Fall 2026 Discounted Rates— At The Lakehouse Retreat

Enjoy the peaceful, yet entertaining life at the lake in a renovated home this fall on Crooked Lake. The home is currently having some minor updates as the composite deck is near completion. You and your family will be able to enjoy the ambience of the lake, the deck with the patio furniture and your morning coffee or evening meals; we are currently working when our guests are not there to install the railing and the other steps – the deck is about a foot and a half from the ground. Also, we are renovating the upstairs bathroom with the vanity has been back ordered, but the new flooring, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub can be thoroughly accessed as well as the downstairs bathroom. The discounted rate reflects the inconvenience; however, if you need a place to just sleep, or entertain your family in the living room, dining room and beautiful kitchen… this fall accommodation is just for you. Upper Crooked Lake is a 735-acre lake located in Delton, Michigan. You can enjoy the ambiance of lake living including swimming, fishing, kayaking, and just relaxing.

This two-story lake front home has three bedrooms, a loft, two baths, a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer & dryer, central air conditioning, WI-FI, generator and several other modern amenities.

The main floor bedroom has a queen bed and one bathroom downstairs & upstairs the loft, double bedroom, king master and bathroom. There is a large deck with plenty of seating.

A dock is provided (up til mid Sept weather permitting) for you to utilize and an area to park your own trailer. We have 2 kayaks available for your use including lifejackets of all sizes.

The fishing at the lake is amazing and is filled with a variety of fish : Bluegill, Bass, Crappie, Pike, and Yellow Perch.

The view is absolutely beautiful from the open living room/deck overlooking the lake. Enjoy the scenery of the beautiful wildlife including geese, swans, cranes, and more.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Ensure any refrigerator spills or stove spills/oven, or cleaned up prior to vacating. Also, please clean up any messes on the grill that you may have incurred.
Hang the keys to open the front door in the back door back on the hook.
If any of the furniture was moved in the house/outside, please put it back when you checked in. Also, secure the kayaks, oars & life jackets where are you found them. The kayaks should be upside down.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

It is under construction. There was no deck overlooking the lake, only a structure with no boards on it. The pathway to the lake was torn up. The upstairs bathroom was missing the sink! Unmade beds and personal clothing strewn around completed the experience. The host kept us waiting for several hours to check in. We did not stay.

I disagree with many of your comments. The deck was partially completed enough to sit on. You were informed of remodeling new week before your arrival and you opted to rent aware of the condition and remodel. Also clothes were not strewn throughout the house— they were on the downstairs bed with the sheets of one load of sheets, a towel, and a bra which was an oversight to put away When you brought the attention of the oversights in my walker, we were there in five minutes to make the bed. We compensated you by giving you a $75 credit right away, rental of our pontoon boat for the day in a late check out the day of your departure. Your delay in check in resulted in you and your husband getting dinner and running a few errands. I agree that we were not ready at 4:00 PM but the home was ready by 5:30 PM. I’m truly sorry again for all the issues that you had, but we attempted to make them right before you opted to self check out.

We took our first family vacation as a family of 5 this year and it was an absolute dream. Being on the lake, the house is beautiful and well kept, the weather was beautiful and the air was so fresh. The beach was nice and not deep at all, so my kiddos could play safely! My kids said this house was “magical” and they wish we could stay forever! The owner was kind and responsive and so welcoming/accommodating! I highly recommend this VRBO property! It was So peaceful and perfect! We would love to come back next year!! Thank you for opening your home to us! We made memories here to last a lifetime!

The Lakehouse is a charming home for a fun family vacation. Kitchen is well supplied and had everything needed for making Christmas cookies. Plenty of space to hang out, with games and movies that kept us entertained. The owners could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their stay. Thank you!

We loved our stay at The Lakehouse Retreat! Sherrie was a wonderful and responsive host and the home was spotless, spacious, and perfect for our group. The lake views, renting the pontoon boat, kayaking, and swimming made it extra special, and the location is ideal for relaxing. There is easy access to the lake. We enjoyed the shaded dining space on the deck and the firepit area near the water. The kitchen is well stocked. Truly fun for all ages—highly recommend!

Wonderful Lake House

Great Getaway!

Family Vacation

The Lake House on Crooked Lake

Our stay at the Lake house was a good one. It accomadated the 7 of us quite well. We enjoyed the fishing off the dock. Caught several different species of fish. The dozen of swans were amazing to watch every day. The sunsets were very colorful. The area was very peaceful and quiet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Nice lake house...

The property is nice; cozy and inviting. The king suite could use a mattress update, and the showers are a bit cramped, but other than that the property is good. Great location, feet from the lake, great accommodations. Owner is very friendly, and worked with us on any requests.

We actually have had that mattress only three years and we even put a topper on it for the comfort of our guest last summer because it was super firm. We are so sorry that you did not sleep well. Our former Gus have indicated that they were comfortable with the king mattress as we had a former queen size bed in the master We are sorry that the showers are a bit cramped but the average adult seems to do OK. The upstairs bathroom is not for the taller folks but has the jetted tub. The downstairs shower was renovated three years ago and it’s a small bathroom so we can’t go much bigger, but again seems ample for folks even for taller individuals. Mom’s 60th Birthday

This property was a great location for my mom’s 60th birthday. The owner was extremely helpful and responded to all of our questions quickly. The views of the lake were beautiful and the house was clean and comfortable.
