We really enjoyed the home and the extra little things for our dogs. The backyard was great and made the trip easy for us and them. Great little house!
Everything as promised along with a welcome snack. Very clean. A great location for New River Gorge NP and surrounding area. Definitely recommended and would stay here again.
We very much enjoyed our stay here and hope to come again. The house was the perfect size for our family of four and two dogs. The utility of having a fully-fenced yard when traveling with pets cannot be overstated. House was convenient to all of our adventures along NRGNP, parking and check in were easy, and we were provided with everything needed for our stay - the hosts even left us some snacks to enjoy after our long drive to WV! Excellent property!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The thoughtful welcome treat on the table was such a kind touch from our hosts. This charming home was the perfect home-away-from-home for our family of two adults, one child, and our dog.The location was ideal-just 20 minutes from larger grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, and the iconic New River Gorge National Park near the bridge. We also loved being within walking distance of a smaller grocery store, a dog park, and a community park with a playground. The house was spotless, the kitchen was fully stocked, and the fenced-in backyard was perfect for our pup. It's an adorable, comfortable space, and we would be delighted to return someday.
This place was a great place to stay. The location was fantastic for all we wanted to do. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The back porch and yard are very nice and peaceful. Highly recommend this to others visiting the area!!
Had a very nice stay at this older property with great amenities. Comfy bed, decent kitchen, excellent location, quiet neighborhood, great AC and internet. Owners were excellent and responsive. A little quirky but had everything we wanted. Great for families.
Cute, little house. Well maintained and clean. Backyard was absolutely perfect for our fur babies with a nice back porch. One little glitch that was quickly fixed when we got there and the beds are not the most comfortable (I have slept on worse though), otherwise it was perfect for our weekend.
I found this location because I needed something pet friendly and close access to the National Park. This did not disappoint. The home was a great location for our long weekend to the New River Gorge. The house was clean and equipped with what we needed. The fenced in backyard was wonderful but the back grass was high and overgrown. Would absolutely stay here again.
My husband and I decided to book this house for my birthday trip to visit New River Gorge with our dogs. This house was perfect! It was very cozy, and stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals. Our dogs loved the big backyard and we both loved sitting on the porch after a long day of hiking. It's also very near to the grocery store, restaurants, and a coffee shop. It was a great stay, and we hope to be able to book it again in the future!
The house was very nice, the owners had left snacks & toiletries if needed, & it gave it a warm touch. We met the owner while in town & he was extremely friendly & lots of good recommendations. Everyone we encountered in town were very friendly as well. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

Cute house with fenced back yard in convenient location. Owner went above and beyond by providing a welcome snack basket and supplying firewood.

Thanks for the great review. You guys are great guests to have and look forward to future stays.
We loved our stay at this cottage. It was clean and comfortable and central to all the things we wanted to see and do in the area. Our Golden Retriever River had a great time in the fenced back yard. The extra treats and supplies that we discovered upon checking in were a nice touch.

About the host
Hosted by Lora and Leonard Keaveny
This cottage was our first home when we moved to West Virginia. We are hard working people who work in the area I am a physician and my husband is a teacher. We have two children and two dogs. We live in WV because we love outdoor activities and being close to family. Our son spent 3 years in this little home in Oak Hill and did not want to move out when we built our house, so we named the cottage A's Cottage after him. We love this area and the people in it and hope that you enjoy Southern WV as much.
Why they chose this property
Since we moved out of the house in 2006 we have rented to people by the month. We have found that these renters do not take great care of the property so each time repaint clean up and rent again. We have had great success with renters on vacation, they enjoy the property and take care of it. We also rent out other houses in the area including our main home, so we stay in this home from time to time, so it works well for our family.
What makes this property unique
This home has a large fenced in yard. Even though you are in town it seems very private. The best part is sitting on the back covered porch and listening to the birds in the morning with a cup of coffee.
