A place that time forgot, tucked away between the salt pans of Tamarin and the beauty of the Indian Ocean, this traditional thatched roof 4 bedroom beach bungalow is ideal for families and friends. Nestled in the foot of the La Preneuse mountain and over looking the sea , this rustic charming bungalow with its wide open verandas and terraces and inviting pool and beach is a place to relax, enjoy and wind down. The bungalow has all the modern amenties and all of the old world charm. Nothing can describe the feel of this family beach house better than the word , "home"

A very special place

A lovely home from home. Superb location and a property full of character. Equipped with even more than you could possible need. Even an ice machine in the poolside bar. JUST GO!

Superbe, un petit paradis

La maison est parfaite et bien équipée, le cadre paradisiaque. Brinda est charmante et cuisine très bien. Corine nous a accueilli avec les croissants. Et nous avons passés un séjour très agréable. Seul bémol, nous avions eu l'accord pour rendre la maison à 13h à condition de libérer les chambres avant, mais Brinda est arrivée à 7h pour faire le grand ménage et nous nous sommes sentis obligés de libérer la maison avant l'heure. Nous avions nous même louer une journée avant notre arrivée pour avoir la maison dès notre arrivée matinale.

Merveilleux séjour dans un cadre enchanteur

Quel magnifique séjour pour notre famille (2 adultes, 1 enfant - 4 ans)! Une très bonne communication avant notre arrivée avec Corine, la maîtresse des lieux, que nous n’avons malheureusement pas eu la chance de rencontrer. Nous avons été dépaysés et transportés dès que nous avons franchi le portail. Le cottage et le jardin sont magnifiques et aident a l’évasion avec cette vue sur la mer et ces magnifiques couchés de soleil. Nous avons eu en plus l’énorme chance d’apercevoir des dauphins et cachalots depuis la terrasse de la pool house. Quel plaisir de rencontrer Jean Claude, un pêcheur local qui nous amenait du poisson fraîchement pêché le matin sur la plage. (Et merci pour ton cadeau souvenir à notre fils 😉) Enfin que dire de Brinda!! Un rayon de soleil qui a participé à cet enchantement. Merci pour vos petits plats exquis, merci pour votre sourire permanent et les moments passés ensemble. Nous espérons avoir la chance de revenir.

Fabuleuse maison en bord de mer

Je crois que c’est notre plus belle location…. Maison spacieuse et hyper bien équipée ( kayak, paddle, jeux d’extérieurs, jeux de société, cuisine au top, brasero, bbq) , vue magnifique , piscine privée sur la plage avec son carbet équipé avec une cuisine d’été . Ménage inclus chaque jour en semaine . Brinda peut en plus préparer le repas . Un grand merci à Corinne, propriétaire très à l’écoute et extrêmement sympa de nous avoir donné la chance de passer 1 semaine dans cette maison …. Mini bémol pour ceux que ça dérangerait, on entend les bruits de la route qui passe derrière…

Einfach nur Traumhaft... wir haben jede Minute genossen. Corine hat hier etwas besonderes und sehr authentisches geschaffen, die Erinnerungen bleiben unvergesslich.

Ein Stück vom Paradies

Großzügiges, sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes, historisches Strandhaus mit einem sehr schönen Garten und einem praktischem Poolhaus direkt am Meer. Ein perfekter Ort um einen Urlaub auf Mauritius zu verbringen, wenn man wie wir keine großen Hotels mag. Die Lage ist ein Traum, wenn auch anfangs etwas schwer zu finden. Aber wenn man weiß, dass die Einfahrt an der Hauptstraße direkt neben der Mauer mit dem Korallengemälde ist, ist es eigentlich kein Problem. Das Anwesen ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Wenn Sie sich selbst versorgen wollen, gibt es zwei kleinere Supermärkte ca. 5 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt (Food Lover‘s Market und London Way) und einen sehr großen ca. 10 Minuten entfernt (Super-U). Die Preise sind mit denen in Deutschland vergleichbar. Versäumen Sie es aber nicht sich von Brinda der Haushälterin kulinarisch verwöhnen lassen und besuchen Sie die Restaurants in der Nähe. Unsere Empfehlung ist La Bonne Chute in der Nähe des Food Lover’s Market. Wenn Sie tierlieb sind, füttern Sie bitte die einheimischen Vögel. Die meisten Vögel fressen Samen, die Sie im Supermarkt kaufen können, nur die Bülbüls (Schopf und roter Wangenfleck) fressen Früchte (Papayas gibt’s auch im Supermarkt). Mit der Zeit werden die Tiere sehr zutraulich. Wir waren oft von fast hundert Vögeln umringt. Ansonsten gibt es Eidechsen und Agamen im Garten, und Kühlwalda, die Kröte, die unter der Veranda am Poolhaus wohnt. Aber keine Angst, es gibt keine wirklich giftigen Tiere auf Mauritius. Abgesehen von einigen Ausflügen, haben wir fast jeden Abend einen fantastischen Sonnenuntergang am Strand genossen. Sowohl der Garten, als auch das Strandhaus und der Pool sind nachts wunderschön beleuchtet. Brinda, die Haushälterin und Corine, die Vermieterin sind beide sehr liebevoll und hilfsbereit, und haben das Herz am richtigen Fleck. Alles in allem ein erholsamer, entspannender und perfekter Urlaub.

Beach House mit Atmosphäre

Sehr gemütliches und stilvoll eingerichtetes Haus auf großzügigenm Grundstück mit tollem Strand und wunderbarem Poolhaus. An Ausstattung ist alles vorhanden, was man sich wünschen kann, inclusive Schnorchelsusrüstung, Seekayaks und SUP. Das Riff liegt unmittelbar vor dem Strand und ist schön zum Schnorcheln, schwimmen ist allerdings ein bisschen schwieriger. Die Tamarin Bay ist zu Fuß (ca 20 min) und mit dem Auto ( 5 min) gut zu erreichen und bietet neben Badestrand auch Surf- und Tauchschule, sowie Kayakverleih. Wir ( zwei Familien mit zwei Teenagern) hatten eine wunderbare Woche in diesem wunderschönen Haus und unsere Gastgeberin Corine hat uns mit vielen guten Tips und interessanten Informationen versorgt. Eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung von uns und nochmal vielen Dank an Corine und ihre Crew

Everyone has a story , here is a small parenthesis of mine: I am born in Mauritius, but have spent most of my life outside of my home island. My family left Mauritius when I was quite young and we emigrated to South Africa as a family, we lived in Johannesburg where I attended primary school. We then crossed the Atlantic and settled in the Mid West USA, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I terminated middle school. Our path then led us to Athens, Greece where I graduated from an International high school. My University years then led me Leysin, Switzerland and to Madison Wisconsin. My life has been filled with numerous travels and island hopping. I lived 15 years in the Caribbean on the island of St. Martin FWI , operating a catamaran boating company before returning to my original island, Mauritius. I enjoy meeting people, sharing ideas and learning about different cultures. i enjoy photography, cooking (love the diversity of our local cuisine ) and water sports, sailing, kayaking and most outdoor sports.

Its a family property, belonging to my Grand parents who are Mauritian by birth but who originate from France and England and emigrated in the 1800's . The property , the beach bungalow, which we locally call "campements" has remained in the family all these years . Our objective is to maintain the property and to keep it in its original state, to keep its authenticity and its soul, to make it available to visiting family and to modernize it for todays comfort and lifestyle.
