A fantastic family Christmas getaway
Living away from the area, we wanted a property that would allow us to bring our whole family together over Christmas, including 12 on Christmas day.
Croxton House was the perfect location. Spacious but not overwhelming, a dining room big enough for what we needed, a location. That was rural but not too far from local amenities.
Becky was a fabulous host, with subtle Christmas decorations and thoughtful additions, making sure we had enough of everything we needed to cater for Christmas. Our host also left us some Christmas treats which was a lovely gesture.
We had six adults and two dogs staying in spacious rooms and which never felt cramped.
The gardens and local area are also very pleasant.
A couple of notes for people staying. It's worth bearing in mind that this is a large old house so can get cold when the heating is off. And if you do like to walk dogs or go for a stroll there are not a lot of pavements in the immediate locality so take care. While local amenities are close they are a drive away.
Decorations are In the style of the property, although the bathrooms are a little small and not quite in keeping with the rest of the house, but they were always clean and perfectly functional.
The house is well maintained and while the decor is not modern It was extremely well kept and very clean.
We did have some concerns about the host and family living in an annexe of the house. But these concerns where unfounded, they live in a property adjoined to the back of the house you see in the pictures and a no time did we feel that we were sharing a property.
Importantly it felt like home, which is a credit to Becky, who is an excellent host and provides a wonderful property which was perfect for what we wanted.
