You really feel you are in Friesland in this lodge, not just outside on the terrace, but also inside. That’s because of all the windows, the great views and because it’s right on the water’s edge. It’s fully equipped so as to make your stay as pleasant as possible, and on chilly evenings, you can snuggle up around the wood burner. Water lodge Reidhintsje is the perfect holiday home for families of up to 6 or for two couples. There are three bedrooms: 1 double room, 1 with two singles and 1 with a bunk bed.
Characteristics
The open kitchen is fully fitted and the layout means that the one who is cooking isn’t separated from the others. The living area has a spacious settee and two wonderful armchairs, so there’s always a comfortable place to sit. The dining table seats 6 and is placed in the centre of the room. The wood burner keeps you warm on late evenings and in the winter. Naturally, the lodge is well insulated and there is additional heating for on cold days.

Where is it located?
The Reidhintsje is on the west side of Pean-buiten. It’s highlighted on the map in the slideshow above. The Reidhintsje has two terraces so there is always a place in the sun or in the shade. The water lodge has its own landing stage where you can throw out your fishing line or cast off in a boat.
You won’t notice the guests in the other houses at Pean-buiten very much when you’re in the Reidhintsje. At most, you might see your neighbours on the water, as just some of the many water sport enthusiasts that sail past. And in the summer months you’ll definitely see the boats from the sailing school pass by.
What does it look like inside?
There are 3 bedrooms on the cool side of the house. The largest bedroom has a double bed, while the other two rooms have single beds. In one of the bedrooms, the single can be pushed together to create a double bed; the third bedroom has a bunkbed. The single beds are Swiss Sense leather-look box springs (2.10 long and 0.90 wide). All beds are fitted with single duvets, pillows with protective covers and flannel bed sheet. Bed linen is available for rent from Pean-buiten, but you can also bring your own.
The bathroom has a shower, double sink unit and a toilet. There is a second toilet in the hallway – particularly nice when there are more than two of you in the lodge.
What does it look like on the outside?
There’s an outdoor lounge seat and a table for 6 on the terrace so you have a choice of seating. Outside lighting makes it cosy on the terrace well into the evening.
