Proudly sitting where a medieval watchtower once kept a lookout over the lake, the villa is encircled by ancient stone walls that border extensive terraced gardens. A short walk away is a cable car that offers an unforgettable journey with views over the lake and soaring hills.

Built at the very beginning of the 20th century, Villa Boffalora showcases the Liberty style to charming effect throughout its grand rooms. Set over three floors, with a lift effortlessly moving you from one exquisitely furnished space to the next, expect comfortable luxury wherever you unwind or socialise. Enhancing your stay even further are complimentary welcome drinks and snacks, as well as 'chef-on-call' who can hapilly prepare your breakfasts, lunches and dinners six days per week (grocery items charged extra).

The fairytale-like outside space offers al fresco dining under an elegant pergola or by the well-equipped pool house. The infinity pool is where some of the very best views can be soaked up, with the feeling that you could swim right out into the lake itself.

Many of Lake Como's idyllic villages, towns and cities are easy to reach from Villa Boffalora's fantastic location. These include Argegno, Menaggio and Como, which are all within an hour's drive. Enjoy historic sightseeing, shopping, scenic cable car rides and typical cafe culture.

Natural sites of beauty to visit on days out include the caves of Grotte di Rescia and Greenway del Lago di Como, which offers lakeside walks and hikes through quaint villages.

Location:

As Villa Boffalora sits where a medieval watchtower once perched and looked out from the hilltop, the immediate area is tranquil and utterly private. From such a privileged position, the views over Lake Como are second to none. Just a short walk from the villa is a cable car which you can ride for an even more exciting way to take in views of the lake and dramatic landscapes.

Amenities such as restaurants, bars and shops can be found within a 30-minute drive, with a couple of restaurants around 10 minutes away. Drive to the nearby small town of Argegno (15km) for meals out and historic sightseeing along the charming narrow streets of its old town. Highlights of Argegno include a roman bridge and the 17th-century Church of Santissima Trinità.

There are plenty of naturally beautiful spots to discover in the area, with Grotte di Rescia being a series of stunning caves explored by underground tram. Also visit Greenway del Lago di Como to enjoy scenic lakeside walks and hiking through small villages. You'll find lots of places to stop to buy drinks, snacks and ice creams along your travels.

Lake Como is famous for its botanical gardens, with those at Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo being some of the most picturesque. Also admire the extensive art displayed inside the museum that's found within the villa.

The lively, cosmopolitan city of Como is around an hour's drive from the villa. It has something for everyone, with an historic centre, shops, restaurants and a chic cafe culture. Take a ride on the funicular railway up to the village of Brunate, with glorious views as you ascend.
