About this property

Bretherdale Hall

Stay at Bretherdale Hall, an ideal choice for a family getaway, sleeping up to eight guests across four bedrooms with access to sauna, games room and pool table.

Bretherdale Hall is a former farmhouse, that has been lovingly refurbished using local materials throughout and it now perfectly blends the characterful features with modern fixtures and fittings where guests can enjoy the rural setting and far-reaching countryside views.

Guests enter through the porch into the spacious lounge with large, comfortable sofas and an incredible wood-burning stove in the inglenook fireplace. The TV comes with a full Sky HD package and DVD player. Guests are provided with a starter pack of logs and kindling but there's underfloor central heating if lighting the log burner is too adventurous!

The kitchen comes well stocked with all the items required to cook a big meal. The Rayburn cooker is complemented with a conventional, built-in electric oven and hob and there's a fridge/freezer and dishwasher too. There's a washing machine and tumble drier and handy downstairs WC in the utility room.

The dining area comfortably seats eight people, and the patio doors lead out on to the garden and ideal for al fresco dining in the summer months. Outside, there is a BBQ provided for guests to use.

All of the bedrooms are located on the first floor. The master bedroom has a king size bed with stairs leading to a separate dressing area and spacious ensuite with a walk-in shower and bath. The quirky layout sees the second bedroom located down some steps but enjoys a high ceiling with exposed beams and chandelier. The third and fourth bedrooms comprise twin beds and a double respectively and both have impressive views out over the valley and hills. The house bathroom, also on the first floor has a shower over bath.

The leisure building housing the showers and games room can be found next door. This facility is shared with Bretherdale Barn and there is a board provided for guests to book out morning, afternoon or evening sessions for their own private use. There is a separate drying room with spa towels for guests to use during their stay.

There is undercover parking for up to four cars at Bretherdale Hall with additional parking for at least another six cars on site. Please note that Bretherdale Barn is next door, and both share the games room facility.

This property provides the perfect location from which to explore the Unesco World Heritage Site of the Lake District. Kendal, Windermere and Ambleside are all within easy reach and offer wonderful days out whatever the time of year. Kendal is the nearest town and is full of historic character, with its web of interweaving alleyways and cobbled yards. The town is home to plenty of passionate artisans - if you love food and drink, you'll love Kendal. Guests can browse the farm shops, visit local bakers and brewers or check out the local delicacies at the weekly market.

Bretherdale Hall is ideal for families and friends. Please note when booking this property does not accept any stag/hen parties and will result in a termination of your reservation without refund.

Bretherdale Hall

Beautiful house in a very quiet location. Having the games room was great, with children. Not too far from the larger places such as Windermere. Nothing
