Lovely 2 storey family home built in 1811 is located in the quiet village of Evanton, 1/2 a mile off the A9. Plenty of space both inside and out for up 6 people. The property was updated in 2017 keeping its homely feel of warmth and relaxation for a perfect quiet stay.
Situated central to the village and on the NC500 route. Amenities within walking distance. Perfect location, 16 miles from the Highland Capital of Inverness. The village has the backdrop of the breathtaking heights of Ben Wyvis and is a perfect base for traveling further afield, returning to the warmth and comfort of this well-maintained home.

Lovely Stay in Evanton

Great spot that is in a quiet town but still close to Inverness, Loch Ness, Dornoch, etc. Donna is a great host and left plenty of info about local restaurants, etc.. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

Excellent place to stay!

The property was perfect for our stay. The kitchen was so well stocked.. everything you need for cooking is there. Milk and cookies were waiting for us and I would highly recommend booking! The bathrooms' towel warmers were a nice treat. The outdoor area was lovely.

Great, comfortable stay!

We stayed for 6 nights and were sad to leave! Excellent location, easy walk to the co-op. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen. Plenty of space for us to spread out a bit. We cannot say enough nice things about this stay!

Family trip

This was a lovely house in a picturesque area of the highlands. Perfect for our stay. It was 25 minutes from Inverness. We were able to see many of the beautiful sites in the highlands. Definitely worth the stay.

Very lovely cottage and very well furnished and decorated. Especially enjoyed the thoughtfulness of our hostess (Donna) in providing some supplies and treats for our arrival. Very nice backyard for relaxing. Would highly recommend this cottage to others!

Beautiful place, really comfortable, everything you could need, beds very comfy, kitchen had everything and we cooked a couple of nights. Coffee, tea , tin foil etc. The pub is staggering distance and supermarket 10 min drive, lovely walks around. Very quiet, great garden area. Would absolutely return.

We had a great experience at this home. Well appointed, spacious, super clean and host was super pleasant. Perfect place to stay. Cute Inn nearby with decent food and a co-op that has everything you need. Would stay here again as it is perfectly located to explore the area.

Awesome accommodation

The location and the house were outstanding. We are traveling to various locations in Scotland and this was our favorite due to the lovely and well equipped home and its location. It was an easy walk to get groceries and to access walks in the area.

We were sad to hear today (20/10/2025), that the house was not to the guests liking . We have been advised by previous guests that the property is as per photographs. The house was renovated back in 2016, to a high standard without compromising the cottage feel. We would hope that our guest have perused these when booking. We appreciate any feedback we get from our guest and feel that it would be beneficial if this was relayed back at the time of the stay to allow us to remedy any problem. The place was left tidy and house rules had been met.

Our family loved our stay on Balconie Street. The house was thoughtfully appointed and anticipated our every need. We loved the nearby restaurants and village shop. The walks through the forest were glorious, particularly the view of the gorge. We will certainly stay here again!

We had a great time here at this location. Only suggestion would be clearer directions on how to operate stove and provide some non-stick pans for quicker cooking & cleanup. Otherwise would recommend this place and stay here again! Thank you for a great stay in Scotland

The cottage was perfect , well equipped,very comfortable, we loved our pints and evening meals in the Novar Arms. The Coop down the road and a Chinese takeaway both within a short walk were very useful. Thoroughly recommend.

Couldn't have asked for more

We as family of 5 adults had a great holiday here. Never felt away from home and overall experience of staying was just too good. The walk in the woods, lovely community around, amenities at just 30 seconds walk,scenic view just outside the town and much more makes it an ideal place to stay. We loved the location and our host recommended a fun local pub and restaurant. And a beautiful walk. It was an easy commute to the sights around Inverness. We couldn't figure out the clothes washer and she popped right over to help us out. A+

Cute and quiet

This was our "home base" while exploring the highlands. It is about 20 minutes from Inverness. The place was so cute and clean and had everything we needed. The back garden area was a perfect place to enjoy a bit of peace after a full day of exploring. Highly recommended.

The Evanton rental was very clean, organized and comfortable. Lovely backyard and excellent parking. Two minutes to the supermarket by foot. All went well.
