About Claudia Cope
My Father, Peter Cope, built this home from hand with his many boat building skills. He based it on his boyhood memories of a summer home his grandfather had built in 1907 on the Pocano Lake Preserve. His aim was to create a home where family gathered to play and eat and laugh together.
Claudia Cope purchased this House in 1983
Why Claudia Cope chose Wellfleet
The house has a warm and cozy feeling of post and beam and natural wood while accommodating up to nine people. It is convenient to all the natural beauty that Wellfleet has to offer.
What makes this House unique
The wrap around deck is a wonderful place to enjoy cocktails and dinner while watching a summer sunset

Great quiet location and a comfortable stay
Loved how each room had a slider so the house stayed cool. There were fans if you needed it but we were fine with the windows opened.
Beautiful, quiet property! Excellent for a family or couples getaway.
This lovely home helped me girlfriend and I regain some peace, quiet and tranquility. The house was clean, well-kept, beautifully decorated. We had quick access to Provincetown, the shore. Claudia communicated well with us and provides a great stay!
Beautiful, clean, well-appointed house
This house was great! It was super clean when we arrived, and had everything we could have wanted to make our stay comfortable. We cooked every night and found all of the kitchen equipment we needed (and more!) impeccably organized in the kitchen cabinets and drawers. The location is convenient to both Wellfleet and Provincetown. Our host was super responsive, answering any questions we had promptly. Overall a great find!
Very very nice place!
We had a wonderful stay, all 7 of us! The house was more magical than expected. The host Claudia was very responsive and generous. She is likely to hear from us again next year.
This home has a peaceful sense of place!
We have spent the last 2 summers at this marvelous, roomy, and well thought out Wellfleet home. It is very close to everything. It is a short drive in to town, or over to the kettle ponds, and the beaches. The kitchen is well stocked, the living room invites lingering, and the 5 bedrooms each have their own vibe. Ample parking, and decks off each bedroom, make this a great spot for friends, and family to enjoy everything Wellfleet has to offer.
I hope to see you again next year!
Wonderful week in lovely, unique home.
Family of four plus guest had a wonderful time in this spacious, airy home. Although we had perfect weather, a rainy day wouldn't have been a problem as due to the outstandingly creative and thoughtful design of the house, you feel like you are outside when you are inside! The queen bed loft is beautiful -if you are an early riser (I am) to be awoken by the sun rising through skylights after falling asleep with the stars in sight overhead is really amazing. Bedrooms are comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful and the kitchen is amply stocked with cookware, plates, herbs and spices. Gardens around the house are lovely. Although the house is close to route 6 you never feel aware of it as the house is surrounded by large trees and greenery. But when you need to go somewhere it's convenient.
Tons of books to read and ping-pong table in basement was a huge hit with my kids. The location is one of the nicest in Wellfleet , especially if you like a bike ride or modest walk to beach (you can walk to Omaha Beach off King Phillip-about 2/3 mile, Burton Baker about a mile, and the larger Indian Neck with parking about 2 miles from the house). It's super easy to drive to Lecount Hollow (ocean) which is across route 6 - watch the seals as the sun goes down over the Atlantic.
We could not have hoped for a more beautiful place to enjoy the most special Cape
I'll make sure to put your dates in the calendar for next year!
Easy access to beautiful ocean and bay beaches as well as pristine, spring fed, kettle ponds.
