Location
In a residential part of central Catania, this studio apartment is about 6km from the sea. A car is recommended for your stay.

Catania is nestled between Mount Etna, Europe’s largest and most active volcano, and the sea. The city’s history is told through its stunning architecture, from ancient Greek ruins, through its majestic Norman cathedral, Duomo di Catania, to the magnificent Baroque palaces, including the Palazzo Biscari.

The city’s lively food markets are not to be missed, particularly the daily fish market, which can be found behind the cathedral. You can buy local fruit and meat as well as the catch of the day. The city’s kiosks offer cool refreshments in the heat of the summer months. You can find these “cioscu” all over the city but the most famous are in the Piazza Umberto.

For energetic holidaymakers, the Park of Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, (55 min drive) offers excellent hiking all year round, including hikes up to the peak of the volcano. For something more relaxing, La Playa (10 min drive) is Catania’s most popular beach. This long, wide sandy beach has beach clubs, snack bars, a water park for children and a clean, blue sea.

Catania’s international airport is just a 15 minute drive from the apartment.
