About George Lyons
I live on the coast of Massachusetts but spend as much time as possible in Jackson. In the future I hope to retire to the mountains.I love the outdoors and all this area has to offer. I first came to Jackson as a boy to visit my uncle who owned the original home that was here. I would dream all winter of trout, hiking, exploring, and wild raspberries. I was fortunate enough to purchase the property years later. The original house burned down but out of the ashes came a new beginning. You can stay at cabin and immerse yourselves in the forest and not see a soul or head out to the village and beyond to civilization.
George Lyons purchased this Cabin in 1997
Why George Lyons chose Jackson
If you like the sweet smell of balsams (Christmas Trees), the mountains/ outdoors, and privacy this is it. When I arrive in Jackson I have no need to leave town its all here. Sitting in the brook on a July afternoon is heaven. There is also an outdoor shower to die for and no need for a curtain. A good book in the afternoon with all the windows open, and a mountain breeze -u need nothing else.I designed this cabin to meet all of the needs that make this place special.
What makes this Cabin unique
The mountains are the home also to many different species of wildlife. I believe I have seen most pass through my property-moose,deer,bobcat,coyote,bear,porcupine just to name a few. The variety of birds are too numerous to count. They fill the forest with beautiful music from dawn to dusk. Speaking of nightfall you can reach out and touch the stars. The rivers are stocked but native trout exist also. I am not a golfer but the 2 courses are challenging and open to the public.

Just what we were looking for
Quiet, Peaceful Cabin. Bob is an awesome owner and easy to deal with. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation spot. We will definitely return.
Great family look forward to their return in the future. They are experienced hikers who truly enjoy the outdoors. As renters they get a 5 Star + rating.
Wonderful, snowy stay in the perfect cabin!
We arrived with 8" of new snow for a ski vacation at local ski areas and out the back door! So much privacy and peaceful evenings spent playing cards, watching movies and sneaking out for a moonlight stroll up the trail. We will definitely return! And George was available for any questions we had and to inform us of local spots we shouldn't miss. This cabin is a treasure!
Wonderful place in the woods, but well placed for skiing and Jackson.
George was incredibly attentive and welcoming.
Absolutely Fantastic Trip!
George was phenomenal host and was available to anwser any and all questions we had. The house is gorgeous, private, spacious, and very clean with a unique Jackson NH charm surrounding it. Our family had an absolute blast and we hope to come back soon!
Joanna and her family are guests every vacation home owner desires. Joanna was upbeat, enthusiastic, and followed all house rules. Her respect and care of my property was 100 percent. Joanna and her lovely family are welcomed back. Truly the best folks you could possibly rent to.
My family (4 young kids + 2 dogs) stayed here for a 4th of July long weekend. It's functional and rustic, but not luxurious, which suited us just fine. We really enjoyed the quiet location paired with proximity to Jackson and Conway. Cabin is very much as described and is set up well for sending kids downstairs to play (and give adults some peace and quiet!). Strong LTE cell signal (at least on Verizon), so you can get Internet if needed. If you visit, plan to wear shoes or house slippers, as the flooring nails have raised heads and look great but aren't much fun to step on. Docking 1 star for mattresses that need an upgrade, a water heater that isn't large enough for a shower without a low-flow shower head, and a need for more/brighter lamps inside the house (especially over the dining room).
I am glad you enjoyed your weekend at our log cabin. It has been treasured in my family for years and we also love how peaceful and secluded the location is.
I appreciate your feedback and will look into what you have commented on. Thank you for your stay, keep the cabin in mind for your next family adventure.
