The Reading Room is a cosy retreat in the village of Fulbrook near Burford, the village overlooks the Windrush Valley and is a stone's throw from Burford with shops, cafes, deli's and restaurants. This delightful luxury self-catering accommodation in the Cotswolds has a bright open plan living space with woodburner. Enter the property into the kitchen then walk through into the sitting room with comfortable seating, table and chairs for dining and their is access to the garden. An idyllic bolthole to explore the Cotswold attractions and fully unwind and relax.

Short Break in the Cotswolds

Excellent location, for visiting and exploring the Cotswolds. Off road parking was a bonus. Quiet location, even though the Reading Room is next to a main road. Would certainly book again, next time we visit the Cotswolds.

Wonderful location with comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen. The house was perfect for the two of us and we loved being able to walk into Burford for breakfast or dinner. The pub just up the road was excellent. We would certainly stay again! It was an easy day trip by car to Stonehenge, Oxford, Leicester, Bath, and London.

Excellent location - nearly perfect

Cottage is in a great location and had all the amenities you could ask for. However it was starting to look a little tired and could do with a lick of paint in places. The cottage was value for money but this was due to its location.

Beautiful cottage in a great location.

The most beautiful Cottage in a great location. We loved our break at the Reading Room The cottage is tastefully decorated and so quiet and peaceful. Spotless accommodation and the decor is fresh and yet so cosy. Just a ten minute walk into Burford with it’s charming restaurants and cafes. So much history to discover and loved visiting the small villages nearby and the walks through the fields. The perfect cottage winter or summer, highly recommend as the owners have put a lot of thought into making this cottage the perfect home from home.

Lovely property. Enjoyable stay.

This lovely 2 bed cottage in Fulbrook just outside Burford was charming and relaxing. The owner had pretty much thought of everything in terms of equipment to facilitate a comfortable stay. Great bed. Lovely log burner in the lounge with provision of kindling, logs and fire starters. On site parking for our vehicle. Only slight niggle was my personal dislike of ‘shower over the bath’ and shower curtains generally but that’s just me. The power of the shower was perfectly adequate. So If you’re looking for a home from home, then I would definitely recommend the cosy calm of the Reading Room. Also, customer service was brilliant….on returning home I found I had left something in the cottage. My husband phoned the owner and she straightaway offered to send it on at no cost. Very grateful!

Beautiful home in a beautiful location

We stayed here as two adults and a 10 month old. Perfect size of home and the hosts couldn't have been friendlier. The house was spotless and the furnishings in top condition. We will certainly come back.

Good enclosed garden

The enclosed garden was a real asset. The cottage was sparkling clean and tastefully decorated. Being of a certain age it would have been beneficial to have a slip proof mat for the bath.

Lovely Stay

It was absolutely lovely to stay in this lovely, comfortable, and walkable cottage, with off-street parking. The hosts stopped by and introduced themselves and they were so kind. The garden was a great place to be and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Enjoyed our stay

Good location for exploring and discovering the Cotswolds. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had a lovely secluded garden. The only downside comment we would like to make is that older people or people with disabilities might find it a bit of a struggle to climb into the high sided bath!

Delightful comfortable bolt hole with good access to amenities.

We very much enjoyed our short stay at The Reading Room. It has been carefully renovated by Bob and Jane who made assiduous efforts to ensure we were comfortable. The cottage is one of the better equipped self catering cottages we have stayed in. On the edge of Burford it has great access to the town's amenities via a 5 minute walk but without the crush of visitors.

Ideal position

Ideal position just a short walk into Burford and 100 yards from a very good pub. Beds are super comfy and the whole feel of the cottage is cosy. The accommodation is well equipped and clean. It is a great base for exploring this part of the Cotswolds with some great walks, spectacular villages and Blenheim Palace all within a short drive.

Fabulous cottage, great location

Cottage is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. We appreciated the provision of basics (tea, coffee, condiments etc). Disappointed to find no starter pint of milk or any other 'welcome' items. Hosts, Bob & Jane, were very helpful and responsive. The cottage does back onto a main road so if road noise is an issue then this isn't the cottage for you. Easy walk into Burford. We would stay again. StayCotswold was excellent re communication and ease of booking.

Relaxing and comfortable base for exploring

Thank you so much for sharing your delightful Reading Room with us. Comfortable beds, dark bedroom curtains, and all the amenities we needed with a short walk into Burford and access to lovely hiking trails. We really enjoyed your various recommendations including Blenheim Palace, dinner at the Lamb Inn in Shipton-u-Wychwood, and most of all the short walks to lunch at the Carpenter’s Arms.

Lovely property in great location

Once again we found the Reading room an excellent place to stay. Its location allowed us to get to several places of interest in the area - the villages, Blenheim Palace and Diddly Squat (which lives up to its name by the way!) The Property itself is furnished beautifully and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed comfortable. Off road private parking is right by the property and the friendly owners live opposite. Booking through Stay Cotswold was straightforward. We would stay here again.
