 LOCATION: we are 50 meters from the sea with access to the cliff with adjoining solarium, ideally located for walking through the alleys of the historic center of Ortigia, visit the main sites of historical / cultural interest, the traditional market of typical Sicilian products, restaurants , trattorias and shops.
All services (restaurants, pharmacy, bank, shops, bars, etc.) are just a few minutes walk away.
Bus stop is behind the apartment. Train station 2 km.

What a charming place

I loved my stay here. The apartment was small but oh so charming. I loved the balcony. I sat out there every night with a glass of wine and my book. The hostess was great to work with. She allowed early check-in when I arrived early and let me store my luggage when I had to check out but, my train out of Syracusa wasn't for a few hours. I would definitely stay here again if I were in that area.

Très belle parenthèse à Syracuse

Bel appartement, et magnifique terrasse où nous avons pu prendre le petit-déjeuner en février ! Tout ce qu’il faut est là, nous avons pu profiter également des vélos, un peu vintage donc rigolos. Le seul point négatif est l’isolation entre les appartements. Nous avons séjourné avec une famille avec de très jeunes enfants qui nous ont réveillé tôt le matin.

Ein kleines aber feines Appartment mitten im Zentrum der wunderschönen Altstadt von Siracusa. Roberta ist wirklich eine Top Vermieterin, bei fragen oder hilfe steht Sie stehts zur Verfügung. Der Check - in war super einfach und ging schnell. die Wohnung war einfach zu finden und in der Umgebung befinden sich diverse Restaurants und Bars alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Appartment war auch sehr sauber. Die Parkplatzsituation gestaltet sich leider ein wenig schwierig da sich die Wohnung direkt in der Altstadt befindet und die umliegenden Parkplätze nur für Anwohner sind. Man erreicht aber einen großen Parkplatz 10 minuten zu Fuß von der Wohnung (gebührenpflichtig). Roberta kann aber auch ein Privatparkplatz zur verfügung stellen auch gebührenpflichtig.

Roberta and her assistant Guilia were very helpful and I felt that they were at our disposal. The location was great but parking was quite far away but doable. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. I only gave it 4 stars because it was so small but the size was as advertised. It was a good value.

Little paradise

Very nice flat in the historic center of Siracusa (Ortigia). The communication with the owner was perfect before and during our stay. Roberta met us in order to take us to the flat, as we lost our way through the maze of tiny streets... She was very kind and told us a little bit about the connections to the bus station and to the main sightseeing highlights. The flat is as described and shown in the photos: the kitchen is fully equipped, the bed is very comfortable and the terrace with sea view is a little paradise! On the ground floor you have a washing machine and there are 2 bikes you can use (thanks!).Close to the flat you have the access to a wood platform to sunbathe and bathe and 10 minutes away a small beach The flat is also very quiet and safe.There is a bus stop (electric navette) very close to the place, so it is a good option when coming to the flat form the bus or train stations, although its timetable is a somewhat unreliable... There are several places to buy food as well: a supermarket gusto and several bakeries with fresh bread and arancini. The Piazza del Duomo is like 7 mins walk, which means you can really walk to all the main sightseeings within Ortigia. In a nutshell, a very nice place! Highly recommended.

Charmantes,kleines Appartement Im Herzen von Ortigia

Das ansprechende, etwas kleine Appartement befindet sich in einem geschmackvoll renovierten historischen Stadthaus. Die kleine Dach-Terrasse mit Sonnenschirm bietet Meerblick und die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr gepflegt und sauber. Alles sehr geschmackvoll.Trotz der perfekten Lage im Herzen von Ortigia war es ruhig und gemütlich für uns. Küche / Essbereich sind etwas klein, aber für 2 Personen ausreichend. Es waren ausreichend Küchenutensilien vorhanden, evtl fehlten uns kleine Teller und Kaffeelöffel. In den bequemen Betten mit wirklich guten Matratzen haben wir herrlich geschlafen.Besonders hervor heben möchten wir die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft von Roberta, der Vermieterin, die uns per Whatup mit Rat und Tat geholfen hat. Herzlichen Dank nochmal dafür Roberta!! Wir haben die Zeit im La Gorgone sehr genossen und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Fantastic apartment and perfect location

We stayed in Ortigia for 1 week and had a wonderful time. Roberta and her family were very kind and always ready to offer any help or advice during our time in her lovely apartment. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of historic Ortigia and surrounded by many small, beautiful streets perfect for exploring. The market was a real highlight and we ate in most of the time cooking the amazing ingredients we had bought that day. Very nice terrace to sit out on during the evening. Perfect holiday.

Great apartment, perfect location

Our apartment was as lovely as we expected, very comfortable and in a perfect location surrounded by beautiful little streets which we explored in the evenings. We had a nice terrace which was just right for enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun go down and we even had access to 2 bikes as part of our rental. Roberta and her family were very kind and helpful and were always ready to offer advice and make our stay an even better one. Très bel petit appartement au calme et d’un charme absolu. Literie excellente et la vue sur la mer de la terrasse de l’appartement Medusa est extraordinaire. Accueil des propriétaires exemplaire. Propreté irréprochable. La cuisine est un peu petite pour préparer de vrais repas mais il est tellement agréable de déjeuner ou dîner dans les Nombreux endroits de ortigia. Nous avons été très bien accueillis.Logement conforme à la description de l'annonce et très propre.La terrasse avec vue sur la mer très agréable. L'appartement est idéalement situé pour profiter de la mer si vous allez en été;La cuisine est petite mais fonctionnelle.Il y avait tellement de bons restaurants et trattoria dans les environs que finalement nous avons rarement utilisé la cuisine,nous avons bien apprécié les deux vélo à disposition pour se balader le long de la mer;la propriétaire est très disponible pour répondre à tout problèmeOrtigia est superbe!!!! à recommander sans hésiter!

