Le «Ole Bear» est un chalet de montagne rustique, entièrement meublé, avec 2 chambres et 1 salle de bain, avec toutes les commodités. Situé dans le coin sud-est du Tennessee, entouré par la forêt nationale de Cherokee et niché entre la Géorgie et la Caroline du Nord, il se trouve à quelques minutes de la célèbre Cherohala Skyway et de la célèbre boucle de randonnée Tail of the Dragon.

Avec une arrière-cour remplie de centaines de kilomètres de loisirs, l'ours Ole est la destination idéale pour une escapade romantique, des vacances en famille ou un week-end rempli d'aventures.

Détendez-vous dans un grand porche à bascule sur le porche enveloppant privé avec vue sur les montagnes Unicoi tout en écoutant les beaux sons de l'eau dans le ruisseau historique de Coker ou profitez du chant du fouet pauvre en mangeant à la table à manger en plein air. Le foyer extérieur peut être apprécié depuis le porche donnant sur ou les sièges qui l'entourent.

Pour les aventuriers, l'ours Ole est entouré de montagnes, de cascades, de lacs et de ruisseaux, de sentiers de randonnée et de routes panoramiques. Vous pouvez profiter d'une balade au-dessus des nuages sur la Cherohala Skyway à proximité ou remonter le mont Chilhowee sur la boucle panoramique d'Ocoee, la première route panoramique nationale désignée de la forêt nationale du pays. Attrapez une truite rusé à Bald River Falls ou faites une randonnée à travers les montagnes jusqu'à l'une de nos 12 cascades. Rien de tout cela n'est intéressant ... que diriez-vous du rafting en eau vive et de la tyrolienne, de la randonnée à moto, de la pêche, du golf, de l'orpaillage, du VTT, du kayak, de l'équitation!?!?

What a cozy and nicely decorated cabin! We enjoyed the extra touches she provided, such as a cheese ball and wine. We loved the large deck for having coffee and reading. Our son enjoyed our cornhole competitions with the provided boards. We would definitely stay there again

Loved the cabin. Perfect getaway spot. Me and my wife came to the area to go whitewater rafting on the Ocoee, and enjoyed being able to relax and take in the scenery for the rest of the long weekend after our whitewater trip. This cabin and property were so lovely and well-appointed for a comfortable and relaxing long weekend in the woods. This place is amazing!

I booked this cabin as a place for my girlfriend and I to get away and forget the stress back home. We came from Louisville KY and this is my third time in the area, her first. We were floored with the amount of preparation put forth for our comfort, and the accommodations upon arrival! So cozy and beautiful, we were able to relax to the highest caliber, and slept better than we have in months! Highly recommend a stay here, because we for sure will be back!

Fantastic Getaway

The Ole Bear cabin was exactly the destination we had been hoping for. The well thought out cabin with all the little extras made for such an enjoyable stay. We took a trip on the train in Blue Ridge and hiked near by waterfall trails. Coming back to the cabin to make s’mores by the fire pit or sit on the deck rockers after grilling out always promised a memorable day. We definitely hope to return with family or friends next time we return to the area.

We were treated with lots of unexpected, special touches upon our arrival. The home is very comfortable and accommodating. You have all you need in this immaculate cabin in the woods. Lindsay, Thank you for your comment on the cute cabin. Regarding the comment on the Fireplace I find it very disappointing since there are no "issues" with the Fireplace. You left a message that the fireplace was not working and I arrived in less than 15 minutes to check on it only to find that you hadn't even attempted to operate it. I explained to you that there were operating instructions sitting on the fireplace as well as in the Cabin Manual that has operating instructions on everything in the cabin. I turned the fireplace on with you watching and explained the operation of it as well as the safety features. We take extreme pride and satisfaction in providing a clean, safe, fully functional and welcoming experience and find it offensive to put a negative comment out that is so blatantly false. I otherwise hope you enjoyed your stay.

Nice cabin hidden away

The cabin had the essentials. Good size kitchen and comfy areas to sit and relax inside and outside. Nice deck space for warmer months. I would call this remote but it depends on where you plan to sight see or just chill out. Short road to cabin had a little loose gravely spots but if you just get going on the paved area it was no problem. We are not used to mountain roads so it would be easy for most. Owner came by to check on us he was very friendly. This was our first time in this area, there were several water falls around and the Cherohala skyway was a short dive away. We brought food in but stores and restaurants are not super close but 20 to 40 minutes puts you at Tellico or McCaysville . I guess that's close considering being so secluded.

