About this property
The Hideaway @ Watergate Eye Farm
This gorgeous, detached cottage, situated in the village of Butterknowle, overlooking the Gaunless Valley has been restored to a high standard with your comfort in mind. The property compromises a modern kitchen and an open plan living/dining room with a wood burner. Along the hall you will find 2 lovingly furnished bedrooms as well as a family bathroom. The outside of the property has an enclosed garden with lawned area, as well as a patio area complete with a large, high end private Hot Tub. There is also a fire pit and out door sofas for your comfort.
Butterknowle lies within walking distance of the historic Cockfield Fell which is England's largest scheduled ancient monument – almost 350 hectares in size. The fell has a rich historic past, which includes Pre-Roman settlements and industrial evidence that dates back to the fourteenth century which make for an interesting hike! Also in walking distance you will find Copley woods, where you can visit the massive chimney built back in 1832. We are a 5 minute drive from the Beautiful Raby Castle where you can visit the deer and the gardens. Also the vast Hamsterley Forest is only 10 minutes from the property too. We are fortunate to also have two dog and children friendly pubs in the village also walking distance.
The views from the cottage are stunning and with no neighbours you can really relax and enjoy your time here.