Fantastic experience! Definitely recommend

The location of the property is excellent. It's located in the heart of Ortigia, which makes it very convenient. The rooms are spacious and in great condition, making the stay very pleasant. The A/C works really well, which is definitely a plus given how warm Sicily gets in the summer months. My favorite part of the stay was the stuff. Roberta, the hotel manager, is a wonderful person. She is great at her job and also incredibly nice. The whole time I was there, she showed great commitment to making the guests' stay as pleasant as possible and she was also pleasant to talk to. I made feel like at home! I most definitely recommend La Gorgone to anyone traveling to Siracusa.

Lovely, cosy apartment in the heart of Ortigia but, at the same time, very close to the sea. It is perfect for a holiday with your other half, as I did. Nice terrace,we appreciated having our breakfast with the wonderful sea view. Roberta is a fantastic host, going to extra mile to help with any questions you may have. Kleines Apartment in wunderschöner Altstadt

Ortigia ist eine wunderbare alte Stadt, alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Wir haben Ausflüge mit dem Auto nach Noto und Ragusa gemacht, auch ins Naturschutzgebiet Vendicara, alles gut zu erreichen und wunderschön. Zum Meer sind es nur ein paar Schritte und es gibt unzählige - sehr gute - Restaurants in Ortigia. Das Apartment ist klein, aber gut ausgestattet; die Vermieterin war ausgesprochen hilfsbereit und hat auch im Vorfeld alle Fragen beantwortet. Einziger Minuspunkt: die Aussicht von der kleinen Terrasse ist nicht so idyllisch wie auf den Fotos - man blickt auf eine Brandruine, ehe man das Meer sieht. Ansonsten war alles ansprechend.

Beautiful island idyll. Great shopping, restaurants and swimming from rocks.

The apartment is fantastically situated only minutes away from the sea where we swam from the rocks every day. It is very comfortable with everything you could need. The little patio for drying clothes was very convenient. Fabio (Roberta's brother) met us and very kindly sorted out the complicated parking for us. The island itself is very picturesque with lots of lovely shops, bars and restaurants. The market is good for food and we had the best sandwiches in the world at the famous sandwich man's stall - although be prepared to queue (the time goes quickly as it's like performance art!). We went during the Ortigia Film Festival which was an added bonus. Open air free films, several in English or with sub- titles. The archeology museum in Syracuse is also well worth a visit - there's tons to see. Also the Greek theatre etc. We took a day trip to Noto, which is quite small but did have the best ice cream in the world. And swam at one of the many beautiful golden beaches on the way home. We also had an excellent, reasonably priced boat trip to see the caves and swim from a the boat. All all I can thoroughly recommend Ortigia as a base and Roberta's lovely flat. We wouldn't have bothered with a car though as parking is difficult and we just walked everywhere anyway. We would definitely go back - already missing the sunbathing on the 'solarium'.

Ein Stadt,Kultur und Strandurlaub für die Familie

Die Unterkunft war gut für 2 Personen.Bei der Ankunft ist man die engen Gassen nicht gewöhnt.Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit dem Blick aufs Meer ist schon toll. Unsere Vermieterin hat sich um alles gekümmert und war bemüht uns den Aufenthalt so gut es geht angenehm zu gestalten,trotz der Sprachprobleme.

Spent a fantastic week at Roberta's place. She met us even though late at night and gave us loads of great tips about how to spend our time - even explaining the unfathomable parking regulations of Ortigia. The apartment was excellent - very clean and great location with a beautiful roof terrace. Roberta - and her delightful mum - were perfect hosts and I will be recommending La Gorgone to my friends for sure.

Kleine Terrasse mit einer fantastischen Aussicht

Das Apartment liegt sehr zentral im Herzen von Ortigia und ist optimal um die Insel zu erkunden. Roberta hat uns persönlich empfangen und uns gleich ein paar gute Tipps für den Aufenthalt gegeben. Das kleine aber sehr feine Apartment hat eine kleine Terrasse mit einer fantastischen Aussicht aufs Meer. Beim Frühstück hört man die Wellen gegen die Mauern Ortigias schlagen. Im Apartment finden sich auch jede Menge Tipps über Ausflüge in die Gegend. Wir freuen uns schon drauf, wieder nach Ortigia zurückzukommen und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen!

Pretty location full of character

I loved staying at this apartment. It's so pretty (I felt like we were staying in a castle with the lovely arches and exposed stone) and has everything we needed. We were welcomed by Roberta's mum who was very friendly and told us everything we needed to know. We also loved the location... It's close to a solarium, electric bus stop, has a little supermarket and bakery just around the corner, a lovely bar nearby. It's easy walking distance to all the main sights (or electric bus). I loved my time in Ortigia and wish I was staying longer.

Complimenti a Roberta e alla mamma. Struttura assolutamente coerente al prezzo richiesto. Pulizia, organizzazione e posizione rendono questi appartamenti assolutamente piacevoli. Necessario un mezzo proprio per vivere la zona esterna ad Ortigia (mare, musei escursioni). Consiglio un garage pubblico (Ztl multe risolto e posto assicurato) suggerito dalla proprietaria.

Great holiday. Very good exchange with the owner and good information. Spacious house and good volumes, beds very comfortable and well located. Small courtyard pleasant for the dinner.We just miss a microwave. We were very pleased!!!
