La Paillotte provides a relaxing and comfortable home-from-home in a peaceful village five minutes from Semur-en Auxois, a medieval market town.

Sleeping up to 7 in total, with a combination of double and single beds, the house is comfortable and fully equipped making it ideal for families or friends holidaying together. La Paillotte has a well stocked kitchen and a large BBQ is supplied. There is room for everyone to dine together in La Paillotte's large dining room or on its generous wooden terrace with views across the valley. An open fire may be welcome on chillier days, and ample wood is supplied.

The garden is fully enclosed and the swimming pool is surrounded by a security fence. A cot can be provided and dogs are allowed by prior arrangement. The terrace, garden and swimming pool all offer exceptional views across the Brenne valley.

There is room to park 4 cars off street and space to turn cars around. Indoor board games and jigsaws are provided and garden games and pool inflatables are also supplied. Fast WiFi and excellent mobile phone reception enable you to stay in touch with the outside world.

There is a desk, chair and monitor in the upstairs hallway in case anyone needs to work. There a laundry room under the house with a washing machine tumble dryer.

This is a perfect base from which to explore Burgundy or other nearby areas whether wine tasing in Chablis, Beaune or Dijon, cycling or walking along the Burgundian canals, visiting the charming French villages like Semur-en Auxois, Epoisses and Gevry Chambertain or visiting local attractions like Abbaye De Fontenay, Parc L'Auxois or Alesia-Museo Parc.

Across the courtyard is La Petite Paillotte, which also sleeps 7 people and has a play room (including a pool table which converts to a table tennis table). This may be rented together with La Paillotte. If you rent only La Paillotte, you the other house will not be let at the same time, so you have exclusive use of the pool and garden.
