A Very Beautiful And Stylish 3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom Mews, Built In 1792 .
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Three couples spent 10 days enjoying all Dublin has to offer. We were able to walk most places. The location was perfect for us. We were able to get in and out of town for short excursions to Wicklow Mountains and also to Northern Ireland for some golf.
Overcharged and noisy
The apartment is beautiful and I would have considered staying there again, but I was highly overcharged for washing a throw blanket. I put the blanket in the washing machine and then hung it up to dry. There was nothing wrong with the blanket after washing it. However, the owner said the blanket was ruined and needed to be replaced. She took out about $400.00 of my security deposit for the blanket claiming it was one of a kind. I have never heard of a throw costing that much money. I also think you should be aware of noisy parties next door. My family of 5 did not get any sleep on Friday night. You could hear very loud music until 5:00 am.
Thank you for choosing Chez Jay for your stay in Dublin. We have rented this apartment for seven years and all of our over 50 reviews are five star. Never in all of that time, has a guest taken it upon themselves to wash a dry clean only item such as a throw. All of the items that we use in the apartment are of superior quality and expensive. If there was an item that you wanted removed, there is always someone to call. We would have gladly taken care of it for you. We can tell you that we are so relieved that you didn’t decide to wash our Ralph Lauren cashmere throws as they cost $700 each. All of the property in our apartment belongs to us and if the throw was perfect after being washed in the washing machine, we would never have known that you had washed it. It was immediately obvious to us and we could not understand why you would do that. Our guests are very respectful of our property and we have hardly ever had to use the security deposit before.
It was unfortunate that the language school near our house had an end of term party during your stay. It is not a regular event. There is nothing that we can do about it but we are sorry that you did not have a good night’s sleep.
Great Property -worth the price!
As many of the reviews will tell you this property is very well done with high end finishes. We brought our 2 daughters, their husbands and our gran-daughter. Having 3 bedrooms all with their own shower was great. The master upstairs with a private patio and hot-tub allowed us to sneak away when we wanted to. The downstairs family room and courtyard allowed us all to get together for meals and offered up more than enough space to relax without running into each other.
As far as the location, at first I was a little concerned because looking on line it seemed as though it was on an alley. This is really not the case and it is actually a very charming location. It is close to everything (you don't need a car), we walked everywhere or took a taxi when we got too tired.
If you are flying in to DUB make sure you use Paul. He will tell you all about Dublin, let you into the residence and give you everything you need to know about the place. We do a lot of VRBO rentals as well as rent a place of our own and think this is a wonderful touch. He is also very reasonably priced.
We highly recommend this place!
Awesome stay perfect place
Beautiful place with everything you need!
Dublin bound comfort seekers
Our group felt well cared for in a lovely peaceful home in the heart of the city. The plantings and gardens added touch of being in a permanent home; steps from a great restaurant and easy walk to nearly all sites in central Dublin. You could cook a full dinner here as well. Highly recommended.
Perfect apartment and perfect location!
We loved this apartment! - very clean and modern. Kitchen and bathrooms are very high end. The beds are very comfortable. The owner has put a lot of effort into providing a top notch apartment. The location is great for walking to most of the major sites in Dublin. An extra bonus is the hot tub, we used it on numerous occasions. Jacqui is great to work with, providing lots of info about Dublin, suggestions of places to see and available if you have questions about the apartment. Can't say enough good things about it!
This mews building is set in the heart of Georgian Dublin. There are two apartments in this building. Chez Jay 1 has 3 bedrooms and is located upstairs. Chez Jay 2 has 2 bedrooms and is located on the ground floor. It was built in 1792 and was originally the stables of one of the great houses in Fitzwilliam Square. It is within short walking distance of great restaurants, pubs, the Shelbourne and the Merrion Hotels and Grafton Street. It is very close to the National Art Gallery and Government buildings. Ireland’s finest Michelin star restaurants are all within easy walking distance. While the area is quiet, there is a real sense of being in the centre of everything. There are lovely walks along the canal and in the parks of Merrion Square and St Stephens Green.
