HURRICANE IRMA UPDATE:
The community of Venture Out experienced severe damage due to Hurricane Irma.
Update: April, 2018
Venture Out Unit #386, our Dolphin House, did experience some damage due to Hurricane Irma. We had no interior damage, and we have just finished up the exterior repairs necessary to bring Dolphin House back online.
We needed to replace the siding (the house is now pale YELLOW in color!), the crawlspace and foundation, as well as the Air Conditioning system. The home now is equipped with a system of three Mitsubishi mini-splits and heat pump. Updated photos are being posted with our listing.
In addition to constant use of the amazing swimming pool we have at Venture Out, we swim daily off our dock and ladder in the canal in front of our home, as well as in the Lagoon near the swimming pool and launch area (yes, we're serious swimmers!)
The tennis, (new) pickleball, basketball and bocce courts are back! The Store and Fuel pumps are open 7:00 – 5:00 daily. In addition, there are still ongoing repairs to the store building itself– the steps, elevator and second floor.
The fuel dispenser for the Marina Gas Tanks is in full operation!
Our Maintenance crew have been working on the kitchen in the Pavilion.
It is definitely going to take time to get things back to pre-IRMA condition but we are making progress and truly appreciate all the help we are getting from the Venture Out community.

This compact and comfortable waterfront dwelling is just off the open water, offering you and your boat slight protection from winds and chop. We have just installed brand new dock posts and fenders, plus a permanent fish cleaning table. We have a convenient little outdoor shower for when you come out of the canal or off your boat after a day of fun on or in the water.
Even though there are only a bit over 800 sq. ft. under air, there is a deck that's over 200 sq. ft. and a cement dock of 350 sq. ft. providing great entertainment space and an a large area where you can dine, enjoy the sun or the evening breezes or just sit and gaze at the water..
Water lovers can swim right off your 35ft of dock and seawall, in the beautiful protected deep lagoon or in the huge heated pool. Bring your power or fishing boat, your sailboat, kayaks and paddleboards and you're literally seconds from the open water. We provide you with a single person kayak and a stand-up paddleboard. Superb views.
The open floor plan gives you a large modern, well-equipped kitchen for easy prep and presentation of your vacation meals. There's a collection of classic and quirky cookbooks likely to please any chef, either accomplished or newbie. Dishwasher and washer/dryer add to the amenities for a relaxed lifestyle. Ceramic tile throughout the cottage! Both queen bedrooms have plenty of closet and storage space.
Other important vacation features include central air-conditioning and a large deck for outdoor dining or just a relaxed evening reading your favorite author.
There are two comfortable bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths and high speed internet. It's a small house and our home. Guests who are a party of two couples sometimes tell us that there isn't enough soundproofing between the bedrooms. It's a manufactured home, however, so it is what it is and we love it, mismatched towels and all.
Wrapping up, the Venture Out Resort gated community features marina, marine fueling station, boat launch ramps, store, community center, library, and 24-security. Sports enthusiasts will love the large, year round heated swimming pool, adults only hot tub, tennis courts, basketball, pickle ball and bocci ball.
Venture Out is THE place to stay in the Lower Keys, located at Mile 23.
