in Rome as it was close to restaurants and sights. The bedding and A/C kept us comfortable especially after sightseeing. Communication with property manager was perfect. I would definitely use again.

Great Vatican Home Away

Host was excellent and very friendly. Location couldn’t be better to access Vatican and many interesting places. Easy to access taxis and Uber at proximate crossroads. Place had everything we needed for family of 5. Very clean and good kitchen.

Great location and communication

This apartment was cute and provided us what we needed. The host was very helpful and always able to answer my questions. The bakery down at Piazza del Rovere had what we needed each morning and the mini market had everything else. The only thing I would suggest is paying attention to the picture of the stairs because that is how you get in and out of the apartment. Would be wise to pack 2 small suitcases instead of a large! Uber is amazing in Rome and finds the tiny street easily.

Things can be deceiving

I am going to give an honest review from a well seasoned traveler. It will be short... Pros: The beds were comfortable, hot water from the only shower we used, you have a cold refrigerator, they have air conditioning and you can walk everywhere. Cons: Wi-fi was almost non existent, very loud space from the street and ALL neighbors, black mold in one of the bathrooms (we didn't even use it), furniture had rips in it, kitchen had rust water, only 1 washer for 6 units and it was being used the entire time we were there (5 nights), smelled musty and again the noise was horrible from the neighbor's! Think real hard before booking here!

Perfect for a Rome Vacation

The property is perfectly situated, between the Vatican and Rome itself. It's next to the river and a short walk to restaurants and shopping. The apartment itself is quite large and was very comfortable for a week's stay.

The position of Santonofrio Colors is quite unique, only a few building block from the Vatican and Trastevere and to get to the Pantheon of the Trevi Fountain Piazza Navona all you have to do is cross the Tiber river and enjoy you walk through Rome and its history.
