This gorgeous two-bedroom cottage is full of character and style and set in the heart of St Agnes, one of Cornwall's most sought-after villages. Beautifully refurbished it’s been a true labour of love to create this wonderful home and it shows! Perfectly positioned on one of the villages most favoured roads it’s a stroll to the local surfer’s beach at Trevaunance Cove as well as the area’s fantastic local pubs, restaurants and shops. The landscaped garden is a delight, and unusually large for this type of cottage with plenty of spots to sit out and enjoy a sundowner after a day on the beach. Piggy Whidden is dog friendly too so your pooch is welcome and will love the numerous walks along this stunning heritage coastline.
LOCATION
Piggy Whidden is situated on an idyllic terrace of cottages in one of the best positions on Rosemundy, one of the villages favoured roads. It's a ten-minute walk or so to Trevaunance Cove which leads onto The St Agnes Heritage Coast, a nationally designated protected area surrounded by stunning countryside and beaches. As well as Trevaunance Cove, immediately to the West is Chapel Porth beach and to the East Perranporth so budding surfers will have their pick of some of the best spots in the county.
The village of St Agnes is a sought-after destination and spend a little time there and you will soon see why. You can leave the car and pretty much everything you need for a great holiday is on your doorstep. Food wise, whether it’s a laid-back café to an upmarket eatery you’re covered, with local shops from a butcher to a deli all close by. Some of our top tips include The Tap House, Taste and of course The Driftwood Spars, famous for its beer. For fish and chips there's Fission in the village. The St Agnes Bakery, a favourite with the Poldark film crew, does great sausage tolls and pasties and Wheal Kitty a fashionable spot has the Canteen and is home to the trendy Finisterre clothes store.
LIVING
Walking in you enter the living room with its wonderful blend of old and new including pieces of stunning campaign furniture. There is a large squishy two-seater sofa, armchair, high back captain’s chair and window seat. These overlook the original fireplace and wood burner. In the entrance area is a desk and chair and there is a wall mounted flat screen TV which is internet ready.
COOKING & EATING
The kitchen has been mostly handmade and is well equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast including the obligatory wine cooler! There are marble worktops, a Range cooker with gas hob and butlers sink under the window overlooking the garden. There is a beautiful rustic dining table for four and stable doors lead out to the garden.
SLEEPING
The gorgeous bedrooms have been refurbished in an opulent style..
BEDROOM 1: Stylish and comfortable with a king size bed, open hanging, small chest of drawers, flat screen TV and an en suite shower room.
BEDROOM 2: Overlooking the garden you can choose from a super king or twin room, open hanging, a small chest of drawers, flat screen TV and bedside storage table.
BATHING
The en suite shower room off bedroom one has a rain shower and the main bathroom overlooks the garden. In here there is a free-standing bath with a shower attachment.
OUTSIDE
The front garden is a great spot to watch the world go by and catch the morning sun with a coffee from the bench seat. The main rear garden catches the sun most of the day and has been wonderfully landscaped. A winding path leads past various sitting areas to a garden table and four chairs positioned at the rear to create a lovely private sun trap.
