"Cal Gruixut" (@calgruixut) is an 18th-century farmhouse, recently renovated with all modern comforts, located in a prime spot between Palamós and Palafrugell, in the heart of the Costa Brava. You can enjoy maximum tranquility while having all the amenities at your disposal.

"Cal Gruixut" was awarded second place in the category of "Best Tourist Accommodation for Rustic Architecture and Design" in Girona province (2023), as part of the 5th Girona Awards for Holiday Apartments and Villas.

The property covers more than 1 hectare of land, with a well-maintained garden, swimming pool, barbecue area, and vegetable garden.

The house offers 3 bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, and an independent studio with its own bathroom. The entire house is equipped with heating, a fireplace with firewood available, ceiling fans in all rooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher.

Perfect for both summer vacations and cozying up by the fireplace in winter!

We had a wonderful week at Cal Gruixat. It’s a beautiful property very tastefully renovated from a classic Catalan farmhouse, with plenty of space inside and out for our family group of seven. The garden is lovely and has many places to hang out: we ate dinner and lunch in four different spots. Clara was extremely helpful and we took advantage of several of her recommendations on beaches, restaurants and places of interest. The property is well located to give access to the rest of the Costa Brava but feels like an escape every time you return home.

A fantastic holiday home near the beach. The location is great - just a 5-minute drive to the beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The house itself was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. One of the absolute highlights was the beautiful, spacious garden. And of course the private swimming pool. The host (Clara) was incredibly friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a place we would highly recommend and definitely consider coming back to.

Brilliant vacation

We had the most amazing stay. The house was perfect, garden and pool amazing. Clara and Jordi were fantastic hosts helping us with many amazing recommendations and doing everything to make our stay perfect - many thanks. The house is very well equiped, even better than the already lovely photos and in a perfect location close to all beaches and restaurants. We will would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Fuimos para un fin de semana de despedida de soltera y la casa no pudo ser mejor. Todas las habitaciones cuentan con su propio baño completo, habitaciones amplias, cocina completa, y el exterior… increíble. La piscina, dos mesas amplias en el exterior, un jardín enorme… el trato y limpieza genial. Para repetir!!! (Cerca de farmacia, hospital, discoteca, playa…)

Desde la comodidad de sus estancias, la limpieza, el amplio jardin lleno de flores, árboles y plantas, los distintos espacios en el jardin para poder descansar, leer, desayunar.... Muy cerca de las playas, de la costa... muy bien comunicada. Y muy tranquila... sientes que estás en el campo, disfrutando del silencio, pero al lado de todos los servicios, pueblos mas importantes de la costa brava.

Excelente estancia en Masía espectacular

La masía de Clara es espectacular. Todo muy cuidado y reformado. Muy bien equipada para que los huéspedes estén cómodos. El jardín y la piscina son preciosos. La cocina está equipada con todo lo necesario e incluso más que en otras casas de alquiler. Se nota que lo han pensado todo para que el huésped no eche en falta nada. Clara además fue una anfitriona que en todo momento respeto nuestra intimidad y muy flexible con el grupo. La masía está restaurada con mucho gusto y es muy cómoda. Felicidades Clara. Volveremos seguro.

A jewel of architecture and nature.

Clara ´s place is a rare and beautiful place. The architecture is gorgeous and the garden is simply spectacular, it is a work of art. Clara renovated her grandmother’s house with all the comfort and more and with an amazing taste in a « rural contemporary « style, luxious and low key at the same time. The lovely swimming pool was a blessing for the hottest days. The house is also perfectly located : 5 mn from the most beautiful beaches like Castell and bigger cities like Palamos. Even though the place is slightly isolated - and therefore very quiet- you can reach the village within a 10mn walk to buy some bread or have dinner in the delicious local restaurant. Clara welcomed us warmly and was there all along to help us in our wanderings. She recommended us the best restaurants, the places to visit… and took the time to help us everytime we needed her. The place was perfect for our 2 families with kids. Our stay was a dream!
