Lovely stay at Compton house snug

We really enjoyed our stay at Compton house snug, it is in a very peaceful location but not very far from local shops and bars.The house was very clean and comfortable there is also a lovely courtyard to relax in .

We loved the wedding we attended and Newark is worthy of a better look around than we had chance to give it.

5 out of the last 6 guests have given Compton Ho perfect marks for cleanliness & no other guest has queried the description in the last 3 years. Furthermore, the latest guest who checked out today left a lovely note saying "thank you for another wonderful stay at Compton Ho Snug, we'll be back"

Good value for money. meeting of our needs in a short stay.

The word Snug sums it up. Clean throughout. Cosy lounge. Comfortable beds. Bathroom met our needs. Kitchen well equipped but you need to be au fait with air fryers. We stuck with the microwave. Ideal for a short stay.. And all this in a very quiet setting. You ask would we recommend the Snug but we are conscious of the sale of the house so not sure of its availability. As for staff we met none but I had cause to ring the agents and was happy with their response.

Needs attention

We booked this place to attend a family wedding Norwood Hall and Newark is a great place to look round . However, we felt the property was misrepresented, it says it is all on the ground floor but the kitchen and bathroom are actually up 4 steps.Whilst pleasant there are no windows with an outlook and only a roof light in kitchen and bathroom. The gate to the parking area is incredibly heavy and difficult to open.It needs a deep clean as the mouldy windows and bathroom are unpleasant to say the least. The toilet seat is unsafe. The mirrored wardrobe doors had nasty looking marks on them and a false eyelash in the bed. I have photographs of all these but there seems to be a problem with the upload process. I can provide these by email.

Family Visit

We live in Cornwall and needed a base so we could visit family. This was perfect for us. Like a mini home from home. We will definitely be using this accommodation again for future visits to Notts.
