About the host
Hosted by Ally Cairns
Hi! My name is Ally. Myself and my partner Jason run Deveron Valley Cottages. We live here in eleven acres of beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside .
We have two gorgeous, cosy but spacious barn/cottage conversions and two Finnish style log cabins one of which is situated in the woods next to the River Deveron.
We also have ‘Sunflower Cottage’, a snug one-bedroomed traditional cottage which was previously the farm workers' accommodation.
All cottages have log burners and are centrally heated, well maintained and are equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay with us. We are family friendly and pet friendly.
We are situated near the town of Aberchirder (Foggie) Aberdeenshire on The Whisky Trail and Castle Trail, and are only half an hour from the picturesque harbour towns of Portsoy, Banff and Cullen.
A trip to the award winning Portsoy Ice-cream shop is well worth a visit!
In the other direction is the Cairngorms National Park and The Cabrach located in rural Moray which is a sparsely populated area ten miles wide by eight miles long consisting of mountainous terrain. It is one of the top thirty most remote zones in mainland Scotland.
Aberdeen is only an hour's drive away, while Inverness is 90 minutes away. We are the perfect base for discovering the glorious rural eastern coast of Scotland. Whether you want to go walking, fishing, exploring the rich history of the country, or prefer to relax with a glass of fine whisky and enjoy the peace and beauty of this rural paradise, we have it all!
