- Bude, 4 miles, has golf links, sea and coarse fishing, swimming in the sea pool and a surf school.
- Possible to walk or cycle to Bude along the old canal towpath passing through farmland
- Bike hire is available locally at Whalesborough and Segway Bude
- Four stunning beaches all within a five mile drive
- Country inn at both Marhamchurch and Bridgerule just over a mile away
- Lakeside bistro with wildlife centre is approximately 2 miles
- Marhamchurch also has a community shop stocking local produce.
- Boscastle, Tintagel and Clovelly are all within half an hour's drive
