The Hornblower Vacation Rental Condominium on the Beach is located at the Sugar Beach condo resort complex, United States Virgin Islands - rated Number One Vacation Rental Condominium resort in the USVI and BVI.

Our Condominium name is derived from Conch Shell Hornblowing, a familiar melody on the island; and the owner who is a lifelong saxophone player and has always been drawn to the seas, Hornblower is ON-THE-BEACH! Yes the BEACH is YOUR VACATION BACKYARD on the Caribbean Sea! Our vacation rental condominium is on the GROUND FLOOR; step down to the beach to enjoy shell collecting, snorkeling, swimming, or JUST RELAX!

Sugar Beach is only minutes from duty-free shopping in Christiansted. The newly built Divi Casino, International restaurants and nightclubs, renowned diving and snorkeling excursions, horseback-riding, Deep-Sea-Fishing are just minutes away. Other Activities include historic forts, sugar plantations, rainforest hikes, and botanical gardens. An activity for everyone to enjoy while visiting St. Croix!

Admire the spectacular sunrise from your patio. Vacationers may golf or sail under the clear blue skies; play tennis on our two lit courts or just step down from your patio and relax on our 500 foot sugar white sand beach. The fresh-water pool is built around a 1700’s sugar mill. Or just relax in the hammock and read a book in your private gallery area! The trade winds generate a cool breeze and the ocean waves create a tranquil sleep. Most times causing no need for air-conditioning, although it is readily available!

The owner is in the transition phase from the 'Corporate World' to 'Island Life.'

A Saxophone Player for most of his life who changes from business suit to shorts and sandals. An experienced scuba diver who has dived all over the world and discovered St. Croix about seven years ago and has returned every year since!

Why Howard Jesko chose USVI/St. Croix

The Diving is awesome. Salt River is a great place and we just plain love St. Croix. Snorkelling from our beach is fantastic. Look for the beautiful spotted eagle ray! and Breezez has the greatest food and they are right nextdoor!

What makes this condo unique

Snorkelling and walking the beach ... right outside the patio. I love waking up in the morning and looking out at the ocean while eating breakfast! That's life! Then go scuba-diving, snorkelling, or just lay on our beach and read a book! OH or go to the pool and relax... or go horseback riding.. what more can you aak for.

Thanks for the note in the mail, we would definitely consider coming again and using your condo. We appreciated being able to communicate with you before we left, you were very helpful. One thing I forgot to compliment was the supply of beach toys. We used the snorkels and raft often. Don’t know if I mentioned it to you but I traveled to St. Croix often in the mid 80’s when I worked for the Navy. We had an underwater test range out by Ham’s Bluff and used those facilities out there that are now the property of the VI National Guard. Back when I was a younger man I scaled that hill out there up to the lighthouse. The view was fantastic. This trip was pretty nostalgic for me. Karin and kept talking about what we could do down there to make a little money and move. A pipe dream….

Great location and service

We loved our stay at this private condo within Sugar Beach Resort. The location was easy to get to - Google Maps on our iPhone was actually really helpful and usually correct for the majority of the island - and well-suited for taking day trips. We'd use the pool in the morning, enjoy a quite lunch in the condo (grocery stores are nearby), then take an afternoon adventure somewhere, then back for more swimming in the pool, or walking/snorkeling on the beach.

The owner's service and on-site service person were wonderful. They send many useful email with links to things to do and see on the island, including some with discounts just for referring the owner's name.

We were very happy with our time here. The two kids (6 and 9 yo) stayed in the guest bedroom. The two bathrooms were a luxury. Full kitchen fully stocked with what you might need for cooking or the morning cup of coffee.

We never used the AC - it was sunny and warm (83 high), but the unit never felt warm. The breeze runs right through the unit and we used the fans at night too.

The unit's washer/dryer was a gift!

The unit also has beach towels, beach/lawn chairs, snorkel gear, water shoes, etc. We left two kids' buckets and shovels for others to enjoy. Purchased on the island at the local KMart and didn't want to travel them back with us.

We hope to return. It was a lovely trip!

Great Location, Highly Recommend

Our stay consisted of 8 days of great weather and scenery. The Condo is right on the beach and we were able to enjoy the warm breezes night and day. We did not need the turn on the air conditioner at all due to the constant sea breezes. Everything you need is there and it is centrally located in the middle of the island so getting to anywhere on the island does not take long at all. The condo is very clean and well stocked for those who like to cook their own meals. The King size beds are very comfortable. There is a beautiful pool that is available for use as well as the beach that is within 50 yards of the back door!! A beautiful sunrise to watch each morning for those who enjoy that sort of thing!! If you are considering a relaxing Caribbean vacation without all the hustle of others then this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

Hornblower on the Beach -- A Sugar Beach Condo for Beach Lovers

We have been back three times to St. Croix. We stay at this condo each time and it's very nice. The beach is all ours and never has more than a few people at any one time. This condo steps right onto the sand and is right in front of the ocean. Not all condos have this access. The enclosed patio is secure and you will spend a lot of time here! The breeze off of the ocean is perfect and you can sleep with the doors open at night and hear the ocean. The King size beds are lovely with a very high quality mattress and the pillows are so nice! I want to buy some for my house! Staff is very nice and helpful and will check in with you to see what you may need when you arrive. The pool is so clean and beautiful. The condo association cleans the beach up daily. Snorkeling area is right there! With a reef just beyond for scuba diving. A nice grocery store, Food Town, is a very short distance to this condo, as well as some great restaurants on the North Shore. Downtown Christiansted is a short ride.

Best vacation!!

We stayed with another couple at this Sugar Beach condo for eight days. It was clean, very well stocked, and directly on the beach! The enclosed patio on the back (about 20 feet from the water) was used every morning for breakfast and every night for drinks and games. Pool was awesome and very clean. The location of the condo is very close to Christiansted where all the restaurants and shops are, and we went there often. St. Croix is a perfect island to relax and this rental was perfect for our stay! Thank you Howard!!

Fabulous!

First Thank you Howard for a wonderful condo!! Steps to the beach OR steps to the pool - you decide! The condo had everything we needed and more! Relaxation is the key here! Short drive - 5 minutes - to Christiansted! Frederiksted is only 25 minutes! Drive on LEFT!!! The 4 of us loved every minute of our trip! The condo had plenty of room for the 4 adults in our party! Morning coffee on the patio or sitting in a beach chair is a daily routine! The only complaint is that we had to come back to Ohio!! The condo became our home in paradise! We would highly recommend this condo and the location! We will for sure be back and will stay here again!!

Had a great time. The condo just right. The beach was cleaned daily by workers, water was very clear and except for one really rainy day we had sunshine and 80 degree weather. Shopping is expensive; but we located Pueblo Market which was reasonable considering how the merchandise is shipped in. Good restaurants and bad roads made for a great adventure. The scenery from the mountains and Point Udall was amazing. The Island history was sad; but impressive with all of the "ancient" sugar mills, fort, and other buildings hundreds of years old still in good shape.
