Les Sablons is a charming ‘colombage’ cottage, surrounded by rolling green fields of the Normandy countryside. Les Sablons is a house where you come to fully switch off - there is nobody around and we often joke that rush hour consists of three tractors! It's perfect for a romantic getaway, family fun with children, or lovers of cheese (the house is 4km away from Camembert), or WW2 history.
The house is small, but well fitted out and well thought out for you to have a relaxing stay. There's a large log burner, washing machine, dishwasher, numerous books and games, outdoor furniture and a BBQ. The house sleeps 4 comfortably and there is one bathroom. There is parking for one car, two at a squeeze. We allow pets in the house, but please check with us in advance! At the moment there is no Wi-Fi - for us, this helps us to unwind and switch off, promoting a digital detox.
Les Sablons is situated in lower Normandy around an hour and a quarter drive from the ferry port at Ouistreham, Caen. Although the cottage is in the middle of lush green fields and valleys, the coast is easily accessible. You can visit the sophisticated towns of Deauville, Trouville and Honfleur, the latter being worth a day’s visit by itself. Further west along the coast you can explore the D-Day beaches, visit Bayeux and Mont St Michel. Houlgate and Cabourg are lovely seaside towns with endless sandy beaches.

A lovely situated house in a beautiful part of Normandy. We really enjoyed staying here and thanks to the host for offering the hospitality of their Normandy home.
We had a lovely stay at this typical Normandy cottage. It was well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed spending time in the garden and even had a couple of BBQs. Plenty of history nearby and we often went out exploring. Good selection of WWII books too!
We stayed 3 weeks in this fantastic house in the french countryside!
The house and the location are perfect for a relax stay and has everything you need.
There is so much to do and see, and lots to explore.
We had such a great and relaxing time and love to come back some day !
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your characteristic cottage, satisfying our walking desires from the maps and routes with ease, happy relaxing to birdsong reading in the garden and great CD's perfect inside with our jigsaw. All comfortably equipped and working fine, it's such a beautiful location, the valley loop is perfect for early morning/evening runs!
We had a wonderful holiday at Les Sablons. The property has everything you need and the location is so peaceful. Our daughter loved the outdoor games and board games. Lots of great places to visit and easy access to Vimoutiers for shopping and the essential trips to the boulangerie. We can't wait to stay again.
Perfect quiet location for a busy property viewing trip.Absolutely everything we needed, plus a few we didn't know we needed. We Saw Deer, A boar and fox and hare, whilst sitting in the lovely garden. We also saw over 42 different bird species including a golden Oriel (recommend looking out of the front windows before around 9am)What a truly wonderful stay we had
The kind of place you almost want to keep secret ;-)
We had an unforgettable stay at this charming gîte in Champosoult, Normandy. The location is incredibly peaceful with stunning views, making it a perfect retreat. We were fortunate to visit during the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy, which added a special historical significance to our trip. The area is fantastic for walks, and we enjoyed the local food and exploring the rich history of the region. The gîte itself is well-equipped, cozy, and truly feels like a home away from home. The fireplace added to the cozy ambiance, and the host was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!
we had a wonderful stay at Les Sablons. a quiet area and a beautiful view. the house was fully equipped and even more than expected. communication was good and very pleasant. we definitely recommend this stay.

We have owned the property since the early naughties and spent all of our childhood holidays here. As we can now visit the house less, we are delighted that we are able to open it up for others to book.
