Great spot & host

Marco's property has great location and is wonderful place to stay. Marco is also an A+ host, very communicative and easy to work with. We'd happily stay here again in the future

Not really worth the price we paid

For the price that we paid, equivalent to 3 nights at Palisades Tahoe Lodge, it is definitely not worth it. One good thing is that Marco is excellent in responding to my inquiries and messages. I really appreciate his timely response, although there was not much he could do about most of the issues we faced. First off, the pellet stove heater does not work. We had to rely on the baseboard heaters which is hard to control temperature. There was NO coffee or shampoo available. The shower head leaks and shoots water from the joint when in use. The tub drainage lever is half closed most of the time and needs toggling to ensure proper flow. The utensils and cookware in the drawers and cabinets are obviously dirty. My wife had to hand washed everything before use to ensure cleanliness. The bathroom door cannot be locked! The light fixtures in the bathroom and dining area have burnt out bulbs and living room does not have enough lighting. Check-out time of 10am is unreasonable with request that dishwasher run is complete before departing, due to need to shut off water valve. Parking is an issue especially when the parking lot is not entirely cleared of snow. All in all, building and unit is dated (tub has stains), but a lot of these could be fixed if upkeeping of unit is better. If I were paying half the price that I have paid, I would probably just overlook these. :) Nonetheless, Marco is a very responsive host and I do appreciate his effort in responding. Thank you for the effort!

Cozy condo

I was a little concerned when I read a previous review about the bed, but we were totally happy with the one in the bedroom. It felt like brand new. We had a wonderful stay, yet there were a few minor points where I feel Marco could make the condo even better. We ate in five of our six nights and found the tilt of the stove burners made cooking more difficult than it should have been. Another issue was the lamp on the side of the large couch was very dim for our older eyes and we needed to remove the shade in order to read there. We also would have liked to have had a lamp on the other side of the couch. However, none of this kept us from having a great time and would certainly return if we are lucky enough to get to Squaw in the future.

Squaw condo

It was fair. Outdated. Son said it took forever to get water to warm up for bath/shower. Bed and fold out couch need updated mattress. For the price/ please invest in more comfortable living. Thank you

Walking distance to lifts was perfect!

It didn’t help that there were six foot high snow banks everywhere. Finding the exact property and parking area was made easier with the detailed map provided. The walk to the lifts with ski gear was a nice little warm up (although I would recommend walking in regular shoes and renting a locker for $10). There is limited traffic in this area which is a bonus…especially when walking home from the village after a few drinks and dinner. Check in/out super easy too!

Great spot for a weekend of skiing

Practical lodge a half mile walk to ski slopes.

Marco was responsive to questions and helped our family settle in to his condo near Palisades. It was on the 2nd floor and we had to move our car around the parking lot to accommodate snow plows clearing it during the parade of storms around New Years 2023. We tried to leave the condo as we found it, but there were a lot of steps to follow. This is a great place for young adult skiers and snowboarders.

Convenient ski vacation rental

Very good location, close to the ski lifts and village restaurants. Good interior, slightly old. Lots of instructions to follow on hallway board, but everything worked well as instructed. We were comfortable through three snowy days.

Great Location, Very Functional Condo for Family of 4

Easy commute to Palisades Tahoe

This is a great location. The owner is easy to communicate with. There is nothing glamorous about the space but it is an easy home base to get to the slopes. We never turned on the pellet burning stove for heat but were more than warm and slept with windows open both nights as it was too hot in the unit. Kitchen is well equiped and dining space was a good set up. Thanks!

Nice but old school

The condo was in an amazing location (5 minute walk to the Palisades mountain) and was generally clean and nice. It was a little run down – the blankets for the sofa bed had holes, the shower doors didn't close all the way, etc. A good place to stay overall!

practical place

The property owner was very responsive to inquiries as VRBO emails with instructions of check in did not download properly. The property owner was open to texting to guide us through the check in process. Instructions pinned on the wall inside the unit was also very helpful. We left the place early (2 days out of the total 4) due to the Dixie Fire; Would have been appreciated if we got at least 25% credit back as we did not use the place for 50% of the time rented.

Great Place in Olympic Valley

My wife and I were in Olympic Valley for the weekend for a wedding. This condo was perfect, a short walk to everything the Squaw Valley resort had to offer! Marco has made the check-in process very easy and was able to accommodate our early arrival. Thank you Marco!

Marco loves to ski the slopes of Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley USA), together with his wife and kids too. When he is not skiing, Marco loves to sail his Nacra Inter 20 catamaran and also to scuba dive as well.

I have chosen to purchase my condo as a vacation home, since Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley USA) was the site of the Winter Olympic games in 1960, and ever since has improved the slopes and lifts to make it a world class ski resort. With terrain for all type of skiers, from beginners to experts, is one of the best resorts in the Tahoe region that caters to individuals and families as well, with a great ski school from toddlers to adults.

この宿泊施設の特徴

The condo is just a short walk to the village and the Cable Car. Even with ski boots on, it takes me only 5 minutes to get to the Gondola. That way I don't have to worry about finding parking, especially on a busy weekend, or being worried about being towed during the winter months. With the convenient ski locker on the ground floor, all the ski gear is stowed away securely. The condo itself is very cozy, but it feels just like home too. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal to cook a gourmet home meal, but there are plenty of great restaurants in the village, including Starbucks too, just 5 minutes walking. Free fast WiFi is now available inside the unit.
I love the pellet stove, that provides heat and the looks of a wood stove, without the bother of smoke and having to tend the fire, just set the thermostat to the desired temperature and enjoy, and occasionally add a bag of wood pellets into the hopper. In spring, summer, and fall, there is plenty of terrain to hike, following the creek to the waterfalls, and all the way up to Shirley Lake. If you have a bike, there is a great bike path that takes you all the way to Tahoe City, just 5 miles away. There you can enjoy the views of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
All together this is the best vacation home , away from home.
