We have stayed at over 20 rental properties in the last five years, and we both agree that this one was the best equipped of any of them. The owner(s) thought of everything — bags of fresh ice, plenty of utensils of all sorts, fresh towels and enough hooks in the bathroom. (Not enough towel racks and/or hooks is a pet peeve of mine.) Extra rolls of toilet paper were easy to find, and shampoo, creams, and soaps were laid out next to the immaculate sink basin.
The silkiest sheets and most velvety blankets made it a pleasure to climb into bed after a long day of sightseeing and dining. So many good restaurants make choosing difficult. Pizzeria Lola is close by, and Fika at the Swedish Institute is a favorite of ours from past visits. Burgers at the Red Cow, too, aren’t to be missed. A special treat was a stop at Patisserie 46 in St. Paul. Oh, my. Too many sweet choices, but we managed.
Although it was rather hot outside, we did use the handy grill and enjoyed the colorful garden. The bench was a plus.
Although we don’t tend to watch TV when we vacation, a nice large-screen television was available. Wi-Fi was working well.
Street parking close to the side door was readily available. No problem.
Lovely neighborhood. Airplane traffic was persistent but not at a noise level that was really an issue. Of course, we lived a couple of miles from O’Hare for many years.
Thanks for providing a pleasant oasis for our visit.
