A Relaxing Weekend

This was a beautiful spotless property. I especially enjoyed the massive kitchen and the outdoor deck overlooking the lake. It is rare to get a weekend away with my adult children so it was a special time for all. This property was close enough to the city to enjoy shopping/dining and far enough away to provide serenity. I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it to others.

Christmas Vacay

Came to Louisiana and stayed at this home with my husband and our other two boys to spend Christmas with my oldest son who is based at Barksdale Air Force Base. This home is spacious, clean and has a warm welcoming feeling. The lake view was breath taking every day. Even though there wasn’t much to do nearby, we enjoyed the indoors. It’s priceless spending quality family time and making memories with my family.

Golfing/Fishing outing

This property was absolutely wonderful. The communication prior to check in answered all our questions before arrival. The lake view is gorgeous. The house was very clean upon arrival. Very close to grocery stores and a small drive to casinos/restaurants. Will definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

Beautiful home with great location

We were traveling for work and our president loves to cook for the team, the kitchen in this home is amazing. The gathering areas were perfect for work discussions that you cannot have in hotels. We will stay here again next year if the home is available.

Amazing, beautiful & so comfortable

4 business colleagues shared this property. We each had a private en-suite. Huge kitchen with breathtaking views of the lake. A great space to work, relax & entertain.

WONDERFUL LAKE HOUSE

If we could rate this house 10 stars we would. It is beaufiful, clean, LOVED the sonic ice machine, beds and pillows were comfortable and we enjoyed the large sofa and dining table. We were 3 families and had so much space. We made great memories at the lake house.

Still Excellent!

This is my family's second stay at this wonderful lakefront retreat. It's beautiful, very spacious, well-appointed, and easy to find (which is important when booking Uber or having groceries delivered as we did). The only issue we had was that on this trip the TV's were not working. This wasn't an issue for us as we weren't there most of the time, and in fact, didn't notice it until we tried them for the first time 3 days into our stay! But having dealt with the wonderful owners in the past I am 100% certain they would have fixed them same day had I called to report it. Instead, when my young grandson came by for a short visit, I had a better idea: I will forever remember this stay as the place I taught him how to fish. Not only did he catch a small bass off the dock, but I landed a 3-pounder using a silver spoon lure! Thanks, owners, for helping me make that special memory! Will definitely stay here every time I'm in Shreveport!

The pictures do not accurately reflect how amazing the home really is.

Absolutely enjoyed our visit. The pictures provided do not accurately show just how amazing the home really is. Owners were very kind and communicate very well. Anything we felt we needed that was not present they tried to provide. I enjoyed the "instruction manual" to their home. That was a wonderful touch and very thoughtful. Our children enjoyed the leggos provided. Only issue we had was with no garage remote we ended up letting a ton of bugs in often. Had to enter the front door to manually open the garage with wall switch which let more and more bugs in. An attempt WAS made by the owners to provide and replace a remote that went missing from previous renters. Would definitely book again and recommend to friends, family, and colleagues.

Wonderful Place, Fabulous View!

Everything was as shown in the listing or better, with no bad surprises. Our host, Joey (perfect host!) was in contact before our arrival and texted to check on us during the stay, asking if there was anything we needed. View is fabulous, and the accommodations were as shown. All appliances worked, the house was very clean. Excellent location, address is easy to see/find, which was important b/c I ordered groceries and other items to be delivered and they arrived with no problems whatsoever. An excellent place and wonderful experience. I have already booked a return to this house in October.

Most attractive space in Shreveport. Loved what you did with the property and renovations. Would love to stay again. Great stay at the lake house.

The six of us loved our extended weekend at this house. It was comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The view of the lake was amazing. The house was clean and the neighborhood was was safe and beautiful. The only complaint that I heard from our group was that the Wi-Fi was a little weak. We would definitely stay again.

You NEED to stay at this Lakeside house!!!!

This home is absolutely beautiful! The high end appliances and cultural rich decorations were first to catch our eye when we walked in, and the bountiful fishing off of the dock really took everything over the edge. Joey was an amazing host and he went above and beyond anything I ever expected of him. The day we arrived I bet I texted him about 5-10 messages and he quickly responded every time and helped us get settled. We had two families with kids ranging from 7-13. We all comfortably fit in the home, including a cozy movie night on the large sectional. I would suggest discussing room arrangements ahead of arrival if two couples will be staying here. All though the entire house is absolutely beautiful, the master suite is massive and full of luxury amenities that won’t compare to the other rooms by far. Mom tip: If you have never been to Shreveport, there are not a ton of “kid activities.” Before arrival, set the tone with the little ones as far as what your plans are. Going in all of our kids knew this was a fishing/relaxing/board games and family time. They all had a great time and not one kid mentioned they missed their Xbox. We had to practically make them come inside to even eat. You will be so happy if you get the chance to experience this house.

Wonderful for extended family gathering

Large and spacious lakefront home. Plenty of room to spread out. All 4 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms which came in handy as well all dressed for a family wedding. The master suite is huge and you feel like your over the water as you look out. We highly recommend this home and would stay there again without hesitation.

I am a retired chemical engineer from Tulane and my wife is a linguist and technical translator from Belarus. We don't spend much time in Shreveport anymore (we have another home in Beaumont), so we decided to offer up our Cross Lake home for others to enjoy. Try a piece of paradise!

I always wanted to live on the water. This house was a huge fixer-upper in a great spot on the lake, so I bought it and had it completely re-done in late 2014 with a clean, contemporary style. My designer and I worked hard to make it as beautiful, energy-efficient and maintenance-free as possible, and I think we nailed it! Book a stay and enjoy the first class amenities of the Cross Lake Contemporary!

If you like spending time on the water and enjoy viewing or photographing wildlife in a refuge-like setting, you'll enjoy this house. Bringing your boat or kayak? Take it for a short hop over to Buzzard Island or explore the shores of the 8,500+ acres of Cross Lake!

My daughter and I took all the wildlife photos in this listing from locations on the property with a modest zoom lens as noted on each picture. There is almost always some bird and turtle activity going on at the house. In addition to the wildlife captured in our photographs, we've also seen a bald eagle and several other species I've never seen before. I can sit on the upper deck for hours...

One of my favorite wildlife highlights is when the hundreds of white pelicans (and friends) herd the baitfish in toward shore to feed (seasonal - Dec/Jan usually). Families of mallard ducks often swim up and down the shoreline (seasonal). You never know what you're going to see here!

If fishing is your thing, the lake has bass (and tournaments) but probably has more catfish. So far, my father-in-law holds the record for most catfish caught in one day off our dock. They were very tasty!

We're just half a mile from a nice public (free) boat launch and the Shreveport Yacht Club, so bring your jet-skis, bass boat, or Hobie-cat and have some fun on the water! Be sure to register with the Cross Lake Patrol if you're bringing your own boat or jet skis.

And if a rendezvous with Lady Luck is your thing, we're less than 15 minutes from the Shreveport casinos! The Cross Lake Contemporary is a great place to come home to after cashing in your winnings!
