Beautiful clean place to stay, friendly owners with very helpful additude.
We loved our stay at the barn. We unfortunately were in town for an event which had us arriving late and leaving early each day - after the sun set and before sunrise each day. Our last morning we finally had the opportunity to see the beauty of the property. I hope to come back with not such a hectic schedule so we could take advantage of the great location. The Barn is just beautiful inside and out - thank you for working with our schedule as well, it was very much appreciated.
Had a great time, very hospitable hosts!
The host was very flexible with our schedule and having to get there a little later than normal. Enjoyed every aspect of the trip and was very accessible to the nearby wineries. Will definitely go back!
Nice, comfortable, relaxing place for 2 couples or small family
We totally enjoyed our stay at The Barn. Our only regret is that we wish we had planned a longer trip. We didn't really get a chance to enjoy the outdoors and the farm as we would have liked, but we were on the road visiting Carters Mountain and various wineries nearby which was very enjoyable. The Barn feels brand new, has comfortable beds and furniture. The setup is great for 2 couples. We enjoyed a relaxed evening around the gas wood stove and the next night played ping pong and the arcade game downstairs - never got to the pool table even though we planned too! The kitchen had most everything we needed - well stocked with pans/cookie sheets/etc and even things like plastic wrap and foil. The views are beautiful from the windows - we tried to enjoy the pond late evening, but it had gotten cold out and we didn't last too long. Scottsville is close-by for groceries and casual dining - The Tavern on the James provided the best $10 dinner I've had in ages!! We will definitely try to go back to The Barn or one of the other properties at Woodhaven.
As others have mentioned, we were greeted by Alicia, a very gracious host, and her dogs (which we loved!!). Alicia gave us a dozen fresh eggs, which made for a wonderful breakfast the next morning - as a girl from the suburbs - the freshest eggs I've ever had for sure!! We were given access to her farm as well, but just ran out of time to get a chance to visit the cows and their horse. Maybe next time!
This place is amazing!!!
My wife and I had an incredible experience during our stay at The Barn. First being greeted by Tom with a dozen fresh eggs! The place is beautiful and the owner spared no expense on the amenities. The bed was super comfortable as well as the pillows. The sheets were soft and the comforter definitely kept us warm at night. The high end appliances were used every morning for breakfast. The barn is perfectly located in wine country. My wife and I were please with all the area has to offer. I can’t wait to stay here again. There is only one negative which turned into a positive. There is no cell phone service. We didn’t mind!
Absolutely loved the barn!
We just spent 3 nights at The Barn At Woodhaven Farm and it was perfect! It's really set up nicely for 2 couples with a bedroom and bath on each end. The barn apartment is beautifully decorated, clean, bright, sunny, and generally awesome. The beds are comfortable with pretty white linens. The unit is supplied with just about anything you could possibly need. We watched deer in the field out back every morning. We walked around the farm and visited the cows, chickens, horse, dogs, and cats. Alicia and Tom were so nice and helpful if we had questions. When we arrived Alicia gave us a bowl of fresh eggs. We would love to go back again! I was sad to leave.
Beautiful location to get away from it all!
The barn is beautiful! We had a great stay here! Diana (the owner) was helpful and quick to respond. Tom and Alicia were gracious hosts and very welcoming and kind. Our kids loved getting to wander around the farm and look at the cows and chickens! The one thing to be aware of is that the barn has no window coverings, which made for very early starts with our kids in the morning and late bedtimes at night waiting for sundown. Otherwise, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back!
