Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

1+ bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Imagine sipping wine by candlelight on the porch while listening to the loons in the lake below on a warm, starry summer night. Come and enjoy our beautiful log cabin with front and back screened porches on Sheepscot Pond. Canoe with paddles and life vests available. One bedroom with queen size bed. There is a sleeping loft with two twin beds. Completely furnished kitchen and full bath. Laundry in the basement. The cabin is located on nearly 60 acres of piney woods with a small, private waterfront. It is heated for the cooler months and has become a favorite with families and honeymooners alike. Autumn is an especially wonderful time to be in these woods where you are surrounded by the glorious fall foliage.

We have a beautiful setting where our quests can enjoy our wonderful New England woods and waterfront. Explore the woods, fish from the dock, canoe around the lake then sit on the screened porch, enjoy the pine scented air and listen to the loons in the evening. Or turn off all the lights, step outside and behold an amazing sky. The cabin is heated for the cooler months. There is a ceiling fan to keep the air circulating in warmer weather. Sorry but no pets, no smoking, no hunting.

Peace and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the turkeys and the waterfowl. Didn't catch any fish and didn't see the moose. Sleeping was absolutely wonderful. Your ears hurt because there was no noise. Even in October we swam and the water is clear and refreshing. High adventure when we caught the tail end of the hurricane on our last night and the power was out all over Maine, even at the airport in Portland. We appreciated the heads up from the owners and it was only a minor inconvenience. They took good care of us. Great location and easy to explore.

Tranquil Maine Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent labor day weekend here as a last minute getaway and are so happy we did! The cabin is extremely well-kept and clean and had all the basics taken care of. Our goal was to find a quiet place to spend a few days and enjoy the weather, canoe, grill, and get out of the city and this accomplished just that. Has a fire pit right by their access to the pond, and you were just hidden away enough so that privacy was never an issue. Even the bed was comfortable! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to unwind and disconnect (meaning you don't care about getting wifi or stellar phone service). Good local diners nearby as well (recommend Lori's café for breakfast!). Barbara was very responsive and her instructions and recommendations were excellent.

Paradise in the woods

  • 5 of 5

If I could give this place a million stars, I would. Such a gem! From check in to check out, Barbara was GREAT!! The cabin is secluded but easy to find. It was spotless, cozy, very nice, and honestly - the pictures do not do it justice. We had a great time relaxing, hanging on the dock at the lake, grilling, listening to the loons in the screened in porch, and walking the grounds! Thanks again for sharing your piece of paradise with us - we can't wait to come back!!
