Wandering in the Alfalma District

The apartment was perfect for wandering around the Alfalma District. The narrow cobble-stone roads enrich the entire experience. Each night the apartment was a perfect respite for tired legs walking up and down the hills of Lisbon. Great experience.

Ottima posizione, alcune cose da rivedere

L’appartamento è come descritto nell’annuncio e nelle foto. Il terrazzo deve essere sistemato dato che ha sedie rotte ed una pianta che cresce liberamente senza controllo. La procedura di check in dove le chiavi devono essere recuperate in un’altra sede rispetto all’apparato non è’ chiaramente descritto nell’annuncio. La scala di accesso è stretta e ripida. L’appartamento è carino e la posizione è ottima.

Big issue with retreiving keys

The main concern about this property is getting the keys. It is not specified clearly in the ad that the keys for this appartement are about 25 minutes walk (without suitcases....) to get them. We learned upon arriving at the door in our taxi that we had to get the keys quite far from where we were. Obviously with suitcases, there was no way I could walk in Lisbon more than an hour back and forth. After much debating with the management, they ended up sending the keys with a scooter which took about an hour to receive them... Another issue with this place are the windows. There is basically 2 windows, one in the front and one in the bedroom which is actually a door to access the terrace. We like to open the windows during night for fresh air and we couldn't do that at this place, i.e. the only window in the room is a door and it didn't feel right to keep the door open for the night. And the other windows is pretty far from the room and the only thing that gets to this window is noise... The rest of the appartment was ok, just difficult to get inside with the super tight and steep stairs and doors...

Fantastic apartment. Terrace not so great!

Loved the apartment- just off the main road but still quiet for sleeping. Very well equipped and comfortable. Shame the terrace did not live up to the pictures or expectations- very tatty, broken chairs, dead plants and looked very unloved. Not a place you’d want to sit out in really, which was a shame. The door and stairs up were a bit unexpectedly tiny but got used to it fine. The managers communication and transfers were excellent.

Perfect for a couple in Alfama

Fell in love with this apartment the moment I saw the pictures. Just as cute in real life. Living room with doors opening to street, dining/kitchen, bedroom with private terrace. Amazing rain shower and separate toilet. Including all the amenities, Wi-Fi W/D, dishwasher, stove, coffee pot- though did not use any. Adequate consumables. Very narrow sidewalks on street, tiny stairwell- but only one flight up *phew* 15min walk uphill or tram from where you get the key. Not for visitors that are out of shape or with more than carry on luggage Amazing location. Great restaurant next store, central to tram stop, close to several lovely miradaros and many other shops and restaurants. Would absolutely have this be my place of choice the next time back in Lisbon

First visit to Lisbon

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was easy to find, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Everything we did we were able to walk to. The neighborhood was filled with small restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. The street are narrow and winding but with Google maps we had no difficulty finding our way around. All in all we are very happy with this rental and would stay here again.

perfect location to be apart of the Alfama

This gave us the Lisbon experience we were looking for. Great proximity to sights and restaurants. Loved the narrow cobblestone streets. The narrow, steep stairs up to our apartment was unexpected. Other than that, the apartment was exactly what we were looking for, and the right price.

The flat is wonderful and in a great location. The entry hallway is very difficult to navigate if you are older or lack strength to lift heavy luggage.

Enjoyed loc and view out of front. Terrace unusable because chairs broken. Everything else ok.

Overall, good location, but furniture on terrace should be repaired. Rest of apt. fine.

Excellent Choice

I have been in the hotel business for (50) years and have travelled extensively and this apartment exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a listing in Alfama. Don’t let the building front door and interior staircase spook you…once walking into apartment you may want to spend more time here after exploring Lisbon. This place is newly renovated, well appointed, spotless and in a safe area. My only criticism would be the check-in. I checked in at the hotel down the hill and the receptionist was rude and not helpful at all. She told me apartment was right around the corner. I dragged my luggage uphill for (15-20) minutes before reaching apt. Not a great first impression but all in all well worth it.

Perfect Spot

Really enjoyed staying at this property, beautifully clean, well equipped and in a fantastic location with one of the best breakfast places in Lisbon within 20 steps of the doorstep (Augusto Lisboa). Stops for Tram 12 & 28E and bus 737 within easy walking distance and can get you everywhere if you dont fancy walking the up and down hills. Highly recommended.
