Tranquillity with outstanding views
We had a lovely few days. My husband is disabled but the gite was perfect and accessible for him. Our dog enjoyed the lovely space around the gite. The owners were charming and very helpful. We can't wait to return.
Thank you for your review
We look forward to seeing you all again
A wee bit of heaven
This lovey gite was perfect for two older women who had never been abroad. It was off the beaten path, quite rural, but close enough to a wide array of venues. The gite itself was spacious, well-equipped with all the necessities to cook in-home meals. We made use of the outside table/chairs for dinner most nights, as on a clear day, the view of the Pyrennes was spectacular. The pool was lovely as the weather was on the warm side.
Gail and Ric made us feel very welcome; they were very available for questions/directions. They lent us maps, warm jackets for a cable car ride up the Pyrennes, and the use of their washing machine and clothes line. We would definitely return to this Petit Rossignol and will recommend it to others.
Thank you for taking the time to do this review and sing our praises !

Rural French Delight
Excellent property - comfortable, very clean, all mod cons, very private and peaceful location. Lovely hosts who were so helpful in every way but also very relaxed about the property and left us to enjoy ourselves while at the same time were always on hand if needed.
Comfortable gite with amazing views
Compact, comfortable with fabulous mountain views, helpful owners near at hand but not obtrusive, lovely area to explore mountains and beaches
Thank you for taking the time to do this review and we are very happy you enjoyed your stay !
Here in this unspoilt corner of Magnoac in the day you can sample the culinary delights of Gascony, wander around the local markets, sit and watch the red kites soaring and tumbling in clear blue skies while enjoying a glass of the local wine on the terrace, watching the sunset behind the mountains, all accompanied by the evening chorus of the crickets and frogs in the nearby pond ! Then at night you can find a local fete to dance the night away or just enjoy star gazing and experience the most amazing skies in this non polluted region of France..
For the more active there are ample walks in this beautiful countryside, cycling along quiet roads or off road following the small canal, golf at one of the many not quiet and picturesque golf courses in the area. For bird watching, swimming, canoeing and fishing there are 3 lakes with in 15 mins. Also close by are horse riding stables and a local aerodrome for sky diving and parachuting.
The Tour de France, in July, comes through the area each year and is an exciting event to watch and experience even for non cyclists !
Further afield each year, in August, you can go to the famous
International Jazz festival at Marciac.
Other attractions -
The Country and Western Festival at Mirande
Tarbes Haras National (famous horse stud)

Why Gail Phillp chose Lalanne
What makes this Cottage unique
This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful locations in the sunflower region of Gascony. Boasting over 300 days of sunshine per year we are lucky to be able to eat outside nearly all year round, enjoying that view which made us fall in love with this property.! From our door step we can walk or cycle on virtually empty roads and tracks. We can play golf admiring views of the Pyrenees on uncrowded courses. We have plenty of good varied,, well priced, local restaurants (within 10 mins ) offering wonderful Gascony cuisine with very friendly service Yet,,although we're away from everywhere we're also very well situated - We can ski in the winter or take a hike in the mountains once the snow has melted We're within easy reach of the the main cities , Toulouse , Auch, Tarbes , Lourdes , where there are plenty of things to do and see . No wonder we often think we are living in Paradis !
