Grace Cottage, Porlock

Grace Cottage i Porlock blev ombygget for et årti siden for at åbne stueetagen nedenunder i et mere rummeligt og lyst værelse hvor man kan lave mad, spise og slappe af. I 2018 blev ejendommen solgt til nye ejere, der har haft stor tid og opmærksomhed på at opdatere denne dejlige sommerhus, herunder et nyt køkken udstyret med moderne faciliteter; en ny log brænder i stuen til hyggelige aftener i plus nye senge og linned også. Der er en dobbeltseng og et soveværelse. Badeværelset er også blevet opdateret og indeholder et kraftigt brusebad over badet og moderne håndklædestang.

Very quiet as it is tucked beside the church away from the road. We highly recommend the Ship Inn for food and service, as well as the Bottom Ship in Porlock Weir.

Porlock is the perfect place to stay to explore Exmoor, with many lovely walks starting from the village. The village itself has pubs, cafes, an excellent village store selling local produce. Grace Cottage could not be more conveniently situated, right in the heart of Porlock and minutes from all its facilities and is a cosy, comfortable home from home.

Porlock is a historic village on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Somerset, in a sheltered vale between the moor and the Bristol Channel coast. Its heritage stretches back to Saxon times.



The meandering High Street is lined with independent shops, including a traditional butcher, chemist, hardware shop, post office, two convenience stores, art galleries, a chocolate shop, and a cash machine. Most shops keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.



The harbour hamlet of Porlock Weir is approximately one mile to the west and makes a lovely walk or a short drive. There you will find a 15th-century tidal harbour, a pub, restaurants, cafes, and independent shops and galleries.



Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 6 miles away. Here you will find larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrisons on the outskirts with longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, and a range of other shops. EV charging points are available at Porlock Central Car Park.