When searching for this cabin.. I had a list going of acceptable cabins. My daughter's narrowed it down to three properties. I couldn't decide. They all looked nice. I ended up picking the cheapest (by well over $100) and was never disappointed once with that decision. This properly was well stocked with all the necessary travel 'things'. It was left in a very clean condition. There was nothing I needed during my stay. The cabin and the grounds were stunning. I most loved the porch and your firepit. I wish it wouldn't have rained during our short stay so we could have walked the trails and enjoyed outdoors a bit more.. but we had girls day inside I'll instead! My dogs were welcomed guests. The owner even included an extra comforter to put across the bed so they could sleep with me. Believe me that helped with our stay so very much (they happen to be big babies.. and were scared of every single noise.. we had to turn music on for them so they could rest.. and bed with mommy is the best!) I will be saving your information for future stays.. which I am very exited to have in the future.

Time Well Spent - Peaceful, Beautiful and Fun

The cabin is very clean and comfortable, and Rosemary will likely welcome you in person when you arrive. The view is very nice. Both a gas and charcoal grill are available, in addition to a fire pit and plenty of firewood. There are two other cabins within site, but otherwise the area feels fairly private and insulated from the outside world. We visited in cold weather and the gas heaters worked very well. The WiFi and Chromecast allowed us to cast anything on our devices to the TV. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basics. When we left, our deposit was refunded very quickly. My wife is picky about cleanliness, and she was very pleased with the condition of this cabin when we arrived. If she was happy, then believe me, it's clean. Our only issue was a shortage of hot water for showering. That's the only reason we didn't give this property a full 5 stars. We had 5 people staying in the cabin and the hot water tank wasn't nearly sufficient for morning showers for everyone, no matter how hard we tried to conserve. For smaller parties this won't be an issue. This wasn't a deal breaker for us and we still greatly enjoyed our stay - just be aware. For the price, this is perhaps the best cabin that we've stayed at. You'll notice that this cabin doesn't have the high deposit and fees of most others. We were looking at several other cabins that appeared to be reasonably priced, but once we calculated all their ridiculous hidden fees we realized that the advertised price was deceptive. In addition to cleaning fees (What? You didn't expect to clean your property after our stay?) and booking fees and seasonal rate hikes, we even found one cabin that had a hidden fee for using the attached game room! Seriously? We actually wanted that cabin until we checked their extra fees. Advice to those renting cabins - stop trying to con guests with low daily prices and then gouge them with fee after fee and seasonal rate hikes. We're not stupid. If you want more money, just be honest and include it in your daily rate so we can make a fair assessment of your property at first glance. We rented this property because we actually got what we paid for without tons of additional fees. It was a good buy for a wonderful stay and we enjoyed our vacation very much. Overall, we highly recommend this cabin as one of the top properties for it's price range in the region. Two thumbs up.

Stephen, Thank so much for the kind comments regarding you stay at the Bear Cabin. Guests like you and your family make this endeavor very enjoyable. I am glad you enjoyed your vacation. However I am very sorry for you lack of hot water, the water heater is more than sufficient to supply everyone with hot showers. As soon as I saw your review my husband checked and replaced the lower element, you were getting about a third of a tank of hot water. We ask all our guests to let us know of any unsatisfactory circumstance day or night just for situations like this, it was a 30 minute repair. We take great pride in our Bear, and want guests to have a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Not only did you take cold showers, the next guest potentially also because the review was three days after your stay. If ever in the area again, please give the Bear another chance, I guarantee there is enough hot water......lol! Rosemary

After retirement as a School Administrator, years of traveling and building nearing completion, we shifted gears and decided to make our vacation cabin our permanent home. So, in 2014, we packed up our two rescue dogs and moved full-time to this beautiful area. In 2016, fearful of running out of projects (lol), we purchased an adjacent property with a long-time vacation rental in need of some work. After months of blood, sweat and yes, some tears we were ready to again offer the Ole Bear cabin for vacationers to make their own magical mountain memory.

My husband and I are longtime RVers that love to travel and explore. In 2010, while on vacation from Florida we searched for an RV friendly property that could serve our needs for a few months out of the year and we were taken by the beauty of this area. We found the perfect property in the Cherokee National Forest a short distance up a mountain overlooking a beautiful creek with a rich history and some of the most scenic falls right down the road, but… restricted against RV's. Convinced this was the perfect location for us we built our dream vacation cabin instead.

As the owner of the Ole Bear cabin our goal is to make your mountain escape as memorable as possible. We try to provide everything you may need during your stay, but are available to assist with any questions you may have and ensure everything is to your satisfaction. We are also available to share area information, recommendations and directions (there is a portfolio of area information in the cabin and the Coker Creek Welcome Center with a wealth of information less than 1 mile from the cabin), but otherwise the cabin and property is yours to enjoy as you see fit.
